I've never seen this, perhaps I have misjudged her!BossumBuddy wrote...
Tali is awesome to take on a date, she can open a lobster in two seconds and then scoop out all the meat with her claws, what a woman.

Random question: Does anyone have a preferred skill set for Tali? I kind of fail at choosing which powers to level up.

There's a lot of debate on whether explosive drone or combat drone is the correct choice. The usual consensus seems to be explosive on the higher levels of difficulty.AdmiralCheez wrote...

At any rate, I like advancing the combat drone all the way because it's a cool and flavorful power for her. Even has a name and all.
I do whichever passive skill evolution doesn't provide the large weapon damage, because squad weapons are nonsense, but I do want her to have high health/shields.

Do hope she gets to use the knife in me3, at least in some sort of cut-scene. Would be neat to see some of the cqc training she received with it.

Ai hacking is very situational so I'd either not bother with that or at most put a single point in it. I also wish that Energy Drain would do more shield damage. Would make sense for Tali.
Energy Drain does actual damage to unshielded synthetics as well.

The only enemies it works on are geth platforms, as far as I remember, and they have very low health. Once the shield's down, using a squadmate ability on them seems like a waste when a few bullets could finish it. Easier just to ignore it and pump the other abilities up, in my opinion at least.Collider wrote...

It does? Hmm, I had never bothered to test it. Still, I'd favor damage output than the shield regen. At least for squad mates. Many of them are just squishy to begin with, so a bit of extra shielding won't do much. Now, if energy drain returned shields for the entire squad including Shepard, that would be fantastic. Would fit nicely for the loyalty theme as well.Killjoy Cutter wrote...

I have no comment on AI Hack. I play infilShep and like running w/ Tali, so there's no need to have two hackers in the squad. Except for the lulz, I guess.AdmiralCheez wrote...
All-rightly, then, I'll try a run with no AI Hacking. As for the drone, Legion's is the one that goes kaboom, so I'll stick with combat for Tali. Thanks for the input!

Quick question.
How many of you bring Tali along to Feros, Virmire, and the final fight in ME1 so the lines in ME2 work better.
Without it the lines really seemed well off since she was not really there for it.
I did in my most recent save, but I'll admit that was mostly to get the achievements for playing through the majority of the game with her (and Liara) in my party.
It's too bad that she isn't into FemShep. She's the only one I'd cheat on Liara with, so this FemShep will go without love, just like the previous one. (Until I play LotSB, I guess.)
But, yes, Tali. Looking forward to picking her back up. The second wave of recruits can't come soon enough.

And there are quite a lot of missions in which Energy Drain is glorious. Blue Suns (or the black mercenaries on DLC) are, you know, EVERYWHERE. And Geth do appear in some missions too.
I use Energy Drain for my Vanguard myself, and with Tali when I bring her with me. In insanity you can't afford to use Charge that often so I use Energy Drain instead. It's a Life Saver. And Tali makes good use of it (if she doesn't spam her drones).

for the sake of distraction. let's you get a few shots off.
Maybe one point into AI hacking.
The rest into her power recharge bonus, and what's left into shield drain.
it works well for her with my Shep, seeing as she rarely get's knocked out.
