Hey guys, could Tali be like a roach? Does the Quarian homeworld have a lot of radiation from it's sun? I was thinkin, if the Quarian homeworld's sun emits lots of Radiation, it might be cheesy but Id say some sort of Roach species would evolve. Maybe Tali is covered in Bug Armor?

It seems unlikely. There is no insect life on Rannoch, so they probably don't have bug features. Based on the placeholder and what we know about their physiology, there's a good chance they are mammal analogues.

"I need to feel your skin against mine."

Also, Rannoch's sun does not emit lots of radiation, that's Haestrom's sun. (Haestrom was a former quarian colony, not their homeworld, and the radiation only came around later on)

Rannoch's sun is similar to Earth's, but "more orange", according to Legion.
Which classifies it as either an older class G star, or a class K star. (Our sun's a class G star)

In my time lurking the Tali threads (since around midway through 4.0), it has come to my attention that many people love Tali for many reasons.  Some hold certain reasons above others, everyone has their favorite thing about Tali.

I think the most prominent reason for the Tali love is her character.  The strength of her character, her ideals, her choices, even her flaws, come together to create one great package.  She is a sort of ideal, Tali embodies what many of us would see as a perfect girl.

But just because Tali has a great personality, doesn't mean she can't look great too.  In fact, a certain aspect of her physical charms has garnered an alarming amout of attention.  " What could that be?" you ask.  Well, it is:

DEM HIPS.

Tali's rockin' bod' (pardon the common speak) is a hard standard to meet in the real world.  Unlike her personality, it would basically be futile to hold out for someone who reaches the awesomeness level Tali reaches on the good looks scale.  Some bits and pieces can be found here and there, but to find the whole package would be a miracle, so we'll have to settle for one or two things.  But here we come across a problem.  The Talimancers favorite physical aspect of Tali,

DEM HIPS,

are so perfect that finding DEM in the real world would be just as hard as finding that entire package I mentioned earlier.

But, in spite of the terrible odds,  I have found them. And they are amazing.

Let us rejoice in the glorious occasion, for

DEM HIPS

are real!

Real I say! :wizard:

Tali embodies everything I wish I could find but believe I won't. Appearances are great and all, but it all comes down to trust, character, intellect, and flaws. Everyone has flaws. Without flaws, you are not human, for lack of a better word at the moment. Tali's add to the dynamics of what makes her such a great and lovable character.

I had a feeling right from the first Mass Effect that Tali wanted to be more than just friends...and in ME2 i was pleased that a romance was possible becauase Tali seems to be the only nice and loving female Character in the whole series...

Speaking of Tali's hips, while she is shapely, I always seem to exaggerate her features in my memory. In my mind, hip heaven, in game she's actually rather athletic. Is this happening to anyone else?

Bioware had, according to Casey Hudson, intended to make Tali a LI in ME1, but at some point early in development changed their mind due to the assumption she wouldn't appeal to the fans. It's debatable if she's merely being friendly, or hinting at something more in the game as a result.

If there had been a romance subplot however, the ending of the Geth Incursion quest would've probably been the  time to trigger it. Luckily, fan demand on the forums led to them including her in ME2.

I really don't buy the "Tali was originally meant to be a LI" thing. Unless it was like a really early concept before Liara existed.

I can believe that it was planned for the second game, maybe. Not sure about anything else.

It was axed probably somewhere in the period of time after they designed her, but before they decided on love interests.

And then having the romance in ME2 made people go back and examine her lines to see if there was a clue in ME1. Then LotSB comes along and validates the theory with Liara saying she was taken with Shepard from the beginning.

So, it's likely nothing in ME1 was meant to convey romantic interest, but ME2 retconned it.

Formally, an action can only be said to impose "retroactive continuity" if it explicitly supplants a previously established plot point.

So you are correct that nothing in ME1 was meant to convey romantic interest, but what ME2 does is a classic "reveal", possibly in conjunction with a deliberate misdirection. But in this case, it isn't "retconning".

There are about to be a whole lot of new people exposed to the awesomeness of Tali when the PS3 crowd start playing. I am curious to see what the reactions of people new to the franchise will be, especially since many of these people won't have had the ME1 relationship with Tali unless they had access on a non PS3 source.

Indeed. Hopefully we won't be too  swamped with having to explain the story, what with the comic and all, but they won't have the full characterization of Tali.

Well, a lack of ME1 would mean not having the experience of gradually developing feelings for her. And not having to come to terms with the devastating realization that your feelings are not reciprocated. And then not having to rationalize your feelings away, and convince yourself that you're okay with that.

And you're spared the rather jarring poignancy of suddenly running into her on Freedom's Progress, and the mixed feelings of sadness, shame, and resentment toward the situation Cerberus' placed you in when she leaves again after that.

But on the other hand, without all that, you'd also be denied the feeling of quiet joy that comes from having your old friend back after Haestrom. And you'd miss completely the most jaw-dropping, heart-stopping, pupil-dilating "WHAT THE **** DID YOU SAY?" moment of all, following one of Kelly's "unsolicited comments and prying" sessions.

Which, really, made all the misery a price I'd have paid over again a thousandfold.

So on the whole, yeah, it seems like a lot of PS3ers will be missing out.
