I was playing the game and just after tali and legion had there little argument the game crashed and now  when i restart mass effect 2 i cant get past the very begining "click to continue" screen cause when i click it it goes black, crashed and says mass effect 2 has stopped working .

Please help

While perhaps not relevant in this case, it's a good idea to post specs per the stickied thread.

You did reboot, right? You should always reboot after a Direct3D game crashes before trying to launch another Direct3D program.

Another thought: perhaps a save game was corrupted in the crash. Corrupted save games crash the main menu like you're describing. You can test this by moving everything in \\\\Bioware\\\\Mass Effect 2\\\\Save\\\\ (under My Documents, or I believe it's something like C:\\\\Users\\\\Your Username\\\\ in Vista/7) elsewhere and then seeing if it still crashes. If this solves the crashing, corrupted save confirmed. You'll then have to move the save files back one by one, starting up ME2 each time, to determine which one(s) is/are corrupt and need to be deleted.

K ill try that... outa intrest in one of my saves has it saying its 0kb's while the others are 60-70 kbs etc etc. Is that normal..

Heh, that doesn't sound normal. Maybe just move that one out first, that might fix it and then you won't have to go save by save.

Thanks very much. it was that one saved game file .... oh the joy of being limited ammount of saved games / me being lazy deleting them all... gotta go wayyy back to the collector ship.
