I think the question still stands.

Until I see a female Turian I'll have to agree with you

woops, I thought it might have been another turian that approached him. It was a male human, wasn't it?

Based on Retrubution, we know they're fairly easy to distinguish from males. Gavorn looks and sounds like every other turian we've seen, allowing for minor differences in facial paint and suchlike, and many (if not most) of those are incontrovertibly of the dude persuasion. Gavorn is therefore almost certainly a male.

Err, cite. What are the naming rules in turian culture? Are they absolute? Are there unisex names?Gavorn is male name.

Yes, the book are evidence because Bioware, the sourse the Series, supports it as Fact. You can't go over Bioware, they're the Law here.Christmas Ape wrote...

Try reading the entire sentence fragment between the paragraphs. You got two words in - why did you give up? I said they were not evidence that was available to me. I am not disputing them. I am withdrawing my question regarding Gavorn's gender because the books confirm sexual dimorphism among turians makes it possible to say "we've only seen males so far".dreman9999 wrote...

You've still provided no specific evidence for this other than a male turian possesses the name. His parents could be eccentric. It could be unisex. It could actually be a nickname in the native language that translates into a full-sentence concept in English. We just don't have the context. And Gavorn is a male name.

Gavorn is a male Turian who is probably gay. Or at least interested in human males.

Yeah, and based on Revelation, we know that batarians are long-necked and fuzzy.
Hm, wait...

Yeah and they haven't changed anything from Retribution yet, so that's irrelevant.

Yeah, and what's more: until something in the games override the books, they're canon. So for now, turian chicks don't look exactly like turian guys and the two can be told apart on sight.
