Well... they ARE Cerberus... I kinda just supposed they get a bonus for it...

Anyways, Do you think Bioware/Tali would go into detail about the Cerberus attack on the flotilla?

No.

She did it once before. Brief, but enough.

Um, didn't they do that already in Ascension?  Go into detail I mean.

I just thought it was sort of silly that every new squad member was obligated to get into some kind of minor disagreement with either Miranda or Jacob. It got really annoying. It made my wonder why Shep kept letting them show up there when they would consistently say dumb things. I like the way the handled Kaidan and Ashley much better. If I want their opinion I have the option to ask for it. They don't parade it around even if it has 0 relevance on the topic at hand.

Yeah, it was always like:

"I don't like that guy. He looks fishy."

See if I give a rat's ass about what you or Miranda think, Jacob.
I don't. Just shut up and get back to work.

Same thing could be said about the debriefing after Haestrom. If they have absolutely nothing good to say, don't even bother.

But, that's Cerberus for ya. Bunch of idiots.

Damn Cerberus, why can't you listen! It would save me so much time...

I think it made Jacob and Miranda look dumber than they had to. It shoehorns the characters into saying dumb crap that isn't even necessary. I mean why give Jacob some random stick up his ass about mercenaries? What purpose does that serve but to produce unneeded drama and make Jacob look like an ass?  It never even gets mentioned again outside of that scene.  And Miranda's been in charge of people for years. She should know better than to provoke Jack. It makes no sense for her to do that. Again, just drama for the sake of drama. Why does Bioware feel the need to keep sticking that stuff in there?

Maybe they wanted Jacob and Miranda to look incredibly foolish on purpose.

But why? Unless you mean they were meant to be disposable. That's a tantalizing thought I must admit, but I don't know if I buy it. Though LotSB does kind of imply they ended up that way even if that's not what Bioware intended at first. I do think they were meant to be the "casual" options. But casual and dickwad don't have to be interchangeable terms by default.  That's what mystifies me.

Yes, Jacob, Miranda, and Jack made humanity one of my less favored races in Mass Effect after things like that. Jacob's general approval/douchebaggery to new squad members isn't mentioned anywhere again, and Miranda's fight with Jack is ridiculously immature, as opposed to Legion's conflict with Tali which is, about, you know, the fate of two entire races.

Back to Tali. Do you think her powers should be a little more...aggressive in ME3?

Well, while I think those 2 are disposable, but maybe they're just meant to turn you against Cerberus. It's sort of working with quite a few people. It's not necessarily that they are ridiculous, but it's really more of an example of what humanity's image is to other races.

Depends on what you mean by aggressive. I think she should keep the combat drone. She also needs some ability that deals actual damage. AI hacking sucks. That shield drain thing is only marginally better. She needs something like tech armor or something and the drone plus some kind of damage dealer like overload. That makes the most sense to me.

AI hacking would be better if it lasted longer. The drone should stay, I'm always using it when possible. I agree with the tech armor and overload, more combat oriented, less focused on whether it's organic or not.

I don't like AI hacking because 90% of mechanical enemies you encounter in ME2 get shredded inside of five seconds. It's easier to just shoot them all. In ME1 you could actually hack like geth armature and stuff, but you hardly ever fight that kind of thing on foot in ME2.

Yeah, I think she needs a power which is good no matter the target is made out of, or what protection it has. Like Kasumi's Shadow Strike, or Liara's Stasis. A unique power, which only she can use. Don't know what, but something.

*Tali hacks Geth Prime*
Shepard: Alright... Get me a Taco
*Geth Prime salutes, comes back, gives taco, then immediately starts firing*

So yes, either they improve the use of AI hacking or they replace it.

She could use a power which affects the enemies' weapons, like a power which locks down their weapons. Not overheat them, just shutting them off.

Heh. I dunno.

The only synthetic enemy I find worth hacking is the geth Destroyer. Too bad that I can count the number of encounters with said enemy on one hand.

How about something that violently overloads a synthetic enemy causing it to explode and damage nearby enemies as well?

Isn't that what Overload/Disruptor Ammo does?

Master Overload. So yes, Tali would be perfect for Overload.

Yea, but it only does area damage if you upgrade it to whatever the wide version of it is. Otherwise I think it just affects a single target. And disruptor ammo just increases damage on a specific target. I'm talking about an insta-kill attack for a single target like Kasumi's Shadow Strike that can also do AOE damage at higher levels.  Or maybe I'm pulling this out of my butt.  I hardly ever use overload.  If that's what overload does than yea, she needs overload.

Saw Kasumi do it, it's definately Master Overload, one of the ending skills for the tree.

Or, she could use her knife, jam it into the enemy, and then use Overload with her omni-tool while she's holding the knife with the same hand. Like a...less sophisticated version of Shadow Strike. :P

I agree that Tali definitely needs to stab something at least once. Maybe a geth hunter, right in its flashlight eye if she could do it without getting electrocuted. Maybe she just uses that thing as a tool for various mechanical stuff. I mean do we know it's a knife as in a large bowie type knife? Maybe she has like a deluxe swiss army knife with 18 different useful attachments in that scabbard.
