No one has any thoughts about actually using staves what they used to be... used for?
Sure a bolt of magic was in a mage's repertoire, but they still used them for walking. Aren't they kind of heavy for hoisting onto one's back anyway?

Walking with a staff would be awkward and slow in a game, I think. And a staff is probably a lot lighter than a sword or mace, and especially a two-handed sword.

Please completely destroy the ability to be an armored mage. The inclusion of such in fantasy ruined the balance of classes.
Nonsense. He simply brought a sword AND a lightning bolt to a sword fight.Herr Uhl wrote...

He was a little slow. The other mages took pity on him.

I would like not to have those ridiculous hats. The most powerful ones seemed very funny to me. Ok it has comedy value, but maybe something more awe-inspiring would be coolI was amazed they didn't pick on me while walking ferelden.

Well I'm right.
Priest based characters and holy warriors are bad enough. Giving a mage armor takes away the entire point of having a fighter or warrior in your class, he's no longer protection, he's just a liability.

I agree with you, but I don't necessarily think that Arcane Warrior needs to be cut (alhtough I won't be surprised if it is). They just need to tweak it so it isn't so ridiculous. For example, maybe giving them more melee moves but only with staves and only certain armors or something.

I for one appreciated the fact that mage was smart enough to consider shooting lightning from his hands while wearing armor.

Aren't mages just Mary/Marty Sues . . . period?

In my opinion, no. They only have so much mana and spells available. Yes, one fireball can potentially wipe out a bunch of enemies, but archers and opponents that get in close are bad news for mages. And this weakness remains. But if you let them wear armor, that's why it unbalances them (again, in my opinion).
I hope it wasn't metal armor and gloves where off. Other way it may be nasty surprice for mage, because metal and lightning doesn't really work well.thegreateski wrote...
