I've reinstalled NWN2 and SoZ several times now because I'm having a problem with the editor (vanilla, no updates) - the box where textures/water/landscaping tools are located is black and bugged, and I can't use the appearance wizard (used to work for me on another computer about a year ago) or the editor crashes.

But when I try to update, I first get these two error messages during the process

"Your game version is: 1.20.1541 English

Can not find patch file: nwn2_pcx2_english_from1201541_to1211549.zip
Can not find patch file: nwn2_pcx2_english_from1201541_to1211549.zip"

then this

"The operation timed out

The patch has been aborted"

I use Windows 7. Any ideas?

You could download the patch from NWVault and do an off-line update.

Try disabling visual themes and/or Aero as well. Apparently those cause some issues or so I've heard.

I also had trouble updating in W7-64... finally worked but not in any sort of normal sense.

Ah I didn't know you could download it from NWVault. Thanks I'll try that now.

There are like, 20 zip files to download and install. Can I get them in a compiled form somewhere?

Meanwhile, I'm going to try out your other suggestion.

edit: where exactly is the option for disabling visual themes/aero located? I can't find it in the toolset menu.

edit2: found and disabled visual themes (in the properties of the toolset launcher under compatibility), toolset work properly now. Couldn't update yet though.

If you have 1.20.1541, then you do not need all the zip files. Only the ones needed to bring you from 1.20.1541 to the current. To answer your other question: a unified single patch was never produced unfortunately.

You're right... this is very unfortunate.

As 052Hagen is finding out, it can be a real pita when the updater utility doesn't work.  And this is becoming a more and more frequent issue for people unless my mind is playing tricks on everyone.

Perhaps a link directly to the file on NWVault is in order?

Welp, it appears that not all problems are solved. Appearance wizard crashes again, preview doesn't work half the time and I can't change creature soundsets either. Off to patching file by file.
