I just wondered what EXACTLY would happen.
Well, probably killing the only quarian who served under your command, plus having a Geth in the team will cut off any possibility to stronly influence the quarians and obtaining their help.

Well, Tali has given the board the data about the geth and Haestrom, so I don't think they will be hostile to Shepard, but as alienmorph says, they probably wouldn't lend their help.
Possibly the same if Tali got exiled.
And welcome to the new guy on the previous page! (Sorry forgot what your username was.) And good LI choice!

Doesn't Xen send a message too after Tali's loyalty mission? It is a completely nutcase message and makes me think that when she was stabbing her childhood toys, it explained a lot about her (as Tali said.) Hehe, I loved that line.

I guess that in case of exile at least Shala'Raan could listen to Shepard, lefting open a little window for diplomacy. Or that the effort to redeem Tali from the treason's accuses will impress even more the admiralty.

I actually don't want Tali to be on the Admiralty Board because I want her to be with me - I mean, Shepard - forever!
I'd rather have Kal'Reegar take it (he's awesome!)
I made a poll on this a while ago and most Tali fans seemed to agree with you. Personally, I'd like Tali to be an admiral, but I appear to be in the minority. Of course that would mean she'd outrank Shepard...
I'd like to point out that in the real world it would be quite unthinkable for anyone as young as Tali to become Admiral. It's true that we don't know everything about Quarian society, but realistically no one that young is fit to be Admiral. There's a reason why every military force today have a promotion ladder where you start as a junior commander and work yourself up through the ranks, as the job and the responsibilities becomes more and more complex higher up. Like with most careers, it takes lots of schools and training, not just the right connections, to reach the highest ranks. I doubt few if anyone just past 20 is fit to be an Admiral.

I think that she may seem young for now, but from what I have seen, she has more sense than most of the current Admiralty Board. That said, sure it is not reallistic, but it is what most want. I thought it over and she really would make a better admiral based on what I know.

Given what that one dev said recently on the matter of Sheps who let everyon die having a tough time in ME3, I'd suspect that Tali alive is going to get far more out of the Migrant Fleet than Tali dead.Alienmorph wrote...

You mean the generic "Yes." that guy gave as answer on Twitter about the question "I'll be in trouble if I saved only Zaeed and Kasumi during the SM?"
And also, off course, Tali alive is the only valuable option, even if the Migrant Fleet won't do nothing >_<

As it appears that ME3 will be a 'gather the races' style game to kick the reapers in the daddybags, then yeah, I think Tali will be key to getting quarian support.
Although, I wonder of she gets alternative support depending on the conclusion of the trial. So Tali ay bring quarian support if not exiled, and perhaps support from x if she was exiled.
Although, I wonder who x could be, she doesn't really know many except for quarians and the Normandy crew.

Unless my understanding of the codex is mistaken, I do not believe that quarians have actual "ears". I'm pretty sure I saw that hinted at somewhere. I think it was somewhere in the ME1 codex. Anyhow, regardless of what she looks like, she is still Tali. Bioware did a damn fine job getting people to care about her. So yeah... She could have the face of El Gigante a'la RE4, and she would still be Tali to me anyways.
I do wish to see her smile and laugh though

I agree. Tali will be Tali no matter what she looks like, and if you are shallow enough to really care about looks, then that is you. I will continue my Talimancing no matter what she looks like. Tali is the best person I have ever met, fictional or otherwise. So I say, let Tali be Tali.
