It's a common Hebrew name, but the syllables "ta" and "li" is probably common enough to exist in combination from other languages as well.protoshepard wrote...
I know how you feel, but I am new to this entirely. I figure this will be fun. Also, I don't know if this one has been asked before, but I was talking to a friend and he thought Tali sounded Russian. I thought she sounded Arabic. Can anyone help me settle this?

..wow. That's phenomenal. Extremely sad but I think it really captures the heart of her Loyalty Mission. 2 thumbs upIwakura-Lain wrote...

Hope y'all like it.Thanks. Took me half a day trying to figure out how to remove Femshep's helmet; and I nearly got RSI from blending out the two figurines from the bright background; but all-in-all, I must admit I'm pretty pleased with the result.
I hope the opposite because they are, you know, aliensLTAshler wrote...
My personal hope is that their faces are near identical to ours, if not. I have no desire to see them look alien for the sake of looking alien.

Dont you think it is funny that almost every alien race has a biped structure, almost identical to humans? The "alien" excuse is not very relevant since you see every race in Mass Effect world, except Rachni and hanar, and maybe being generous the Elcor, are extremely close to humans.GodWood wrote...

It's a science fiction game, and for us, to be able to have empatic vinculations with characters, we have to recognice them as something we understand. That's why they are so human. Looking at tali's face through the visor it shows they have a facial structure close to humans. Maybe she will have pink fluorescent skin with blue glowish eyes and completely bald head, but that would be just a "make up" to make them look like aliens. The human structure is there, the human language is there, and the human morality is there..

To bring up another topic: In regards to the Quarian slave on Illium, what do you think Tali would do if she was in Shepard's shoes? I don't really understand the quest myself lol

You wan't quarians just to look like humans with face paint (ala asari), is that it?
Because I personally want something at least as alien as a drell, because like I said "they're aliens".

They're not as alien as I'd prefer but they are alien enough to not make me scoff at them (like the asari)Toshikii wrote...
No no, I dont want anything in particular, but, ¿Do you really think that Drell look Alien? I see a Drell and I dont think they look specially Alien, its just a slightly modified human.GodWood wrote...

I wouldn't agree with that, alot of the bipedal races of Mass Effect are alien enough. What I tried to say is that the alien concept in Mass Effect is extremely close to humans, and even if Bioware makes them look something close to drells, they will still be very human-like.
Why'd you quote me?GuardianAngel470 wrote...

They really aren't. Turians have metal in their skins and have avian leg structures, similar to the quarians, Batarians, probably the closest to humans other than the asari, have four eyes and no hair, Volus we don't know what they look like but we do know they require high pressures to stay alive, Salarians lay eggs to reproduce and have a very unique body structure (have you seen their chests?), Krogans are very different from humans in some many ways, Elcor walk on four legs, and the list goes on and on.
Bipedal is about the only similarity. Two legs and two arms, but they way they function is so different.
As for Tali's appearance, I would prefer they create something unique. I wouldn't mind if they were like the turians. Not in appearance but in uniqueness. Turians look so dang cool and so unique that something like that for the quarians would be very welcome.

Were she in Shep's shoes, I doubt she would have the same tact. My shepard persuaded through the situation, Tali just isn't that good at persuasion.
She'd likely whip out her shotgun and threaten the slave broker and make Aethyta go crazy matriarch on her.
It isn't like Tali hasn't fought a Matriarch before, but the last time she had Shepard to you know, do most of it. he is a commando after all.
