Don't like the hair.
Not that it's bad but it's so "not-Tali" hair.

The funny thing to me is, that when Toshikii went with the hoodless version, that only made her look more like Kasumi to me because I always pictured Kasumi with that short, black spiky hair. But most people seemed to prefer it that way.

I’m sorry, but this just looks silly to me. I always imagined quarians to be much more similar to turians than humans, and this just solidifies the stereotype of Tali being an ‘anime fantasy’. The artist is very talented, but the fact that this is supposed to be a quarian ruins the effect of the illustration. I get that quarians have certain human-like traits, like the overall body shape and eyes/nose, but I will be very disappointed if quarians are revealed to look as human-like as this illustration. The artist was clearly more motivated by making Tali look attractive than by making a plausible speculative species model. Is she part reptile? What’s the deal with the strange lesion-like patches of reptilian skin? Form follows function, and there is no clear function for any of the decorative facial patches. The hair and eyebrows also are included to make the appearance more attractive/relatable, and I think that’s a copout. What’s the point of Tali being an alien, if she just looks like a human wearing KISS-like makeup?

It would make a lot more sense for the quarians to look more like a cross between turians and asari. Turians and quarians are clearly ‘related’ species, as are humans and asari. The quarians look to be something of a halfway point between turians and asari. I imagine quarians, while not having the bony frill of turians, might have a mandibular structure similar to turians, and I don’t think they should have hair of any kind. I think the quarian eyes should be more similar to turian eyes, rather than look so similar to humans/asari.

I think that Tron-ish suit for Tali is going to be pretty distracting for some people. :P

I do like that Tali actually has a sensible outfit in the game in general. Samara's and Miranda's are quite ridiculous. I give Jack somewhat of a pass as her outfit actually fits her.

I'm looking forward to the AA pack for Tali. Who knows when we'll be getting one though.

I'd like a different suit without the hexagon pattern, because almost everyone's doing that. Unless it's part of the kinetic barrier system or something like that. Then I might settle for some more protective (but not entirely covering) plates here and there.

I'd love some armor for her outfit. Combat equipment, that sort of stuff. If the first AA pack is any indication, we may just be getting something to that effect. Garrus had his armor repaired, Jack had something more practical and protective, and Thane got a bit of protection as well, on his chest (as Samara should).

A visible shield generator device may be nice as well for Tali. As I understand there are already squad mates who have something like that. Would fit Tali nicely considering her prowess with shielding technology to begin with.

I agree that Tali should have a bit more armor in an AA pack. maybe something that looks a bit MacGyvered together because I think that fits a quarian.

Some kind of light battle armor made by components rescued here and there? Very quarian-stily... might be a good idea for ME3 too supposing that against the reapers Cerberus pajamas, evirosuits, and damaged mercenary armors won't be enough protective...

She could even have it made of scavenged geth armor scraps. Sort of like a reverse Legion.

Would be extra fun when we take back Rannoch from the geth by force, if it comes to that.

We know from the Ascension novel that Quarians have lips and teeth and noses very much like humans....the nose and smooth skin can be seen through the mask so at least as far as the face goes they ARE pretty much just like humans.....same way the asari are. So I'm guessing that your only complaint here is that she has hair? While I can see how having her with hair makes her a bit too human it really wouldn't make sense for them to have head tentacles like the asari and turians because that would change the shape of their head and we can tell from the shape at lest that their skull is in its entirety human-like.....nothing remotely similar to asari or turians. Now the skin color can be something completely different like purple or green and whether they have hair or not is uncertain but that drawing is pretty much spot on regarding the way the quarians actually look.

Having a secondary outfit unlockable only in certain circumstances would be a nice idea in general. In case of Tali she might got a "Geth Exterminator" outfit made of geth's parts only in chase we won't be able to resolve the quarian/geth conflict in a peacful way.

My favorite (newer, nonclassic (?)) fanart that has details about Tali's face would have to be this one.

True, I admit my Tali looks a bit too close to Kasumi, probably because her facial features are closer to asians than caucasics. Maybe someday I will try to do a newer version with more caucasic face and maybe some other changes.

And yes, I understand everyone's point (more or less), but then, that's my personal interpretation of Tali, and that means I could even draw her with a huge moustache XD, because Im not trying it to impose it to anyone. In the end, that's one of the things I find great about Tali: Everyone has its own different interpretation of her, even if its the same character. It reminds me a bit to literature characters, those type of characters that you need to put a little bit of yourself and then it becomes real.

For the skin color, most people draws her with bluish or purple skin, but since the Asari already have that color patron, I went for a more greyish-pale look. ¿Why?  I could tell a couple of good reasons I can think about, but in the end, I just did it like that because I liked it ;).

Anyway, I like constructive criticism and of course, I respect any opinion =).

PD: I know my english is poor ;P.

I had an interesting thought. If Tali's face is not unveiled in ME3, Bioware may use this to their advantage. They could potentially create a DLC about Tali and during it have her face exposed. This would be a great marketing strategy but would anger many fans.

I had another idea, maybe if Tali is a romanceable character, when the game nears the end she for some reason suffers a fatal wound and if she was your LI then during her last moment she says something like "I want one last kiss" and we see her face before she dies. I know it's cliched, but it would be an interesting concept nonetheless.

I think the soap opera would anger more people than having her face revealed. People who play Mass Effect aren't your average soap opera trailers. A few people might blow out in outrage biut that always happens no matter what they do......if BioWare declares that they observed the sky is blue a few will blow in outrage......but there won't be any dramatically negative reaction from the fanbase or any remotely signifficant portion of it. I seriously doubt  the number of upset fans will be over 100......out of all the millions who bought the game. We can see through her mask enough to not be shocked or dramatically surprised if and when the mask is removed. Smooth skin, normal nose, normal-shaped eyes(possibly glowing).....then the book adds a bit more.....normal mouth and probably in all likelyhood a normal chin. So what is there not known to upset anyone? Skin color? Hair or lack of? Alien ears? I just don't see anything that would create a drastic negative reaction. If you're in the "she should look all crazy alien with tentacles sticking out of her tongue and she should certainly not look mostly human" club then you should start outraging already because we know for a fact her facial features ARE indeed mostly human. And besides there was no great outrage to the asari so I think they'll be allright.
