Rather than write up a huge paragraph on why Reegar, Garrus, Legion, whoever people want to try to pair her with, are wrong, I'll just say that based on my interpretation of current characterization, we have yet to meet a male that possesses the things that Tali required to begin a relationship with Shepard.

As for a romance pack, Bioware has stated repeatedly that romances are not the focus of their games. They are intended to be a fun side-thing, so given that they seem to be gearing up for major storyline DLC, I wouldn't hold out on it.

Do people think that by telling Liara that you are fighting to give Tali a homeworld that we might ACTUALLY get a chance in ME3? That would certainly make a fine gift for Tali.

I kind of think that LotSB was the romance pack in some ways. After all, the dialogue and whatnot made me feel even better about Tali than I already did.

This.  I loved this DLC on like four hundred levels, but I was especially glad with all the romance and character content we got.  Anybody who thinks Bioware ignores fans and the forums needs to play this DLC pronto.

True.  Loved reading the SB info and telling Liara that I'm fighting to give Tali a homeworld.

Must say was favorite part out of entire DLC.

Hmm...had they also included stuff about the Kaidan/Ashley romances, I would've said that you were on to something.

But yeah, all the talk about giving Tali a house back on the homeworld, both from Shep and from her dad does make me hopeful for ME3. It would really be a heartwarming conclusion to her story arc, at least.

Fair enough, and I do agree that Kal would have to change to fit the purpose better, but I still think he has the best potential of the lot. But yeah, I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, so I'll cease and desist. I know it's a touchy topic.

I agree with you about guys and Tali.  It's dudeshep or else some guy we have not yet seen in-game.  But I do understand Nilf's desire for Tali to get somebody.  If dudeshep doesn't exist in a particular canon as in mine, I would still like Tali to find someone who makes her happy.  Doesn't mean it will happen or must happen or anything.  I just hope it does because she deserves it.

And I don't think she'd be a good match for Garrus, but I also think she gets along with Garrus fine as of the end of ME2 and they are probably friends if for no other reason because of mutual affinity for Shepard.  I think she didn't like him in ME1 but I think that gradually shifts as things go along.

As for romance DLC, the most that was ever stated was that some Bioware devs were okay with the idea.  They never said they would actually make it, only that some of them were cool with it in theory.

Argh.  I knew I'd forgotten something.  Yeah, I'm ready for a DLC for the Ash/Kai folks, too.  And of course, the references to everyone's favorite quarian that it might contain!

The best part was Liara admitting that she didn't want more competition in ME1.  That made me smile.

I kind of got that vibe as well.  Her "Good to see the destruction of all life will improve your career opportunities" line was pretty barbed.  That and a C-Sec officer probably isn't the first person she'd look to for help/friendship.

But the antagonism seems to have moved into the "playful" category by ME2.

I hope so and I also hope it's not DLC even though the SB DLC was great and all (I haven't played it but I have seen the walkthrough), I don't think it would be a very good as DLC and there's possiblerty that some countries like with SB DLC can't buy it and download it it would be a shame for that to happen.

It was kind of alarming that he didn't know why Tali had to wear her helmet in ME1. C-Sec not training their people to know basic facts about other species could lead to tragedy.

As per the Lia'Vael conversation, the most C-Sec seems to know/care about quarians is that "they're always trouble."

Tali's lucky she managed to attach herself to the Normandy so quickly, really.  Even if she'd gotten away from Fist, she didn't have a lot of places to go.

Indeed. I think the anti-quarian sentiment in the ME-verse is stronger than we get to see, unfortunately. If they're generally considered as vagrants, I can see C-Sec not giving much of a damn about anything pertaining to them/their safety. Image IPB

So yeah, all the better for Tali.

It's just amazing that they don't take 4 seconds during basic training to say, "Quarians have very weak immune systems and cannot remove their suits."

Yes, she was very lucky. Girl had Saren and the Shadow Broker ready to kill her when Shepard pops up.

Anybody else think it is funny that without a couple of quarians (Tali and Veetor) Shep would be stumbling around in the dark in both games?

wow, all because I stated how my FemShep interpreted the logs xD Didn't know Tali and Kal were such a sensitive subject to discuss. All the more reason for me to go on about it *coughs* xD

Anyway, in my canon, Kal and Tali make a great couple, if they decide to go for it. I'm not pushing them anywhere towards this direction. For Brian Tali is the right girl. I still got the save from before the DLC so he can undo the things he's done with Liara ^_^

I really do like the dossier about Tali. I mean she's grown up just like the rest of us.

I don't see the funny part.

I like the idea that the quarians provide the nescarsery info that Shepards need.

Ha! That's an excellent point you've got there Image IPB

Without Tali, Shep wouldn't have had evidence to incriminate Saren at all.

And without Tali, Shep wouldn't even have known Veetor was on Freedom's Progress. And without Veetor, no evidence of the Collectors being there.

Conclusion: Tali is the saviour of the galaxy.

It is kind of interesting that they made the choice for the vital info to come from another quarian in ME2.  And for Tali to be involved in that reveal as well.

There's probably something thematic going on there.  I need to think about that.

It's not my favorite subject and I think it's not a great fit, but we probably shouldn't stifle you on the matter.

I'm ridiculously fond of Tali/Kal. Mostly because I wish Kal was a romance option and I have no attachment to Shep. He tends to get fobbed off on Tali when I write, but it's mostly a convenience.

Funny as in "amusing" not as in weird.

Yeah a romance option *dreams* *coughs* where was I? Oh yeah, Tali's role!

I liked how Tali always stood up for herself. When Ash referred to her as "the quarian" in ME1 and she said "My name is Tali!" .... that girl has guts! I like that about her. Or how she tells Prazza to go stick it where the sun don't shine because she's in charge? I love that! And I always save this assignment until I've recruited her just because it is full of win ^_^ Tali is just plain awesome and I adore her! No matter who she's with, Shep or someone else.

I like Kal a lot, but I never thought about Kal/Tali. I first saw that on the forums and was surprised that people took it that way. Likewise, I wasn't attracted to him beyond a "this guy is cool" thing. However, I will say that I didn't quite get the Tali vibe while there was just the one female quarian around. Then, the male quarians showed up and well, I started to get it.

Does Tali have anything unique to say to Ken on Omega? I never have her with me there.

I didn't get it until I started playing my Brian Shep who romanced first Liara and then Tali and I went to talk to her all the time ^_^ and took her with me everywhere.
