To be honest I don't see their relationship working out in the long term. If one of them ever wants kids it is destined to fall apart.

Apparently nobody has ever heard of adoption.

I'd expect that of Tali and Shepard. They would probably enjoy helping a small child in need of home and family. That's just the good people they are. I don't think Tali would dwell on having a child of her own or not.

A colonist/Earthborn Shepard would definitely want to adopt seeing as how both him and Tali are orphans. They would both do their best to give their adopted child a better life.

Tali is technically too old to be an orphen, but you're right about the whole give a better life thing.

It just so happens that someone might have written a little something about that...

Nice. This is really what I expected.

First heard of this on Sergio's FanFiction.net account. Really good.. lots of reading if  I choose so..

Also, who says you need to have children to be happy? My own Shepard is staunchly childfree.

If Tali and Shepard adopt a child do you think Tali would want a quarian or human child? If so, would she want a male or female?

I think, given the general plight of the quarians, that taking care of one of them might come first. But then again, I am biased.

Makes sense to me. Ensuring the future of a quarian child is more important than a human one.. Or you know, could just get one of each.

Or maybe Mordin can find a way to let Tali and Shepard to have a cross-breed. A quarian with a human immune system. I mean, if he can cure the genophage that would most likely be a piece of cake.

Mordin is not magic.  Given the deal made of the left-handed/right-handed chirality made by ME, it's unlikely they'd hand-wave that away.

Lol. I think I like you. Won't get much support here, though.

One can hope. Anyways, do you think Tali would want a boy or girl?

Curing a genetic defect that was intentionally created is way, way different than having some creepy chimera baby with two different species that don't even share the same DNA.

My Shep would want a chicka.^_^

Adopted, of course.
I know better than to trust in that kind of sci-fi science.

It's difficult to say. We don't know what kind of cachet quarian culture places on female or male children. They seem completely egalitarian with regards to sexes, which is good, since they have a one-child policy (and here on Earth, that tends to distort the gender balance).

Just to add my voice here: I really like the idea of adopted child more than biological child. Science simply can't solve everything that is impossible, even in Mass Effect universe.

And giving a home to a young Quarian orphan sound like a nice idea anyway. (Yes, I insist that the child has to be Quarian, sorry for racism Posted Image)

Well, there are two males and two females on the admiralty board, so I don't think gender plays a big role.

Tali is one highly respected quarian. My guess is that they're judging people mostly by their deeds.

Also, the quarians are very few in numbers. They can't afford to put aside potential contributers just because of their gender.

Well, if I can't have a creepy hybrid then I would want a female adopted quarian, like Raela.

Tali stated this in an elevator conversation in ME1. Gender is never taken into account on the Flotilla, when considering: "who is best for this and this job"

So how exactly is Quarian reproduction/sex supposed to work/not work?
