Honestly, why not both?

I'm sorry, I only do the Tough Decisions with no persuasion checks. Both is not an option! Choose! Choose or the space hamster dies!

Or not. That's fine.

Personally wouldn't care if it was either, but think the mystique of the quarian face is overshadowing other aspects of their development.

It may be quite difficult to kill the space hamster. There is a lot of Minsc to search... Posted Image
However, about Tali, Grunt says that quarians aren't very squishy. And there are rumours that quarians have become synthetics. So I always envisioned them as cyborgs sort of aliens. Probably a metallic (skin?.) As for seeing Tali's face in ME3, it is the last in the trilogy, and it is a mystery, even for those who didn't romance her.

I think it would be cool if they all enter an environment where she is able to take her helmet off (this could be a loyalty mission sort of thing) and they all find a planet where quarians can settle. This would be amazing. As for the question above, I think seeing Tali's face would be better than seeing any quarians face. Tali is a character that has been built upon since ME1, so it would cheapen the whole mystery of what her face looks like if it was another quarian.

And I am a girl who romanced Garrus, I just love Tali and want to see her face in ME3! Posted Image

quarian's becoming synthetics?
doesn't tali just talk about having implants?

i have never seen any evidence of them being synthetic.
it would also be sadly hypocratic in my opinion, the quarians hating the geth as much as they do.

Well if we are gonna go by the book, then I got a mental image of them looking sorta like the Na'vi from Avatar. But with that being said, if you look at Tali's nose in either a conversation or get close enough to her to see her visor. Her nose looks very human like, and sticks out very human like, rather than very flat like how the Na'vi's are in Avatar.

No no, it's just a rumour. I discovered it on a recent playthrough of ME2. It was on the codex page of quarians and stated that there were some rumours among the more lower classes that quarians were in fact synthetics. It is right at the bottom if I remember correctly. I will check if this was ME1 codex or ME2.

I know the codex states it is just a rumour, but personally, I think it would be really cool if quarians (seeming though they are dependant on their exo-suit) were a cyborg type race. They still have real feelings and emotions, but some parts of them are operated synthetically and they have a metallic sort of skin (nothing like geth, but I hope you get what I am getting at?)

Interesting concept Tahas, it have potential for a good story. My Shep likes Tali even if she is a borg of course, he is not that bothered by such small details.

Also, here is a very short Tali fanfic I just made:

Shepard: There are a handfull of people over there screaming that they hate Tali and her fans...

Tali: Sorry Shepard, I can't hear that nonsense over the noice of my hundreds of fans cheering for me.

Ah, quarians are cyborgs in that they have cybernetics. Codex, squad abilities screen, both confirm this. To what degree is up in the air, though the passive skill upgrade describes them as "modest cybernetics."

Grunt says that quarians aren't very squishy.

Well he states that they aren't "so much" squishy as Salarians, Humans and Asari.  He also places them in a category between squishy races like Salarian/Humans/Asari and the Turians, who are covered in armor.

This comment, which Grunt makes in passing, is so devoid of information about the quarians, that I'm not sure how it can even be used as evidence for anything.  Grunt could have meant one of hundreds if not thousands of different things, and there is zero context to guess what he meant exactly.  That doesn't stop people from trying to claim that quote as evidence of things, though.  :police:

As far as your theory:  interesting one.  I think it would be quite cool, actually.  A lot better than the space elves and lizard people others have been postulating.

There is a major differenance between being cyborg and being a full on sythetic. Cyborgs can either have add in sythethic parts which do not replace any normal function, or they have replaced normaly biologic systems with sythetic parts IE Borg. A full sythetic would be geth or the bots from Terminator. From what I did read Tali and the qurians are more like the type 1 Cyborgs where they have add on systems that don't replace anything, but this doesn't mean that they might now have some sort of sub derminal interface system to connect her and her suit. Having both a endo and exo skeleton working together can create something very tough to take down.

It fits in with the quarians' role in the galaxy as engineers, genius' in hacking, repairing and anything technological. I prefer the concept to Tali practically looking like a human anyway, I really want the quarians to be something very different from other alien races.
As shadowomega said, Tali would be sentient and living, and nothing would be replaced by cybernetics. But she would be enhanced by them, similar to Shepard in a way, but to a greater extent in my imagination.
As to quarians being 'not so squishy.' What I meant is that quarians are placed in a higher category than humans, for example, so their 'skin' must have been made out of something of a different caliber.
Love your fanfic lovgreno! Hehe.
And hey, I like this thread!

Similar to the Turians and their metallic skin, to shield them from the minor radiation on their homeworld.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Like robotic metal exo-skeletons but not as tough as Krogans. Although turian biology baffles me. It is called an exo-skeleton, but in the codex, it says that it is many thick layers of skin. I guess there can be both.

Seeming though there are people who exist in the ME universe who have lived long enough to know what the quarians look like out of their suits (e.g Matriarch Aethyta) there is still the mystery about what quarians look (or looked) like beneath their suits... You would have thought some asari matriarch would have revealed all?

I would assume that people in the ME universe maybe aren't as curious as us gamers? Or y'know maybe it would be easier for them to figure it out?

But Kelly does say that she wonders what they look like...

Kelly is kind of a nitwit if she never thought to look it up on the extranet or in Fornax or something.

I've always counted to see on Tali some kind of implants if/when we'll see her without the suit, but nothing extremely invasive. They're not Borgs, and also an excessive presence of exposed implants migt be dangerous for a quarian's health. Also please... PLEASE no Na'vi looking! If it's so I'll become one of those guys who prefer to keep Tali with the helmet on (now I'm neutral about that).

I'd love to see Tali's face. BUT SHE BETTER NOT BE A SPACE ELF OR I WILL SERIOUSLY GO BALLISTIC. But I don't think quarians have implants.

Without the wise guy remark using "flatout" like you expect 100% of everyone to have every last detail on the subject (which I don't), where did you learn this? I'd like to know.

See above:  it's in the text of the final passive skill evolution for her in ME2.
