I had an interesting thought. If Tali's face is not unveiled in ME3, Bioware may use this to their advantage. They could potentially create a DLC about Tali and during it have her face exposed. This would be a great marketing strategy but would anger many fans.
I had another idea, maybe if Tali is a romanceable character, when the game nears the end she for some reason suffers a fatal wound and if she was your LI then during her last moment she says something like "I want one last kiss" and we see her face before she dies. I know it's cliched, but it would be an interesting concept nonetheless.
I think the soap opera would anger more people than having her face revealed. People who play Mass Effect aren't your average soap opera trailers. A few people might blow out in outrage biut that always happens no matter what they do......if BioWare declares that they observed the sky is blue a few will blow in outrage......but there won't be any dramatically negative reaction from the fanbase or any remotely signifficant portion of it. I seriously doubt the number of upset fans will be over 100......out of all the millions who bought the game. We can see through her mask enough to not be shocked or dramatically surprised if and when the mask is removed. Smooth skin, normal nose, normal-shaped eyes(possibly glowing).....then the book adds a bit more.....normal mouth and probably in all likelyhood a normal chin. So what is there not known to upset anyone? Skin color? Hair or lack of? Alien ears? I just don't see anything that would create a drastic negative reaction. If you're in the "she should look all crazy alien with tentacles sticking out of her tongue and she should certainly not look mostly human" club then you should start outraging already because we know for a fact her facial features ARE indeed mostly human. And besides there was no great outrage to the asari so I think they'll be allright.
Completely agree, besides we also know her face is not a shocking suprise because when shepard sees it, he acts unsuprised and still extremely attracted to her.
