See, I take the above pic as more proof that BW is watching these forums. Remember all the complaints about Overlord, how there was no squad dialogue and only Legion got a mention?

Well, the squad dialogue is probably tougher to do (gotta get a bunch of VAs) but there's extensive reference to squadmates in LotSB. Next best thing as far as I'm concerned.

Also a reason why I don't think larger character DLCs is a good idea. Would feel empty if there are few VAs.

I get the feeling we're going to see a major expansion sometime before Mass Effect 3, theres no doubt there would be VO in that one.

Maybe not a big expansion, but several story DLCs, like LotSB.

I was thinking about Tali through both ME games and I was struck by an odd realization; I don't think we've ever heard Tali laugh. Or at least, I can't recall a time when she does.

A giggle is the best I've heard. Should be fixed in ME3, though.

She got a small half-laugh at the trial. That's about it... Should be changed in the third game.

Yes, the triumphant evil laugh as Shepard hands absolute control of the galaxy to her and the quarians! Mwahahaha! /joke

And one more thing that I've been thinking on for a while; speaking hypothetically, I wonder how Tali would deal, physically and emotionally, by being handicapped. Say, for instance, she contracted a spinal infection that caused her to lose function of her legs.

I think it would be quite a shock for her to adjust to the --at the risk of sounding callous-- "less useful" physical state. She's used to contributing more than her share to whatever she applies herself and I think being thusly handicapped would wreck her self confidence inwardly, and would result in her outwardly overcopensating.

Synthetic legs could also work.

I'm not sure it would be in Tali's character to immediately opt for synthetic replacements.

We really don't have a good idea on what kind of medical technology exists in the Mass Effect universe.

Though I doubt quarians would have extensive access to it.

Saren appeared to have a synthetic arm.

But yes, it's doubtful that quarians would have ready access to the necessary equipment.

Unless it happens when she's with Shep. Then it'd be no problem to do something like that.

But then we come to the problem of Tali being likely to overcompensate for this disability. I think it would be well in line with her character to refuse a treatment that she feels the "doesn't need".

If so, then the question becomes, would Shepard force it on her if need be?

Shepard: Tali. Your pride. Swallow it. Get your legs fixed.

Can't force anything on her. Her own choice.

Curious, is the general concensus in this Tali thread that she looks like a nightelf?
If so that makes me sadface.

I've only met one person who unironically liked that picture. Most people I've met around here just want her to have an unique alien look like the drell/turians.

Hmm, well most of the fanart i've seen depicts her as basically just a violet skinned human and the last time I bothered to discuss with a Tali fan what they wanted her appearance to be they were very much against the idea of anything as alien as say a drell or a batarian and were very much convinced she'd have a very human face.
Which I personally think is boring, if you're going to **** an alien expect it to look alien.

Some human facial traits wouldn't be that bad, but not like the asari, where it's just blue skin, some scales here and tentacles for hair.

I think something slightly more alien then a drell but not as ugly as a batarian would be a fair comprimise.

In a universe like ME, where they bring the dead back to life (idiotic plot device), I do believe they could regrow/repair damaged/destroyed body parts that Tali or anyone else might lose.
Ignoring Zaeed of course, he kept his glass eye for impact.

Thane's dossier mentions organ cloning. Wouldn't be too far of a stretch that they are capable of cloning limbs.

They have also created how many krogan via cloning? I seriouly doubt that any physical impairment would be seen in ME unless the person just had no access to any medical facilities.  Tali will be just fine.

That's the point. Do the quarians have the access to medical facilities? What about the discrimination? Would she have any money to deal with it?
Maybe Shepard could help her.

Well, Dr. Michael helped her before.  Not all people are against the quarians.  Dr. Chakwas would damn well correct anything needed or get the specialists needed and would not take no for an answer.
And, even if Tali was not his LI, he would assist in getting the aid needed.  At least my paragade Shepard would.
edit:  And the quarians have doctors and abilities as well.  They are poor, not stupid.
