Precisely. I am confident that the art team can make something unique, exotic, and as a whole alien and fit the descriptions of quarians thus far at the same time, if that is their goal. Which I hope it is!Alienmorph wrote...
Yeah. I'd like to maintain their face more uman-like, but then there are the ears, the shape of back of the head, the eventual equivalent of hairs (what if they had short feathers instead of them, for example?) and the eventual facial implants that they can have to link theirself to the helmets. There are much possibilities to make Tali with a beatiful face in human canons but still having her general appearance truly alien.

I agree! Tali wouldn't have so much character built in her just to look bland in the end. Plus after Shepard takes off her mask he lovingly smiles so we know Tali looks at least mildy attractive.

I prefer to think that Shepard smiles for the emotion of see her true appearance, more than because he's thinking "Damn! She's hot! I did the jackpot!". But yes, there are no reasons to think she isn't both alien looking and attractive under the helmet.

I don't care what she looks like. Tali is TaliSomeKindaEnigma wrote...
Tali/Quarians looking like space elves? I'm all for Bioware showing Tali's face but if it ends up like that, I'm throwing my copies of the ME games out the window.

It's comments like that that make me wonder if BW will show Tali's face. They could but it will more than likely upset some fans because it won't be what they're expecting. I don't mind if BW doesn't reveal Tali's face in ME3 but I think they had a good opportunity in ME2.

The "feathers" idea has some appeal -- if you've ever seen the really soft, fuzzy feathers, not flight feathers, that's what I'm thinking of. Long, narrow down feathers.

Yes, that was what I had in mind. Or something like the proto-feathers that it's supposed many dinosaurs had, that looked an half way between birds' ones and mammals' fur. Not flight feathers, off course.

I don't think the "expectations of her face" thing is that much of an issue here, it's mainly that the idea of space elves is plain stupid; c'mon, the asari are bad enough! D: (Fortunately, ME2 gave them some fidelity, but the general concept still screams "Space elves!")Tranzmetal wrote...

I hope BioWare won't make them space elves, for their credibility, and that of the quarian race, will go down significantly. But I'd still like Tali as a character.
As for Tali's appearance, I'd prefer not to dwell on it. I've made some minor theses on her potential biology (check my sig); but aside from that, nothing I've really induced in my "personal canon".
Though should I choose, these are my preferences:
-Regular, though flawless thanks to lack of exposure to contaminants, skin
-Skin tones varying from pure white to dark grey
-Extremely narrow features (they'd have to be, in order to fit in their helmets)
-Eyes that actually glow, like the geth, no tapetum lucidum
-Something that explains the wire thin arms for both males and females (Exposed muscles?)
-Either hair (of any colour, really), or something resembling it, but moving for some reason. (Giant flagella?)
-Hairless on the rest of their body.
-The ears feature either extremely elaborate pinnae, or something internal.
-Dat cute lil' nose must remain. (Though that's pretty much a given, they can't exactly retcon those)
-No nails, save for a retractable one in the females' third little toe on their feet
-Dual, prehensile tongues. (Forked way back, so it's actually just one)
-Probably some stuff I forgot [edit: Like their teeth, which can be like humans, or more predatory, or less so; I don't really care.)
Yeah, I had some time to think about this with the folks at Clan Zorah.
But I'd be fine with anything original, really. Plain humans, or space elves, would be rather disappointing. Though I'm no opponent of features resembling humans. (Like the drell, preferably)

Why am I now so fascinated by the idea of Tali being a Spectre... I'm just quite curious as to how things would go. Assuming that she was up for the job, of course...
In other news, don't believe I posted this one from DA
I really love this one. It doesn't look "too human" and the face actually fits the rest of the body. I could actually see this face with those hands if you know what I mean.

Not my concept. I wish I could draw that well. I just found it on DA.Tranzmetal wrote...
It would be awesome if BW decided to use Runescapeguy9's concept, but they ultimately make final call. Guess we just have to trust BW. Lol I'm making it sound like it's a bad thing (which is not)!
This is one of mine.

I think instead, that curing the immunodeficency of the entire quarian race in only one generation, even with the help of Mordin, is far from happen.

Well seeing Tali and Legion working together is a good way to show signs of a truce between Geth and Quarians. When the Reapers come in ME3 I think an uneasy alliance maybe formed.
That would definitely be an interesting concept to explore in the game.

But:
"-Skin tones varying from pure white to dark grey"
I agree but I would prefer some slight hues to it, like extremely light sky blue or something.
"-Eyes that actually glow, like the geth, no tapetum lucidum"
Yes, but no friggin bright flashlights for eyes.
"-Something that explains the wire thin arms for both males and females (Exposed muscles?)"
I have no Idea how they would explain that. Not sure if want on the exposed muscles though.
"-Either hair (of any colour, really), or something resembling it, but moving for some reason. (Giant flagella?)"
Yessssss!
"-Dual, prehensile tongues. (Forked way back, so it's actually just one)"
I hate what my imagination brings up as an image for this. I agree with this, but to a point. I don't want a 'Wendy Pleakley' kind of mouth ordeal here. *Shudder*
Everything else fits perfectly in my eyes.
