I stopped bothering with the videos because most of them are pointless and juvenille. I sometimes get this picture of the devs and writers at Bioware doing that little pinky thing from Austin Powers and giggling like 12-year-old boys as they include these little vapid bits into their games to show how "mature" and edgey" they are.

Same thing with the "secret dosiers" on the other terminal.

I can ignore it to enjoy the games overall, but sometimes they really throw it in your face.

Where are people seeing this video? I've been through the videos multiple times (including after the suicide mission) and never saw this one. Is there another video console or something?

I don't think they were trying to be "mature" with the LotSB video collection - it was there strictly for laughs (for the most part).

The dossiers however, I completely disagree with. They add so much more depth to the existing characters it isn't even remotely funny. In fact, I would go so far as to say the dossiers were the best part of the DLC. They proved that TIM isn't as "human-centric" as he claims to be, that Geth thinking processes have evolved beyond that of standard AI's, and reveals more about Garrus' background than both his ME/ME2 conversations combined.

The problem with "for the lolz" is that it damages the characters for the sake of a cheap laugh.

The only dossier/video that bothered me was Miranda's dating log, but otherwise I felt the humor fit the characters very well. If you don't mind my asking, whose reputation was damaged by these videos?

Really? I thought the funniness of Miranda's dating log was shown in a completely different light once you finally get to her last dossier entry. It added a new level of complexity to her seemingly dismissal nature of "the losers on dating sites". She now had a purpose for doing so that wasn't solely ****y/humorous.

And as for the "for the lolz", I don't really think it damages the characters at all. Certainly not the dossiers. The videos, maybe, but those were mainly only the small side characters to the plot.

It is in the second set of the Shadow Broker Video Archive. Check Youtube, all three sets have been uploaded by now.

I disagree - I think the videos were meant to be thought-provoking. Why is Anderson meeting with someone clearly wearing a Cerberus uniform? Why is the SB monitoring the actions of one specific Keeper? Why does Aethyta have a picture of Liara, and why did she get so angry at that Volus?

Some overly-sensitive people have deemed them a jab at forum speculation, but I see them as a way of creating MORE speculation instead. And I am a fan of anything that reveals more insight into ME's universe.

I agree wholeheartedly here.

I still found it awkward even after reading the last entry. I mean, if I ever decided to use a dating site I'm sure I wouldn't use it with the intention of getting someone pregnant/looking for a, uh, "special donor" (as I assume is Miranda's intention). That's kinda creepy.

Sometimes?  Try constantly, from practically minute one of ME1.  It's a wonder you've been able to make it this far.

If Mordin taught us anything, it's that lube exists that is compatible with both Turian and Human biology. So... yay for that ^_^

Wonder if it's marketed under the Astroglide brand?  'Cause let's face it: that name is perfect for an interspecies lubricant.

So I'm gonna assume the discussion on Gavorn being gay has passed and recommend those of you who want to continue discussing the dossiers in general use the sticky for LotSB discussion. If you'd like to discuss a character's dossier specifically, you can go to the ME1&2 Characters and Fan Creation forum.
