I had an interesting thought. If Tali's face is not unveiled in ME3, Bioware may use this to their advantage. They could potentially create a DLC about Tali and during it have her face exposed. This would be a great marketing strategy but would anger many fans.

I had another idea, maybe if Tali is a romanceable character, when the game nears the end she for some reason suffers a fatal wound and if she was your LI then during her last moment she says something like "I want one last kiss" and we see her face before she dies. I know it's cliched, but it would be an interesting concept nonetheless.

I think the soap opera would anger more people than having her face revealed. People who play Mass Effect aren't your average soap opera trailers. A few people might blow out in outrage biut that always happens no matter what they do......if BioWare declares that they observed the sky is blue a few will blow in outrage......but there won't be any dramatically negative reaction from the fanbase or any remotely signifficant portion of it. I seriously doubt  the number of upset fans will be over 100......out of all the millions who bought the game. We can see through her mask enough to not be shocked or dramatically surprised if and when the mask is removed. Smooth skin, normal nose, normal-shaped eyes(possibly glowing).....then the book adds a bit more.....normal mouth and probably in all likelyhood a normal chin. So what is there not known to upset anyone? Skin color? Hair or lack of? Alien ears? I just don't see anything that would create a drastic negative reaction. If you're in the "she should look all crazy alien with tentacles sticking out of her tongue and she should certainly not look mostly human" club then you should start outraging already because we know for a fact her facial features ARE indeed mostly human. And besides there was no great outrage to the asari so I think they'll be allright.

Completely agree, besides we also know her face is not a shocking suprise because when shepard sees it, he acts unsuprised and still extremely attracted to her. :bandit::wub:  --->:wub:

Hoodless version. Now looks less like Kasumi :P.

Don't like the hair.
Not that it's bad but it's so "not-Tali" hair.

Nice picture, but what is it with everyone or most people thinking that Tali or the Quarians look....human? There is another Tali photo floating around with her helment off and she literally looks like a white girl!

Again, according to Ascension they're pretty recognizable as humanoid. They've even got the proper vocal apparatus to speak English.

True, I admit my Tali looks a bit too close to Kasumi, probably because her facial features are closer to asians than caucasics. Maybe someday I will try to do a newer version with more caucasic face and maybe some other changes.

And yes, I understand everyone's point (more or less), but then, that's my personal interpretation of Tali, and that means I could even draw her with a huge moustache XD, because Im not trying it to impose it to anyone. In the end, that's one of the things I find great about Tali: Everyone has its own different interpretation of her, even if its the same character. It reminds me a bit to literature characters, those type of characters that you need to put a little bit of yourself and then it becomes real.

For the skin color, most people draws her with bluish or purple skin, but since the Asari already have that color patron, I went for a more greyish-pale look. ¿Why?  I could tell a couple of good reasons I can think about, but in the end, I just did it like that because I liked it ;).

Anyway, I like constructive criticism and of course, I respect any opinion =).

PD: I know my english is poor ;P.

That's Tali in a nutshell for me. She's inoffensive, "spunky", submissive without being clingy, and she isn't at all abrasive or overly independent like Ashley, Jack, Miranda, or even to an extent Liara. Tali is the girl next door, with the added bonus that she doesn't suffer from Graphics Limitations Face Syndrome. Basically she has whatever perfect face you want her to have, like you say. Whereas with Ashley, Miranda, Jack and Liara, if you don't happen to love the face you see, too bad.

Personally I think quarians should have some kind of low-relief scalp ridges or somesuch, rather than hair, and perhaps along the chin. I keep thinking about Grunt's comments about humans and asari being soft, while turians and quarians "not so much". I don't think he was only talking about their exosuits, I don't think those are any more rigid than what humans and asari wear.

She could even have it made of scavenged geth armor scraps. Sort of like a reverse Legion.

Now that is a very cool idea!

I found a idea about Talis face on Deviant Art that I realy like:

I think this shows her spunky attitude well. It is also cute but still mature. Beautifull in a very alien way if you know what I mean. We already have a bunch of stereotyped human female looking LI for maleShep so some variation would be nice. I think quarians would look better without hair however.

But I actualy hope we will never see any official quarian looks as I strongly suspect they would make her basicaly another Liara. Nothing wrong with our blue scholar and shadow broker friend but as I said variation is nice. You know how it usualy is in games: Females (especialy LI) are only allowed if they are pretty and the only way to be pretty is to look like a stereotyped human supermodel.

Edit: I won't go in a nerd rage over her looks though. There is much more to Tali than her hypotetical looks.

That particular look don't consider the few features that we know about quarian's appearence... where's the nose and the human-like lips for example? But in general, as I sayd before, the fact that she has a humanoin face doesn't mean that everything else can't be more alien. And besides that... even if she looks like a female turian I won't mind.

Add a nose to that and it'd work. I don't think we know for sure that quarians have human-like lips, only that they have lips.

The face in general is described as human-like in the novels, so I guess that a turian-like mounth is not likely to be there...

The proof that quarians have lips, is that Tali can kiss Shepard at the end of the romance, it would be very hard if they didn't have lips.

But what kind of lips, that's the question.

The thing that sounds a bit forced to me is compare turias and quarians 'cause they're the only two dextro-dna races know. I mean... salarians and krogans are both levo-dna but no one complains 'cause they're different... that's why I don't like much that turianish design...

I like it. It's only mildly similar to the turians at best.

Only teethes are stupid.
Quarians are definitely NOT carnivore.
They should have herbivore or omnivore teethes.

I agree.

I truthfully can't think of what she'd look like under the helmet, though. I think there would be so much rage if she didn't look human, plus a ton of rage if she did. I honestly think Bioware should leave it up to our imagination.

I always liked that for the part with garrus at the bottom though theres really no way thats what quarians look like. (Not saying it looks bad, its just that from what little you can see through the mask, that isn't it.)

I don't think Bioware should care about the people too attached to their preconception of what Tali will look like due to art interpretations.

Agreed.

Tali['s romance] asks you to look beyond physical appearance and pure sexuality, and love her for who she is. She does the same for Shepard, she doesn't just want sex; she wants to show Shepard how much she trusts him, and how much she cares about him.

Sure she's got a great body, one that could potentially give you incentive to start the romance in the first place. Same counts for the aspect of "mystery", some like that, and some admit to that being the thing that made them feel attracted to Tali at first. We won't judge you on that.
But if you don't want to see her face for your imagination's, or "mystery's" sake, especially after the way Tali elaborated on the difficulties and trust it took for her to show it to you?
That's just shallow to an extent of being offensive; honestly, anyone who goes there should be ashamed of themselves.

I'd see if my other favorites are in the game.

If not, then I'm probably not going to bother with the game.

Likewise, the Mass Effect series' plot isn't that good, the characters are what make it so damned great.
So if BioWare decides to ditch my favorites... Well, you get the point.

I don't think the game will go over well if they don't keep the crew, if it survived. The characters are too loved, most of them

I want to finish the saga, and even if she won't be in game I guess that Shep should have a flashback about her if he doesn't romance someone else, like happens in ME2. Then probably I'll let Shepard die heroically, I will unistall the whole trilogy and I won't buy another Bioware game for ages.

But I don't think this is likely to happen...
