Anyways... what sort of role do you guys think Tali will have in ME3? If she lives in your game, of course.

Squadmate.  And in my game, LI.

As for role in the squad?  I think battle-goddess Tali of ME1 is out and she'll remain a strong combat support character like in ME2.  Distraction, locking up enemies, etc.

Liara is unkillable. Tali is killable.

ME2 proved how wrong you are. You, the player, should be kept alive through the game. The fact that anyone, not just you enemies, can be killed is quite good (From my experience at least). Bioware proved how far they are willing to go by including a permanent player character death. No other character is more important than your own. If your character can die, everyones can die.

There's no reason to be like this unless you're just trying to be jerky.  Lair of the Shadow Broker has suggested that BW is committed to bringing back the characters we care about and giving them the treatment they deserve.  Tali and the entire team included.  It's unfortunate you feel the need to goad others about this.
How LotSB end? Do you remeber? Liara became the SB and tells you right up front, she won't be with you in the fray, she will be a supporter. Liara is unkillable. Tali is killable. They won't waste resources on something that will only pleese one part of the fanbase when many people won't even see it. Thus new squadmates so everyone is at the level. You can still have your romance, you just won't have her in the squad. She can do better as support character.
But that`s different Me 2 started with shepard being dead for 2 years, characters mourned and moved on with their lives. Now, they are with him and everyone knows the reapers are comming. I seriously doubt Shepard with a Tali romance would ask Tali to go away. She would stay with him on the normandy.

How about we discuss if Tali will change in personallity like Garrus did.  Does anyone have any thoughts on the matter?  Will she "harden" like Lelianna in DA:O or will she stay the same?

I see her leaning slightly on the renegade side either way Shepard behaves. She's remarkably steadfast in her own ways, she doesn't even back down to Shepard in arguments.

Yeah i would like her to take some more renegade choices as well

I was thinking she would be helping coordinate her people with the rest of the galaxy's forces to fight the Reapers at some point in the game.

Yes, I'm considering doing a Tali playthrough since the mod I made seems to work fine.

I would say it depends on how the geth/quarian war turns out. If her people become crippled by a senseless war against the geth, then I daresay that she would "harden".

I really liked the 'hardening' dynamic and I think a Geth War/No Geth War would be a great place for Bioware to explore this tool again.  Perhaps if her people get wiped out, she could become a lot less naive (see shadowbroker email) and friendly.  Not sure if that will happen in ME3 but that speculation is for the appropriate thread

There's much less of a mentor/student relationship w/ Tali than there was w/ Garrus.

Yikes, I come back from dinner and see this.

In terms of personality changes, I could see her opinion on the geth being changed slightly by Shepard. She wouldn't likely become friendly with the geth, but civil.

Okay, discussion on the squadmates returning in ME3. Has its own topic elsewhere. Use it.

I guess you are right, Garrus is way more 'moldable' than Tali.  Guess it comes from being an Admiral's daughter.  Her mean streak is fun to see (Volus!) and I hope they explore it further.

Yeah I agree. You can tell how pissed and emotional she is on the Alerai.

Given how much Tali cares about her people, the whole geth/quarian conflict is the only way to explore any character change within Tali.

She definitely has some renegade in her. The only time she really lets her guard down is the romance. I hate when people judge her entire character on just it. She isn't a pushover. She just is comfortable enough around Shepard to... I don't know how to describe it in words.

Buddha, you mentioned earlier that Tali's translator is in her helmet right? Wouldn't that imply Tali can't understand a word Shepard says when the helmets off?

I think it would be awesome to see an influence system of similar design as KOTOR 2. Upgraded of course.

Let you really shift the squadmates around a bit.

It would be the best time to do it, and could REALLY allow for the endings to shoot off.

Sorry man, but I want to see Tali and Legion become best buds and do fistbumps and stuff in ME3 :crosses arms:

Besides, they're my "go to" team most of the time. My Shepard is going to make them like each other, damnit.

If you guys would like to discuss Liara, I suggest you take it to the Liara thread. Now.

I think that people from the Liara thread came over here telling a bunch of others to do so too to make some trouble and post off-topic comments to make this thread shut down again when they found out a Tali thread was in effect again.

I was just wondering, do you need some eyes and ears for when stuff like this occurs so you can be better prepared? I want to make your job as smooth as possible Pacifen!

I second this. Pacifien if you need someone I'll help too. I want to see this thread stay open and clean.

I doubt the translator is in her helmet. Perhaps the cybernetics embedded in her body.

Then why did she speak in "english" when the helmet was off in the romance scene?

Why do I have this sudden desire to start sending awesome 80's rock to Tali's cybernetics? :?

Omni-tool backup, maybe? She has one of those small chips under her skin? I dunno.
