I have done every combination, at least in ME1, but I haven't played all my Shepards in ME2. Those I consider my personal "canon" Shepards are
my very first FemShep Annaqi Shepard. She is Colonist / Sole Survivor or as you call it The Die-Hard.
My "canon" MaleShep is the last one I'll play before ME3 comes out. He has not name yet, but this is the one, were I'll put all my favourite choices into. He will be
Earthborn/War Hero, the Redeemer.
Commander Shepard: Which one are you?

Have three main playthroughs that i use: -
John Shepard - Renegade - Super Jerk i basically play him as a raging ego man thinks he is awesome treats people like crap and kills anyone he doesn't like. Even let Jacob die by allowing him to go into the shaft when be voulenteered.
Jane Shepard - Paragon - Hero. She's the goodie goodie hero who is nice to others and saves everyone she can. Saved everyone. Killed nobody when had the chance let everyone go.
Pandora Shepard - Paragade - Made a mixed playthrough and did it on feel was a Hero who always does the right thing and punishes the ones who deserve it.

I had a Redeemer soldier who became an adept in ME2; currently I've got a Die-Hard adept scheduled to become an engineer. Both are full Paragons.

My shepherd is a hero... the one femshep I play is a redeemer (but not really, she's a super *****)

The hero, through and through. No dady issues, successful living parent and a history of valour and self sacrifice.
I guess you probably figured out i'm something of a Paragon.

My main is Colonist/Sole Survivor. I like the idea that he still maintains an idealistic outlook (Paragon) despite being a cosmic plaything... and I can justify the few renegade interrupts he takes easily.
It also gives me an in-universe justification for his determination and powerful biotics.

I see what you did there

Earthborn/War Hero: The Redeemer
My main Shep most definitely fits that title. She rolled with the bad apples on Earth and ever since joining the Alliance, she wanted to atone.

I chose six different combos for my six "canon" Shepards. I tried to mix it up, and not just let the Paragon/Renegade bonuses dictate which direction that specific Shepard would go in the game.

My MaleShep is a Paragon Unlucky One, whereas my FemShep is a Renegade Hero (doesn't quite add up, I know, but oh well).

I didn't pay attention to the whole morality system when I rolled my first character, I was basing the character off of a favorite character of mine when I used to play Battletech.
Me neither. This is a bit embarassing but...at first, I had no idea background gave any morality points, I just thought it altered the way some characters treated you.
I'm amused that the Earthborn/War Hero is refered to as "The Redeemer", because that was exactly what I had in mind when I made my original Shepard. I was very close to choosing the Spacer background, since it was the only one that mentioned parents, but ultimately I liked the idea of her having done things she's not proud of.
Also made a Colonist/Ruthless. Every now and then I consider going back and playing him as a Paragon, in which case "The Avenger" would become "The Atoner". Maybe...having gone on a rampage on Torfan, reflected on his actions and realized vengence wasn't as fulfilling as he hoped it would be.

Earthborn/Sole Survivor. Mines the one that doesnt trust anyone/thing. Thats why Shiala, the rachni Queen, the council and the geth are all dead, as well as not even mixing up in quarian politics.

Earthborn/Ruthless. Granted, the Colonist angle fits that psych profile better, but I just liked the ME1 background specific quest too much. Also, Renegade points ... and yet, Connor Shepard, sarcastic bastard shotgun totter, still somehow manages to always end up maxing out his Paragon score.
Though really, I wish both War Hero and Ruthless were appropriately intimidating to Batarians, in-game. Every time one of those snarks off to me is a 'what the hell?' moment.

Earthborn/Sole Survivor
Earthborn mainly because I wanted Shepard to know what went wrong in our world and be someone who lost faith in humanity (maybe with the purpose of regaining it) I just think that humans are not the best ting that happened to the ME galaxy.
Sole Survivor because I didn't want him to be the other two.

Colonist / Ruthless.
Colonist as I like the idea of coming from the fringes of human society. I thought of the hardy independence of colonists as a symbol of humanity. Also, I liked how it tied into Ruthless.
I chose Ruthless because I had always planned to go Renegade. My Shep isn't a total jackass, but he'll do whatever needs to be done to get the job done, and the Ruthless background fits my idea perfectly.

Mine is a Spacer/War Hero Adept but I think a better description for mine in ME2 "Disillusioned Hero" or (my personal favorite) "Fallen Hero," considering that he is a hero of the Skyllian Blitz and a dutiful Spectre becoming an example to other soldiers that ends up being used as a tool for recruitment and public relations. After being discovered with Cerberus he is viewed as a traitor to many in and out of the Alliance, discredited due to the Alliance's suppressing of the truth behind the Citadel attack, and ends up undoing much of the Council's and Alliance's work (genophage, geth, etc.). He later agrees with Miranda that Cerberus should have recruited him earlier. The Collector Base decision either is a redeeming quality or he becomes a total fallen hero.

Teddy Shepard- Paragade Vanguard Girl
I love the open interpretations for earthborn
picked war hero one because I wanted to have my little underdog prove she could be something instead of orphan cast off....
Earthborn/Sole Survivor- Charlie Shepard/Adept
She's was slightly more bitter about being an orphan. Hated having no family to fall back on, and hated shore leave, being alone all the time, and the freaky looks people gave her for being a biotic
signed up for Akuze thinking it'd be a nice break from the base..... and obviously no one expected the Thresher Maw attacks... she had no intention of surviving...she just did...

My main Shepards:
Maudie Shepard - female adept. Earthborn. War Hero.
Shepard Shepard - male adept. Earthborn War Hero. (I've never quite decided on the name, even after all these years!)
So the redeemer then.
