I have a question about Tali's intelligence. Do you believe she's as intelligent as the average quarian or that she's exceptional even amongst the quarians (I tend to see quarians as being one of the more intelligent species...I'm sure this is debatable buy I'm explaining my views).
I just feel as if her intelligence is underplayed in game. I'm very much drawn to intelligent characters, which is a large part of the reason I like Liara and Miranda as characters. With those two, I like that we can gleam from a few conversations with them that they are exceptionally intelligent in comparison to the average human or asari. I really don't get this feeling with Tali, but I feel as if I should get it and that I should appreciate her as much as I do the other two characters for having an abundance of smarts.
Isn't it stated directly in the game that she is a genius even among her people? Don't want to bore the commander with technical things. She built the shield upgrade from things she already knew, that is more than good enough for me.Collider wrote...

The quarians are noted mechanical geniuses. Tali has had the absolute best training among her people, and is noted to be one of their very best.
That should speak volumes.

Not to deconstruct the question, but Tali is kind of a special case: in ME1, we simply don't have an average quarian to compare her to.Collider wrote...

Would have been a great opportunity to show some of that off in overlord <_<RedTracer7 wrote...
Simply put, Shepard doesn't come across that many problems requiring an in-depth knowledge of shields or artificial intelligence.

As CC said, it is stated in text on the suicide mission selection screen. It's just a failure to express it.jlb524 wrote...
Hey! That's my question! XD
I guess I was wondering if Tali's intelligence was exceptional even amongst the quarians. If so, I wish this would be a bigger part of her character as depicted in game. With Miranda (and Liara) I feel this is the case and I like this a lot. I am the type that loves extraordinary smart women in literature or mediums like video games. But, I've often wondered why I don't like Tali for the same reason? Is it b/c she doesn't posses intelligence beyond the average quarian or that it just isn't ever explicitly shown much in game? I'm leaning towards the latter. If so, I think it should be shown off more, as that could be an interesting part of her character (at least, to me).

There was the comment about her being a quick learner about the ship, that probably should have hinted towards it a little.RiptideX1090 wrote...
