Sounds cool, be sure to post up when complete. I would try drawing a sketch of Tali but Shepard has more artistic talent than me and all he does is shoot things.

I don't like the idea of anyone besides Shepard seeing Tali's face.

Careful there...that smells somewhat of fundy Muslim-ish stuff with burkhas to hide "your" woman's face from everyone but yourself. Not a pretty attitude.

Shepard wants to be able to strut around Rannoch with his arm around his unmasked Qaurian beauty one day.

Unmasked strutting may take a bit of time. Tali is a product of her culture. Privacy is something that will be difficult for all quarians to relinquish.

Right now, they have an almost internet anonymity unless they choose to tell someone who they are.

I disagree. Quarians have no privacy within quarian culture and they are disliked outside of it.

Which is what he's saying.
Quarians obscure their faces to maintain some anonimity and privacy, that privacy is also all they've got on board the Migrant Fleet, thanks the high population density and close quarters.

I reckon that even if the quarians would have their immune systems fixed somehow, and they'd get their homeworld back, a lot would still remain suited, or veiled to an extent, just to maintain the ingrained need for privacy through such manners.

Then again, if Shepard were to tell Tali how beautiful she is as much as I would, she might have the required self-esteem and motivation to walk around without her mask once it's possible.

Showing Shepard her face was an intimate act of trust. She stated that she doesn't trust anyone else.
Note: I do not endorse Islamic religions.

Once Shepard reclaims Rannoch then I dont mind all of the quarians without masks. But until then I don't want anyone else to see Tali's face.

Something tells me she would put her mask back on in public. Just a little 'Shepard only' perk. ;) I don't think she would mind friends seeing her face though, like Shala'Raan (since she saw her face when she was a baby anyways).  Regardless, Shepard has had the exclusive privilege of being the first person (outside of her parents) to see her lovely and exquisite face, ever.

I think this is apparent. She says that she never showed anyone, and that she only had an interest in showing her father and Shepard.

This is interesting, as we know that quarians are able and often willing to take their masks off in the company of their family, and can even eat purified turian food and the like. I'm guessing a lot of the reason for the quarians not taking their masks off is simple social stigma, and that such a prolonged state of said stigma has left the quarian's biologically damaged.

With Tali, it seems she only wanted her father and her mother to ever see her face. She clearly wanted to share that with her dad, who didnt' want to take the sick time to adapt to his daughter, as family members who removed their masks in their own homes might normally do, becoming adapted over time to their family and intimates.

So. Yeah. Shepard is special.

Well, Shala has seen Tali's face, unless Tali was born with a mask. I guess that doesn't count though...

Kinda sad that Tali never got to see her father's face.

Shiala, the doctors, Rael, and Tali's mother got the see her face as a kid, as others did, I'm sure, being in the bubble.

But, as an adult, it sounds like Tali was saving it up for that special moment when her dad finally agreed to do it.

It's a privacy issue. The quarians don't have a lot of personal space aboard the flotilla, so their enviro suits are both a prison and a haven in terms of personal space.

Don't the Quarians have any clean rooms on their flotilla so they can take off their suits. Do they live out their whole existence in the same suit 24/7 even on their flotilla. Wasn't the sterile environment of their fleets what caused their immune systems to weaken further?

Whatever Tali wants, I'll go with her. If she wants no one but Shepard to see her beautiful face then I support it.

They have clean rooms where they can shower, and stuff. This is mentioned in Ascension.

And really, it's less the flotilla, and more the suits themselves. If it was only the flotilla, they'd have at least adapted to living on their ships, and wouldn't need suits at all on them.

It's mostly a social problem, that entails biological ones

As Tali states in the game,"We are in our suits even with family."  also "If I take my helmet off in my own home I could die."
The game is the only real canon info we have as the books are someone elses ideas, no better than any other fanfic out there,
They live in the suits 24/7.  They do not cook at home.

Actually the Books are canon because the Writes where giving the details that where needed to write their book, by bioware. The reason stated the stay in their suits all the time is that with the age of the ships if things start to break down there is a risk of decompression inside the ship, or the very thing that killed Tali's mother could occur again. So to avoid a sudden population drop the suits are a great back up. If the ships filters fail or the hull breaches and the ships bulk heads fail to close causing rapid decompression inside the ship the suits will still ensure the crew can survive the criss.

Glade to be back after a few very busy weeks.

*Edit Add OMG Rune that is freaken LOL funny!! *

As I stated.  Tali stated canon information.  Unless Tali is lying and that means BW is lying but if they are lying are they lying now or before?
Canon can not be two different views.  ME 1 was first, in it Tali stated canon.  Sorry, but Rights to write do not mean Writing right.

I thought Drew Karpshyn was the lead game writer. He also writes both novels so he probably wouldn't make up junk to put in the books.(I don't know if I spelled his name right)
