I wonder what Tali's reaction would be if Shepard ever did that during her trial... "Oh Keelah! He's lost his mind! Shepard! SHEPAAAARD!"
*ahem*
Sorry about that... The MGS avvy got to me.

I am indeed a HUGE Zelda fan. I had a conversation with a friend of mine where he listed all of the series' faults. I admitted that there were faults and that many of the games are "basically the same thing with a new coat of paint." He then went back and asked me again why I liked it. I could only smile and shrug.
The Zelda series (specifically Ocarina of Time) is the one reason I became a gamer. I saw it in action at two different friends' homes before getting my own hands on a copy in 2000, and oh dear lord the memories.
*waxes goddamn nostalgic*
The magic of first seeing Kokiri Forest, and finding my sword and shield. Falling onto and through that one spider web in the Great Deku Tree to reach the basement area. Fighting Queen Gohma. Running through Hyrule Field and trying to beat the sunset so that I don't get locked out of Castle Town by the drawbridge and left to the Stalchilds. The Forest Temple, jumping the gate to escape Lon Lon Ranch, the frustrating-as-hell Water Temple and fighting Dark Link in it.
And scaling Ganon's Tower. That organ music will always be found somewhere in my subconscious, always.
Mass Effect and/or Mass Effect 2 have it beat in characters and sheer storyline, no doubt about it. But honestly? In comparison, it's just another game to me. One of the best ever, but still just another game.
*realizes this post has absolutely nothing to do with the point of the thread*
Oh, uh...Tali rules?

My apologies if this has already been covered, but I was curious: Does anyone know how tall Tali is? I don't remember seeing it mentioned anywhere.
Well, Tali is shorter than Shepard. And, we do not know anyone's height in ME at all.

lol, no...it's my favourite mission in the entire game. I always used to get chills when Shepard made the Renegade speech at the end of the mission. But ever since I've watched that video, I now always picture Shepard singing that.
lol okay I understand now
It was also my favorite mission. I felt like it had the most depth.

I've said it once, twice, and almost a year and half strong now, but I adore Tali. It fills me with such joy to have a woman in a game loved, admired, respected, and cared for not because of how she looks (though the HIPS and accent combo is potent indeed) but almost solely based upon the powerful impact she as a character leaves upon the player.
I've stated it before, but I was baffled to discover a girl like Tali, one so strong of will, so utterly selfless and considerate and kind, one willing to risk everything for someone she loved, even if it meant her ultimate death. Even her romance path is one that poses a risk, not to the hero, but to her, but she states often that she chooses that risk because she cares and loves you enough to accept nothing less.
Even in the context of reality, that's a powerful sentiment to encounter. How many people would risk death for love, suffer in silence for a greater good or if they loved another? The fact that Tali harbored feelings throughout two games and several years, yet never acted upon them because she feared Shepard could never see her for who she was behind her mask, the girl she was on the inside. She respected, admired, and cared for the man that saved her and helped build her into the strong woman she became. She's not a total love-struck nutcase, as demonstrated by her desire to put emotions aside for the mission, to confront and challenge your decisions, and possibly to even end up disappointed in you, but still caring enough to follow you straight into the den of hell itself on what she is told is a veritable suicide mission. When even Ashley/Kaiden lack the courage to stand by Shepard, Tali's unconditional trust in Shepard is refreshing and, after the despondency of the encounter on Horizon, much needed.
Everything about her, from her accent to her mission to her personality to her impeccably designed body language, shows Bioware at their prime and absolute best. I still think Tali is the best character they've ever made, more than any of the memorable and beloved characters from KOTOR, Jade Empire, or Dragon Age, and a huge portion of games in general. She's everything one could hope to find in a woman; strong-willed and brave, bold and smart, resourceful and playful, talented and charismatic, kind, selfless, and loving.
She's an amazing character, and I continue to hope she gets just as much love and attention in ME3 as she did in ME2.

tali fans might be mad at me but i ended my relationship with her and went back with ashley i feel bad though because i kinda took her virginity and left lol
my thing is i wonder what ashley will think in me3
No one's gonna blame no one... being fan of Tali is not equal to romance her at all costs... but surely would have been better if you simply did a playtrought where you Shep' remained loyal to Ash since the beginning...
BtW me too I'm curious to see in what way will react Ash finding out of Shepard and Tali (with the difference that my Shep won't dump her). I guess that in the end Williams will be smart enough to accept peacefully the situation, but she might have and initial reaction not very kindle... I guess that Ash respects Tali but surely she didn't get rid at 100% of the prejudices against quarians (she still has prejudices against most of the aliens...) and I don't think that she did ever considered Tali a potential rival... she looked almost shocked even to compete with Liara...

Quarians are said to be smaller than humans generally. But in-game, she's taller/as tall as female Shepard, but shorter than male Shepard.kglaser wrote...

I'm quite sure that neither Grunt is tall as Shepard xD
when grunt comes out of the tank in the cutscene, he is like twice the height of shepard lol.
then in game, he and shepard are same height.
it's like, lol?
but yeah, codex says quarians are a lil smaller than humans both height and build wise.

If someone reports Ash's reaction to being dumped for Tali, I'll have to create a character just to see that! My Talimancer had no prior relations...not even the consort.

Well, first of all we'll have to see if she'll have for real any reaction. But honeslty I'll almost consider it a flaw in her characterization if Ash will move on about the Talimance with nonchalance.

Exactly, also Kaidan in general was always more open-minded. I don't think that there should be an harsh confrontation with Kaidan if FemShep 'manced Thane or Garrus in ME2, but surely I can't imagine Ash accepting without saying a word that Shepard moved one and have found someone else (especially considering that the ME2's LI are a quarian, two Cerberus affiliated and biotic criminal), unless their reconcilation will happen after some really bad circumnstances and Ash will decide to shut her mounth for a while in general.

Granted, I've never not saved Kaidan, so I don't fully know how she was like on Horizon.

As for Tali... I think that the confrontation between her and Ash could get nasty. But not as nasty as a confrontation between Ash and Miranda or Jack...
Then, you had best find a rock...

Hmm... good point. I guess that Miranda might say something really haughty, trying to shut up Ash with words... but Jack... geez.... run to the escape pods! Once again probably Tali will be in the middle of the scale... I imagine that initially she'd react in a bad way, but probably she'll be easier calmed because of her not-selfish nature and of the great trust she has in Shepard.

Back on topic, would Ashley really find it so difficult to accept that Shepard's moved on? From her point of view, Shepard's been gone for two years; I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out that she had found someone else in the meantime.
I honestly think the "conflict" between your ME1 and ME2 love interest will just come down to "you must pick one of us." Though, you'd have to be a real cad to dump Tali after she went through all that effort just to have one night with you.
