Xen has be designated as non-Tali material

The original conversation was Tali's action to seeing Daro'Xen's option, but you are right. We have deviated from the allowed path.
Going back to my original question, where do you believe Tali's hood came from? Did she make it herself? Or was it passed down from a previous generation?

Isn't the swirly pattern on her suit in ME1?

As for the 'Hood' thing: I believe that it is some kind of family/clan clothing from before the morning war. Like "I wear this because I am [the leader of?] Clan Zorah." or something like that.

Interesting. So you think it is the symbol of Tali's family?

It would be neat if each family name (or ship) had its own pattern. ..almost like Scottish clans (CLAN ZORAH!)

But I mean, if it's the same pattern, then maybe it as some kind of significance to the character, either familial, or she bought a bolt of that fabric wholesale or something.

Hm. Probably just bought something to add customization then.

Too bad the other suits we see don't have the same level of owner's touch.

I wouldn't be surprised. I think that the suit colors would be better off for this job though. There are hundreds of clans. A pattern for each one would be hard to recognize.

It also may be a kind of social status thing like a crown (royalty) for hardhat (working class).

I think they should make lots of different designs to designate different ship/family clans. It would give Quarians some identity within their suits (as it gives Tali hers) and it would just look sweet.

I've always liked the purple element of her suit. Royalty and intelligence. The energy and passion of red mixed with the stability of blue.

Rael's suit was pretty generic, though.

I actually like her white alt outfit cloth better...except the orange straps are kindof out of place.

You know, maybe it is.

Like a part of a coat of arms's symbol or background of some sort.

Maybe the swirls are like the Scottish tartar patterns on their kilt and banners, to signify their family and status.

Yeah, I do beleive the swirls were on the ME1 version of the suit too.

I know, having family clan patterns is just a cool idea, don't think it will be implamented into the game though.

Isn't he a soldier though?

Tali is a mechanical genius and daughter of an admiralty board member.

Far out I am tired.

I thought you ware talking about Kal'Reegar

Either Rael'Zorah's model was not considered nessisary to be unique like tali's or a more likely senario:

Tali's hood is a family emblem passed down through generations. Most likely given to her by her mother or Rael.
Or it could be her mother's.

I realize this is a game resources issue, but I wonder just how prohibitive just a change in hood pattern would be.  Couldn't be much more demanding that palette swaps like they've already got.

I just checked on my lvl 17 Adept, squadmates have 22 points to spend, which is how much they're supposed to have.

I think people getting this may have respecced using Gibbs editor at some point (which causes you to lose the loyalty point)

Tali's hood and body pattern are all contained in 3 different texture files.  The actual color of it is in only one 1024x1024 texture.
To create different patterns you just need to create a new file and associate the different suits to which ever texture you wanted.
Rather an easy job to do but the creation of each new texture does take time.  I don't know how much but any time spent redoing a texture is time away from new one for other items/characters.
Think it's more an issue of money that difficulty.
