I agree.  On the disc and in the game are not the same thing.

This is unfortunate sometimes, since otherwise we'd know that turian females don't have "funny bumps."

But not in this case.  Cut dialogue is cut for a reason.

Fair point, Buddha.  But I think some cut material is still supported by other stuff in the game.  Funny bumps makes sense.  That was the general consensus before that dialog ever showed up.  I don't see as much evidence for that other stuff.  And I still wouldn't use "funny bumps" as actual evidence.  More like a bit of flavor added to other evidence.  I wouldn't use it as the pillar of an argument.  And that stuff on the disc is the pillar of the argument for f/f with Tali.  Anyway, yea, this kind of discussion rarely ends well.

My point remains that Tali's dossier initially made me feel uncomfortable.  I have since explained it to myself in such a way that it makes since without being weird to me, and maybe it was wrong for me to feel discomfort, but that doesn't magically mean I didn't feel it.

There are elements of humor there, but big deal. A little humor makes tough subjects go down easier.

BW alway's do it when it's needed, a little humor is good.

The first couple of pages of this thread have some discussion of the matter and yeah, glitch or not, there are reasonable ways to explain the ubiquity of the dossier.

It isn't a problem or 'wrong' that you felt that way (or any way reall).  It is just that her actions are reasonable for an adult in her situation (suit, suicide mission, etc.)  Besides, this information was not 'meant' to be seen by anyone.  As private information, I think it is normal to feel a bit unsure when reading it.  Sortof like if I found the 'true' internet histories of some of my closest friends - there might be some uncomfortable revelations.

well, the nerve stim may also be explained with Kal'Reegar...if you keep him alive that is. I just keep telling me that that's why she kept installing and uninstalling. and the info about the human mating was just curiusity because she feels so unexperienced and wants to surprise him with some special techniques she's learned during her time with humans ^_^ that's my explaination for my FemShep.

EDIT: correcting some typos...my sick brain needs to get home so it can recover from today's work -.-

Any relationship with Reegar would need:
a) Changes to Tali and Reegar's characterization
B) To be placed in the epilogue of ME3

And to be honest, I'm pretty sure the guy's in his late 40's. First time through the game I thought he was supposed to represent the father Tali didn't have.

I honestly can't see why some people want to pair him with Tali so badly. He's just a normal marine.

I'd prefer to explain the dossier without invention RE: a character in an obvious subordinate role. You can say that it's Tali trying to understand femShep's behavior better without resorting to 'shipping.

When BW wants you to think a character likes someone, they make it real obvious. Look at Kasumi/Jacob.

well you know, I couldn't see why people wanted to romance Tali so badly....she was just a normal quarian!
I wasn't saying they HAVE to be a couple. I mean, my Brian Shep romanced her. But for my FemShep that's just an explaination when she found the Tali dossier because she was confused as well. That simple. Not trying to offend anyone ^.^

Besides, from a female stand point....Kal is hawt! dat voice!!!!!!!!!

Pretty much, the nature of the beast (Internet) means anyone she's even slightly polite to will get a "crack pairing".

And being mean to someone is disguised longing.

I didn't find Tali having nerve stem to be weird.  Unexpected, perhaps, but certainly not weird.  It was specifically the combination of having it, constantly flip-flopping on whether she wants it, watching human mating vides, and acting flustered when femshep talks about linking suits that weirded me out.  Tali having a sex drive isn't alarming.  Tali having a thing for my femshep isn't really alarming either.  I don't have a problem with that.  Heck, I just got through roleplaying a femshep that is with Liara.  Tali having a thing for femshep and never saying anything about it makes for a weird bit of awkward data in the back of femshep's mind, however.  It's a constant, uncomfortable unresolved issue that would leave femshep over-analyzing everything Tali does.  I don't want it to go away.  I want it to get addressed.  There are two ways I can make myself comfortable with this.  A) getting to address it with Tali.  B) choosing to interpret the data in such a way that it means something besides Tali being interested in femshep.  Since I can't have A, I chose B.  But my initial gut response was "Tali likes my femshep?   She's her best friend!  What the crap do I do about that?!"

it would make more sense if Tali paired up with Garrus, if you didn't romance her and Garrus wasn't taken.

but I don't really see the problem with her ending up with Reegar either.

Usage of the word 'dat' is forbiddin by Woo.  More importantly, I think that no matter who Shepard is (female, LI, etc.) Shepard wasn't meant to see those records so who knows what Tali was thinking (it gets easier if you romance her)

Or Tali's logs on Haestrom, Kelly's little chat with her and Kasumi's gossip.

So yeah, really obvious.Image IPB

I would stop thinking about it because let's face it we can't talk to Tali about it, maybe in ME3 or if the romance pack is reallesed.

but really stop thinking about since there's nothing you can do about it.

*sigh*
*looks at her sig*
*pleads guilty*

I explained my reasoning in Clan Z, but here it is again:

Since I mostly play FemSheps, I would like Tali to find herself a nice guy eventually. As things stand in the games, Kal is the most eligible quarian male we get to meet. I'm not sure where people get the "he's in his 40's" impression, but that's not the vibe I got. He seems a tad too impulsive for someone that age (the way he behaves with the Colossus, telling the Admiralty Board that they're a bunch of a-holes if Shep chooses to rally the crowd, for example). Also, it seems weird that Tali would want to be on first name basis with someone that much older, rather than simply respectfully sticking to calling him by his last name.

I'm not saying that either Tali or Kal have a crush on each other in the game, because they don't. I know that, and I'm not over-interpreting what is there. At most, Kal vaguely expresses interest by hesitating to admit that he stayed on the Rayya to defend her in her trial. That's it. Tali simply shows that she'd like to know him better, which could perfectly well simply be friendly/civil/grateful.

All I'm saying is that, out of all potential males other than MaleShep Tali could be with (and it would be much easier for her to find herself another quarian), Kal strikes me as a good choice. If only he'd loosen up and take charge a bit more.

That's it. I'm definitely not saying that they're meant to be, or that it was love at first sight, or that Tali's simply deluding herself by thinking she's in love with MaleShep.

As for pairing her with Garrus, I, for one, never thought that they were friends. He was borderline racist to her in ME1 at first, and she doesn't actually seem to enjoy his teasing in ME2, IMO.

I think the rumor about the Romance Pack has pretty much been put down.

And that's all it ever was. A rumor. BW just said that they'd think about it.

Hah, Clan V can tell you that telling me to stop thinking about something is like telling a krogan to stop fighting or telling a quarian to stop debating.  The only way I can resolve something is to reach a conclusion.  If I don't it simply won't go away.  It will eat a hole through my head.  As I said, I drew a conclusion already that is satisfactory to me.  Now I am just discussing my initial reaction to the dossier.

At least we can hope for LotSB to set the standard for ME3 romance content.  Never thought a romance pack was that saleable anyway, especially with the variability in the game.

I kind of think that LotSB was the romance pack in some ways. After all, the dialogue and whatnot made me feel even better about Tali than I already did.

True.  Loved reading the SB info and telling Liara that I'm fighting to give Tali a homeworld.
