This is probably the most logical place to make a quick comment on something I realized about the Quarians. Everybody in the galaxy with even a passing interest would know exactly what the Quarians look like. I don't always read the codex entries very well, but I was going through and reading them and the one for the pornographic magazine you can pick up (Fornax) says that it routinely has both male and female Quarian entries. Unless the spreads are entirely suited, which seems pretty unlikely, that means anyone with an extranet connection and thirty seconds could probably find every last detail on what a Quarian looks like presented in full holography and surround sound. Given that the whole galaxy knows what Quarians look like it wouldn't make any sense for Bioware not to reveal that in the third installment in at least a general way, whatever they decide to do with Tali.

They have already said (though I take it with a grain of salt, KH says a lot of bull) they know what she looks like. That's a good indication to me.

It would be cool to see what they think Tali looks like in the third game.
But I can see it contrasting alot of people's personal ppicture of her.

A quick follow up on my comment about Quarians in Fornax and I will drop it so we can stay Tali focused. It has seemed to me there has been this mysterious Quarian appearance vibe running through the game and for Tali in particular. That has felt to me like setting up a big reveal for ME3 and I am in the camp of folks who would like to see Tali without her helmet. Even Matriarch Aethyta makes the comment about waking up one day and no one remembering what Quarians look like without their suits. Except everyone knows what Quarians look like without their suits because probably nearly every patron at the bar has seen current pictures of Quarians in multiple sexual positions. It's one thing for something to be a mystery in game as in "What do the Quarians look like? No one knows for sure anymore" as opposed to "Everyone knows what the Quarians look like, but we're not going to tell the people playing" which feels much more like a really ham-handed manipulation rather than a mystery to be discovered. An analog would be if everyone in the galaxy already knew the Collectors were Protheans, but no one would say it in the dialog. That would make the big reveal on the Collector vessel feel more like you were finally told what everyone else already knew rather than that you discovered something cool and amazing. This is similar for me to the annoyance I felt when Shepard looked at Tali's face, but I the player saw nothing. Shepard is supposed to be my surrogate for the game experience and the idea that he has seen something that I can't just seems goofy. I would rather Tali kept her helmet on until the third installment than have that dynamic. Okay, I'm done ranting now.

They could slowly lead the player troughout the Story to Talis face revelation with a few hinches that would form the players imagination of Talis face in the way Bioware wants it and needs it to please everyone with her appearance.

The best thing they could do is first add a few dialogues with specific statements about the Quarians looks...do they got hair, what skin color and so on. The player would be totaly cool with it. And without even noticing we would start to adjust our image of Talis face in our head in the direction Bioware wants to.

Second Step is to show us a Quarian without a helmet...a male one would be best. We would accept what we see because we already got the information from the dialogue and would see it now confirmed. The real Question in our head has always been how TALI looks like...not how the Quarians look like ;)
...so we would not really care how that quarian looks like because hes not important...not our beloved character.
So doing that Bioware would adjust the picture of Tali in our head even more in the direction they want it.

Step three would be best to show several unmasked quarians on one location...burning that quarian picture in our head.

Step four is to show us Talis face then in an emotional scene where we are bit distrected by drama. We would see Talis face with a strongly reduced chance of us being disappointed because Bioware slowly lead us to that moment.

This might lower the actual impact of revealing Talis face but it should rise the possibility of most players being pleased with it a lot!

Agreed. Great logic, this would be great advice to BioWare.

I personally think that there're more probabilities that simply we'll see Tali's face during a climax cutscene. I just hope that we'll be an happy moment and not a "I wanna see you with my true eyes for the last time" one...

I have read somewhere else that some people were discussing this and something similar to this was stated. It would be a great way to do the reveal, but it would make me depressed beyond all reason. Theirs was that you were on a mission with Tali and Garrus as forced squad. The reapers are attacking and you are being chased by husks. Tali gets hit by a beam from Reaoer bombardment and ends up unconcious with a broken mask. You see part of her face and realize she will probably die if you don't save her. You go to help and Garrus gets surrounded. You can only save one. I love Tali, but I love Garrus in a different way. I would choose Tali, but it would tear me apart.:(

Considering how cathaclismatic the Reaper War probably will be I guess we had to calculate this kind of scenarios... I just hope that with so many chars involved the choice won't be between them.

I read about that and I became very upset. It was the kind of choice like the Kaiden/Ashley choice on Virmire. This would be a harder choice though because you have had more time to develop a bond with these characters. The fact that it is Tali or Garrus would make it harder.

Much as I liked leaving Kaidan to die, if they do it again it'll feel cheap.

while this might be true,
i think it would feel less cheap if they did it in a different way. if that can at all be done.

back on topic,
seeing Tali's face just because she might die would make me one very:

I still think it will be the players choice weather or not you see Tali's face. Like with the strippers. [lean forward] = front view. [relax] = rear view.

Just more romantic, no naked Asari in your face this time.

Just some way of including a function to move the camera.

I have no doubt in my mind that BioWare will come up with something new, they know how to write (at least for the main games).

I want to see any quarian's face, but I feel more than a want to see Tali's face. If she is not what I expect though, I won't be disappointed or mad. I will enjoy knowing what I have wanted to know. I was more attracted to her personality, intellect, and accent than the mystery behind the mask.

This. It only adds to the experience knowing.
