Well, since it's the anniversary, I thought I do a little something, just a simply sketch. My meagre skills aren't worth much though. Anyway, I originally did this little one for Volrath937(hence the name). Opinions are welcome:That's a nice mental image, I'd love to have a go at drawing that actually...Savakka1 said...
Yes, the real European football, soccer.
That's why it seems so beautiful to me.
It's a game in which Tali could be good at.
GOD DAMN, Troodon, I didn't know you had mad art skills.

Yep, that's nice Troodon!
And another one... Again, only a sketch, very basic. Nothing like what Alien, Alphyn, MadMapper, or disjunctionreaper can do. I'm ******-poor when it comes to photoshop... Pencil and paper for me.

I don't. Or... at least I didn't so. You've seen some of my previous stuff. Nothing fancy.RiptideX1090 said...

I will work on using my Gimp and "Tali" up a number of posts in all the past threads to edit a few counter pics I found for the Tali threads. My art skills could use work but since it is a great and special occasion for all of us, it is time for me to drop everything and work out one of my best sketches ever in honor of Tali. This will probably take a few hours to a full day for me because I am going to try to make it as perfect as possible I will have it posted even if it is unfinished, by the withing the next seven hours.

For one, she's a poor leader, I find her lack of control over Prazza to be a great indicator of this. She basically stood by and told him to wait in the shuttle. You can't be that soft with your men. When you lead soldiers you have to make it clear beyond a doubt that you will not take any insubordination.
Second, I found her a bit over emotional. I can understand her trepidation about working with Cerberus but I can't understand her rather rude behavior to Jacob. He might be Cerberus but he had nothing to do with the attack on the migrant fleet.

I think she was quite firm with Prazza. She did say, "No Prazze, you're taking orders from me." When he sneers that they are with Cerberus now. It was there own fault that they were too hotheaded to listen to her warning.michaelrsa wrote...

You are a bit right about the second point though. I would say that her most obvious flaw is her naivety in ME1, but that is largely because of her lack of knowledge on the rest of the galaxy after being confined to the flotilla before going on her pilgramage. But she gets rid of that in ME2 and takes a level in badassery

I look at it as more a thing that you have to look at it from her point of view. She believes that all of Cerberus is an evil anti-alien organization that wants nothing more than to destroy and make the other races into lower class citizens or worse. As for Prazza, he was the marine commander from what I understand. She may have had tactical command but, he was a stubborn jarhead as the term is. She was more of a civilian anyway, not sure how much command she really had. She said that they had an agreement, but she never forced her authority or command. Makes me think she may have not had command but more of was given the lead at an agreement that she may be better suited though. I can't really remember ME2 very well at the moment though because I have been trying to get all the achievements for the first and to enjoy the full experience with Tali without a large pause. So my memory of Haestrom and Freedom's Progress are a bit blurry.

In any position of command, you are responsible for your men's actions. If they turn around and ignore your commands, it is your fault that you did not make it clear that you were the head honcho.
Here's one. How do you think Tali's upbringing as an admirals daughter affected her growing up?
I think it caused her to have to become as good as she was because otherwise her fellows would begin to believe she was just riding around on her father's laurels.

Agreed. Tal's upbringing definitely made her driven, if for no other reason than to prove she was her own person, and that everything she got, she earned.michaelrsa wrote...

I also wonder what advantages she received as the daughter of an admiral. It couldn't have been all bad, it would be very naive to doubt that there are advantages to being the daughter of one of the five most important people in the fleet.RiptideX1090 wrote...

This one ^^ gives a whole new meaning to 'mind melding.' Not just asari do it!

Enkindle this!

Shouting is fun!

This is why paragon interrupts are great.

And of course, Tali doesn't get exiled, happy ending!
However, Garrus is so bored at the trial that his arms are sinking into his knees...

I wouldn't say that there is no advantages, but I doubt there would be many advantages since most of the quarians are valued the same as the next, and all work to the betterment of the fleet. She might have had some, but none that she openly mentions, possibly something that was "in the background," something that she, herself, wasn't aware of. Of course as Tali says, because she is the daughter of an Admiral it's like having to try and live up to a reputation, and possibly more is demanded or expected of her. It's certainly not going to be easy.michaelrsa said...

Also, if what Shepard says is true about her having the best military training the fleet could offer, it would obviously be pretty rigorous too. All in all, I'd imagine that that demands, or expectations, would outweigh the advantages. Though, to my recollection, she hasn't made mention of advantages, so it's up for speculation. I honestly couldn't say, other than I'd imagine it being pretty tough.

Even though it's not Tali anniversary related with a celebration or stuff, I figured I had to do something for the 1 year anniversary.
So I (finally) finished Rune's request.
Just a calm picture of Tali lounging in a chair, reading one of Shepard's old history books from Earth
Sorry for the poor attempt at the circular window on the left; it was supposed to be where you could see the stars and the light shining on Tali. I got a little carried away with the shading
Enjoy!
