And I know this is OT but isn't it weird that Xen is an admiral but nobody seems to know jack crap about her? How does such a person ever become an admiral in the first place?

Maybe she knew when to watch and when to act.

I have a theory that TIM or Cerberus probably has something to do with Xen's rise to power. The e-mails TIM sent to the Migrant Fleet make me think he has some kind of contact on there now.

And I think Admirals have to do something incredible for the fleet to be considered for a position. Like, for instance, Tali helping to defeat Saren and his geth.

If they are, that'd give renegade Shepard some very interesting choices.

Didn't Tali say that defeating Saren really wouldn't matter to the Flotilla?

Well, they seem darn impressed with Tali defeating Saren and the geth in ME2.

The quarians believe in the Reapers, at least. Unfortunately, Ascension shows they might not be drawing the right conclusions.

She meant that it wouldn't matter for her people because they would still be outcasts and exiles to the rest of the galaxy.

I really need to replay ME1...

It was something like, "Is it okay for you to divert from your Pilgrimage like this Tali?", "My people don't really care about things that don't affect them, but I'm doing this for the greater cause!"

I haven't read that book since before ME2, what do they believe?

a.  They do exist.
b.  We should try to find some of their artifacts to use against the geth!

Alright, once I finish the Blood Ravens omnibus I'm re-reading that.
I assume it was Tali that convinced the quarians?

Sort of.  They're less apt to believe the official Council line RE:  "it was just the geth all along!" as well.

But yeah, since their favored daughter was involved, they're not going to diminish the role she played or the threat she faced for political convenience.

Guys, what does Tali call her little combat drone thingy? Every time she deploys it she shouts some name I can't understand.

Thanks! How do you guys know that?? There's no subtitles for it, how do you know how it's spelled? Color me impressed.

It goes for the optics like she commands, hence why they get stunned and become engrossed with killing it. Even the great Reaper Harbinger, realizes the threat when it takes over someone's body. Send a legion of combat drones at the Reaper fleet, key to victory.

I believe I did a little blurb about that subject a long time ago....

and I found it.

Setting: space battle between the allied fleet and the reapers.

Harbinger: Focus on Shepard!

Tali: Go get em, Chikktikas!

Harbinger: What is that? I don't even...

Chikktika Wing: *beep* *boop* *ZAP*

Harbinger: OH NO! It's THEM again! Help! Get them off me!

Harbinger: It hurts! Ahhhh! RETREAT!

*warps back to dark space whimpering*

Harbinger: That was scarier than that one Earth transmission we intercepted with the flying monkeys...

It's a Baldurs Gate reference (I think, never played the games)

Yep, it's a reference to Chiktikka Fastpaws who is an animal companion (raccoon) of the gnomish god Baervan Wildwanderer who a character called Aerie worships.  When you direct Aerie to do something she will often say "Faster than Chiktikka Fastpaws!"

And going for the optics is of course a reference to Minsc and Boo.

The space hamster is also a reference.

Pretty funny that the insanely popular character has a catchphrase of another insanely popular character (even I know who Minsc is).

Bioware, you cards.

To start another topic, did you find it interesting how Tali is the only character to not back down to Shepard in argument? Her character is much harder for the player to change than anyone else. She has a set of morals and beliefs and she defends them very strongly.

This is my favorite thing about Tali. If you betray her trust she will never forgive you for it. There is no magical blue or red text to fix everything and she will hate you forever.

Well, she sorta kinda backs down after a fashion in her confrontation with Legion.  It's not a 180 or anything, but she is definitely willing to listen to Shep when he is speaking sense.  I mean going from pointing a gun at Legion to letting him have some data is a pretty significant change inside of 30 seconds.  I do agree that Tali is way less malleable than the other characters though.  She is probably the least malleable except maybe Jacob.  You can't budge that guy either.  Heck, you can even budge Zaeed and Wrex.
