Is it a portmanteau of "Tali" and "Romancer"?

Yes.

Wish I could remember who first said it, but that was way back in... 1.0? 2.0?

Anyway, it was used as a joke, but the word just ended up sticking and has been used ever since.

Pretty sure it goes all the way back to ME1, when it was just wishful thinking.

The process is quite literally stomach-turning, but gourmands across the galaxy are lining up to try Reversal, a new gastrointestinal immunosuppressant treatment that allows dextro/levo species to safely sample each other’s cuisine. The process is expensive, lasts less than 24 [Earth Standard] hours, and the food provides no nutrition, but restaurants are already busy booking dextro/levo food parties. “It’s an adventure,” says food writer and Reversal enthusiast Livian Messalina. “We’re opening up new ranges of texture and flavor to each other. Taste still varies from species to species, but that’s part of the fun.” Doctors are warning these bold new epicures to watch out for leftovers —meals should be eaten as soon as possible, and users must purge before the treatment wears off.”

So, where are we taking her, guys?  Alternatively, where is she taking us?

Would she even be able to handle human foods? Even with that suppressant it would probably be dangerous for her to eat anything.

They can eat purified turian stuff.  Don't know why you couldn't do the same with another cuisine.  Just an extra step.

Edit:
@ Numerator:  Yeah, CDN.

Yeah, I haven't paid any attention to CDN since they got all up in arms about a Corporation taking over a planet and stayed on that topic for several weeks.

I've been playing STALKER, which just had an amazing deal on Steam.

Where did you found the character models of tali if you don't mind me asking?

I exported BioH_Tali_00, found in the game's folders using UModel. Then I imported the Skeletal Mesh in one of its maps into my 3ds Max 2011 trial using ActorX Importer.

That's really neat.

(Earthborn) Shepard is going to get Tali to try pizza. Growing up in a large city without adult supervision, you know that the guy ate a lot of pizza during his childhood. :P

With some help from Troodon80, we managed to get the texture files to work properly (I won't go into the details, but it was more complicated than you'd think):

When arranging the Emission Stack, I did notice one difference between Tali's face and the others. Which is that her forehead is bigger. (Or at least, more visible)

This is sort of a joint venture with Thundertactics... With him doing most, if not all of the hard work... and me just... sort of lending support or comments...

Well; here's my pics:

Edit: this next one seems to have caused some confusion, the placeholder face has been taken from the generic female quarian model in the background.

Meat lovers pizza, probably.  May as well overdo it, right?

Unfortunately, there probably isn't a whole lot Tali can share with Shepard. :(

Maybe her favorite fruit-based nutrient paste, or some turian food she's had in the past that she enjoys.

Although, I gotta be honest, the turians don't seem like the type whose culture would put all that much emphasis is on cuisine. I'd wager that humans and asari are the tops when it comes to that.

Don't listen to that tagline, it's not like it actually reverses their stomach or something like that.

It's just a treatment--some shot or something taken orally--that probably just suppresses immune system response (to prevent allergic reaction), and likely has a big dosage of appropriate enzymes so as to help break down the other chirality food.

But still...
Purging before it wears off? That sounds incredibly inconvenient. And uncomfortable.

I think by 'purging' it means going #2, since after a couple hours, there won't be anything in the stomach to vomit, anyway.

I wish I paid more attention in human anatomy. How long on average does it take for food to normally exit they system after entry?
I thought is was 36 hours or so. 36>24. Therefore purging would be nessisary before its natural time.

Implications unpleasant.

EDIT:

Michael Picco, M.D. says

Digestion time varies depending on the individual. For most healthy adults, it's usually between 24 and 72 hours. After you eat, it takes about six to eight hours for food to pass through your stomach and small intestine. Food then enters your large intestine (colon) for further digestion and absorption of water. Elimination of undigested food residue through the large intestine usually begins after a total of 24 hours. Complete elimination from the body may take several days.

Sounds like users of this treatment will have to take a laxative to jump start the purging, then. :P
