Her ME1 shin guards are quite different, actually.

Ok, this is a pretty good shot. Look at how tight (for lack of a better word) her shin guards are on the ME1 shot. Even if there is more room for bending at the front (just as with those other quarians' suits), there's none at the back, and if her leg were to bend at that level, it would be hampered by the 2 front bits of the shin guard (the parts with the holes), which look metallic. Wouldn't be very comfortable.

What if theres a little tail under that suit

I can imagine Tali wiggling her little tail when shes excited:O

Sorry for replying to post 10hours old, but I'd like to comment on probable Quarian anatomy origins.

Seeing Quarian legs build similar to earthy dogs or cats or in general to most placentals carnivora, it is safe to assume that they share ancestry with creatures of similar look.  So they are expected to have some remains of tail bones, even humans do. It seems resonable enough to think they may still have some short tails lest, as they presumably were carnivorous - runner predators, and tail would help them maintain stability when running.

So yes - I belive Quarains have some sort of short tail, maybe just couple inches long.

As for the whole if Quarians have hair discution, I say it is imposible to determin without seeing native Ranoch fauna. On Earth most surface animals have some, and it is Asari "baldness" which seems unbecoming and hard to explain. The question is if Quarian life style to live in sterile enviroments even before leaving Ranoch, caused body hair to retract and decline. Id say they are compleatly hairless apart to their heads.

Pure science fiction there  not all complementary knowledge there.

Dunno, the suit looks way too tight for there to be a tail under there. Also not sure why there would be one. Humans have lost theirs, for lack of a practical purpose, and I don't see what practical purpose it would serve to a quarian either, especially under a suit.

Back to the leg debate, here's the best shot I've found so far. Look at the male quarian in the foreground (dunno who he is). He has the same rigid knee guards as ME2 Tali, but a completely rounded, tight-fitting shin guard.

I think there would be just enough room, the extra forward room would compensate for the lack of room in the back.
Anyway its time for me to sleep, i have a very busy day of doing absolutly nothing tomarrow and i need my rest. Excelent debate though, thank you.

Coming in late to this part of the discussion, but, I think the most likely answer is that the Quarian concept included the digitigrade ankle joint, but the animation has never matched the intended anatomy.

Yeah, I think it would be better if the males switched shin guards with the females. Smoothly curved shin guards seems a bit feminine to me.

Hey, maybe they're just comfortable with their inner femininity? Posted Image

Still, I think that last shot is pretty good evidence that they don't have mid-shin joints. To me, at least.

Except that the turians do a pretty good impression of digitigrade.  It's not impossible to animate.

Edit:

Also:  a poll.

Man Oh Man, I just loved that black colossus armor Tali wore in ME1. Smoking in that outfit.

Did the developer's explain why her right arm looked metallic. Was this to suggest that Quarians are cybernetic?

I always assumed the "robot arm" was a field repair from when she got shot.

The general explanation behind the metal arm is that it was a field repair for the gunshot wound.

I get the feeling you pulled that out of someplace where the sun does not shine.

No explanation for the arm has ever been given.

Ever heard of the word "speculations"?

I feel that the more metallic looking arm is just like a patch or something, they ran out of material or the material was broken or damaged in some way so they had to seal it. They encased it in a cheap metal-like container since they dont have that much to work with. The tube leading to the metal arm would show some sort of pressurization or ventilation to that area. but if you look at her in ME2 the metallic arm is gone, so i wouldnt think that a whole arm was cybernetic, but i wouldn't put it past it since it is stated that they are enhanced through cybernetics.

Tali's old outfit was junk. Glad she upgraded.

I quite liked her original armour, and I thought her Colossus set was one of the best looking of the lot. The other quarian armours in ME1 I wasn't too crazy about though. Especially that yellow one Posted Image

It's not definitive, but I think in the ME1 artbook it mentioned the suits being put together from scraps for field repairs.  Also, be nice.

Edit:  And the Colossus suit was too one-note.  Even if it was hawt.

OMG dont remind me..I spent hours getting ALL my team-mates back in ME1 Colossus armor and Spectre gear, thinking that it would transfer over to ME2 and Id have some uber-items at the beginning of the game.

I was so very wrong. And that friggin Quarian Omni-Tool OMFG! I had to Bring down the sky to get one.

I really hope BW won't make a Colossus outfit for Tali in the next AA Pack. I like Colossus, sure, but I don't want it in ME2. I want something new, fresh.

If they can make it more than just red and black over the old ME2 suit, I'd welcome that with some hesitation.

I definatley like her new armour alot, especially the ornate hood she wears. But the colossus armor really complimented her figure.

Tali's ME2 armor compliments her figure more.

I don't exactly see a vast difference between the two suits when it comes to showing off her curves.

If you look up, you can see the ME1 suit was less ornate. Plus, you know, the elevator camera thing.

Tali's hood really makes me think of a cobra.
