The thing that I would be highly impressed if the could allow would be the inclusion of hair in the quarian physiology, it would clearly make them separated from the other species. As I stated elsewhere on the internet, I have many ideas about their whole physical build through evolutionary practicality (that was a mouth-full).
Legs- The legs of the quarians are long, built and their shins are recurved. This would show sprinting to be important to their evolutionary standards showing that they were most likely carnivorous in nature, this brings up the sharp vs non-sharp teeth, but if you look at Rannoch's light dust over of information, the planet has plants that relay on the larger animals to pollenate and spread their seed. This leads to their eating.
Teeth-If they are purely carnivorous, then their teeth would most likely have evolved into sharp teeth, i would expect something like dogs, but looking at the nature of the plants of Rannoch, it is safe to assume that they were more likely Omnivores which hold the back grinding teeth and the sharp front teeth for tearing. So if they do actually eat the plants on Rannoch then they would have teeth similar to humans. Teeth seem like the most reasonable evolutionary trait since most other known forms of chewing would almost be inadequate.
Necks- If you look at the necks of male and female quarians they are different. males tend to have more, to the shoulder necks while females have longer necks. Evolutionarily speaking this shows some common traits to primal survival. The males would have been more of the hunters while the females would stay back and guard the young and other protection to the homefront. Seeing as Rannoch is arid I would assume that most of planet would be tall grasses. Females would need the elongated necks to see over the grass as much as humans stood on two feet. This increased neck length allows for a better look around like a prairie dog. Males have shorter necks and the shorter necks are thicker. This would be caused from them putting their "necks" on the line more when they go out and hunt, knowing that in every environment a species of something is always stronger in some way over the other.
Fingers and Toes- I have looked at the fingers for some time. The best i have come up with is that they would forage inside of small holes or other narrow places where they needed to have slender hands. Having only three fingers would be another issue to look at. I would guess that having less fingers was simply from only needing three though it is still a tough idea. I would say it helps keeping their hand slender when they grabbed the things inside of the narrow places. Feet fit with three toes. I could see this for the fact that most species develop the same number of outer appendages on their hands and feet. (just look at your own hands and feet, unless you are horrible deformed) I would see the higher toe as more of a mating assistant, but I won't go into detail about that subject.
Eyes- Her eyes are hotly debated. Do they glow, do they act like cat's eyes, or is their implants in them. I have wondered if their eyes shared a bio-luminescence nature. During the night they glow but during the day they shine partially like cat's eyes. I would see it as a friendly greeting during the night to know who you are talking to and it could me used to finding a mate, or to recognize a mate, or to simply see in the dark. If they tint their visor, then they could solve all of those problems in one go, but the eyes are very high up on speculation.
That's all i can think of right now. Be back when I can figure out some more or if there are questions. These are open to discussion, I don't hold any of these right, they are just my opinions.
