I can see Tali trying to learn a few words of English just in case her translator starts to spazz out.

But, like all of us, she probably only knows swears.

It could be that her desire for "it to be real" might drive her to learn more English, so as not to need even the omnitool on special occasions.

(And swears could be useful in a pinch then, too.)

Another language option is that both Tali and Shepard speak the "Galactic Trade Language" mention in the games codex. Considering that quarians basically have to travel everywhere, it would be no surprise that they would be required to learn Galactic Basic.

Yay! The Tali thread is back! =D

I wish there was a way to hear the other aliens' native tongues, and not just a few words or fragments. Plus, speaking a foreign language to your lover is sexy. Imagine if Tali came up to Shepard in bed speaking Khelish with that hot accent of yours. Oh yeah!B)

I'd like to hear Khelish, too.

Bonus points if Tali has a pet name for Shep that doesn't translate.

See, people love pet names. And accents.

Buddha, it is now your duty to come up with a suitable pet name.

An old-time poster, Scalpels, suggested "tsa'bet," and I liked that.

Too bad it's not bubbles. Love hearing her say that word.

Isn't there also some kind of trade language every species uses?

Yes, those are quite lovely.

Anyone else think those are like boots? Probably sealed to the suit, but can be taken off.

Regarding those boots, she has a combat knife strapped to them. I would enjoy seeing her use it through a DLC or ME3 cutscene, or add it as an ability/melee attack if an enemy gets close. Use Chiktikka then stab the enemy while it's distracted.

Her toes are the size of my fingers. She'd win any game of footsie hands down.

Yes Tali using her knife on a merc would be awesome.
Edit: Also, makes me wonder where it came from. Like a family member or if she actually made it herself.

Well... that would definitely qualify as a "pet" name.

I would guess she acquired it from her father, since she mentions that quarians are given gifts to help them on their Pilgrimage. Seeing as her father wasn't the sentimental or emotional type, this would be the perfect, practical gift to show support.  It would be like "Here, in case you get into trouble. Now be off, I have work to do."

This makes sense. Her father doing just enough to keep her alive and then booting her out the door.

The man sent his only daughter on a mission deep in geth space with a tiny security team. However much he cared, it wasn't that much.

Oh dear. Well, my position on the matter is that Tali loved her father, so I'll respect her view.

Present only in the female of the species, interestingly!

I call it "Keelah's Toe" 'cause when you...! Nevermind.

It's really weird how the females have it on the outside, the males don't one, and geth have one on the inside.
