Best. Interrupt. Ever.
Frankly, I wish every conversation with Tali came with that option.

You and the other several thousand of us. =P
Speaking of the Alarei, I had enough Renegade this time around on my 4th playthrough to choose the second Intimidate option during the first part of Tali's trial (The part after they spring news about her father). 'Tis much better ripping Zal'Koris than trying to be polite.

I like the intimidate options during her loyalty mission too. Even as a paragon. Because hey, you're defending a good friend.LordPennlocke wrote...

Not really, no. It's debatable whether they're even friends, let alone potentially romantically linked.XX55XX wrote...
I've just got an idea for a fanfic - do you guys think that it's possible for Tali to romance Garrus, possibly?

I tend to agree with this. The whole "This discussion is over" and "I have a shotgun" don't really portray any real friendship. I don't doubt that they are friends (The "Just like old times Garus" on Omega suggests that they are, but you can't normally hear that), but romantically? No.Volrath937 wrote...

I am under the opinion that it is Shepard(the player) and Tali, or no one.

not really. Tali loves Shepard and only Shepard. her relationship with garrus is just as a friend.XX55XX wrote...

If you are curious about what the reaction might be, I think there's one of these in ff.net already (though the world might be ready for something better-written). Write whatever you like.XX55XX wrote...

Personally, I'll echo what others here have said, but not in a knee-jerk fashion. Tali loves a leader. It's the daddy issue. Garrus is always going to be second banana.

Depends on how you're gonna portray it. It'll take an exceptional build-up, and some astonishing writing skills, to make it even remotely believable.XX55XX wrote...

Garrus and Tali might not even be real friends; they respect eachother, sure. They have this connection built by the way they have to rely on eachother in battle, and there's a certain feel of nostalgia after ME1. But friends, let alone romantic involvement, is a very long shot.
Note, there's a fic on ff.net where Tali's portrayed as an emotionally retarded child who instantly jumps Garrus' bones and conveys her "love" to him after Shepard dumps her for utterly arbitrary reasons.
Don't be that fic.
But really, there are better subjects. And even though I know nothing of your earlier work, I seriously doubt you'd be able to pull it off properly.
I suggest you do some in-depth research on Tali's character first, too. (Don't base her character off her romance scene like so many other fics, where she's awkward 'n all. Tali's headstrong, intelligent, caring, and competent. She has plenty of character flaws that make her believable, don't ignore any of those aspects.)
edit:
And really, I'm not sure if you're this kinda person, but I feel like I should mention it:
Just because a male (or robot resembling a male >_<) and a female acknowledge eachother's existence in a piece of fiction, does not mean they are romantically involved, or that you should "ship" them.

I'm thinking about having Shepard die, which may allow Garrus to take a leadership role in defeating the Reapers. However, you guys are right, this is going to take some serious skills and I might not be quite up to it.
I have a ton of school projects to do at the moment, but I'll revisit this in a few weeks time...
The reason I thought about this is because there is a lack of inter-NPC romance fiction on FF.net and elsewhere. It's all about Shepard and Tali/Garrus/Thane/etc.

Almost any pairing can be done well in the right hands.
And "right hands" would have to go pretty far for some.
Most fanfic writers do not qualify for this.
And those who do are smart enough to realize it's not worth it.
And Kasumi/Jacob is a sort of inter-NPC romance, you could work on that if you really want to.
Don't screw with another person/company's intellectual property just because of your personal desires. (Shipping characters is not a good thing. Fics like those are some of the worst to roam the internet.)
Feel free to add to an existing formula, flesh things out to your liking, but do not use existing characters and skew their format to your liking just because.
An alternative would be using original characters in the same setting, rather than a grotesque amalgamation of a character's former self (Sometimes it's just the name and history, really. That's how little attention some people pay.) combined with whatever the heck went through your head at the time.
This is not a personal assault directed towards you. But I really hate baseless shipping.
edit:
Oh, and should you wish to respond. I'd appreciate it if you did so through PM, I don't want to clog up the thread with more of this stuff.

what is your favorite tali ff?
i had one or two, but it's been a while and i forgot the name of the one.
however, the tali and shepard fanfics by Calinstel are pretty good imo,
in that "d'awwww" sorta way.
even if some people don't like the main antagonist that develops.

I was just seeing what options a Paragade playthrough brought, and I can say that it will be the one that I import to ME3. Tali doesn't mind Shepard being ruthless to some random mercs (cue Renegade Interrupt during Miranda's loyalty), going to die no matter what. Lol
And my favorite fic so far is sergio's "Adamo". Seamless transition from ME1 to 2.
