However, Tali! Does anyone think that the events in ME1 where geth are perceived as the 'main' enemy has perhaps clouded her views of the geth? For example, she now automatically sees them as hostile?

That and the fact that she has lived on a space-ship all her life thanks to the actions of her ancestors and the geth 300 years prior. I imagine a Tali who has romantic feelings towards Shepard would feel even more angry with the geth as they effectively placed the limitations on the quarians that affect their relationship.

Although, of course if you go down that route you could argue that were the geth never created/quarians never exiled then Tali would have almost certainly never met Shepard and so on and so on.

I don't think I've ever seen a female Salarian for that matter. Or an unarmored female Krogan.

You have seen unarmoured male Krogans?

How did I not see this before? Lol! Posted Image
And Ramirez, I think that is the case. And maybe this has made Tali more extreme against the geth. Although this theory is flawed. Garrus also was with Shepard in ME1, and he seems to easily accept that Legion is not hostile. He is too impressed by his sniping skills Posted Image.
But hatred seems like an out of place emotion for Tali, so I'm just trying to rationalise it so I understand better.

Hate does seem out of place for Tali.

I'd say the genocide of her people was enough to do that. In my mind the geth in ME1 would only have reinforced her views on geth as being hostile.

Go for the eyes Boo, go for the eyes RRARRGGH!!
Oh, and of course...
'I see you still have that rodent with you. How did the guards not catch it?'
Minsc: 'Boo is very smart. And there is a lot of Minsc to search.'
Imoen: 'Eeew, I don't want to think too much into that...' Posted Image
Ah, I could go on about Baldurs Gate all day, lament about Kivan only being in BG1 and tell you about why Viconia is the best combat choice and character EVER in BG! But that would be off topic.
I understand that the possibilities of Tali looking like a minature space hamster is slim, but does anyone else imagine Tali to have hair? Like what humans have? I remember there being a comment on ME about only humans having hair, so this made me think of whether or not Tali would...

Minsc was my favorite character.

"Don't ask questions better left to aged sages. Boo is small and agile and there is ever so much of Minsc to search!"

"Squeaky wheel gets the kick!"

I don't remember the "hairless" comment from ME1, but of course it's been awhile. I wouldn't mind if Tali was rocking the Sinead O'Connor look, but I'd prefer some hair. Perhaps if her face/features were modeled after the voice actress, Liz Sroka?

The fanbase seems pretty evenly split on that topic. Tali states at one point that large animals on Rannoch evolved to carry pollen around in the absence of insects (Or maybe that was in the codex). Hair would be a good way of doing that and some people use it as an argument for quarians having hair. I say there are other ways to do it and would prefer a hair analogue, if for no other purpose than to keep aliens as alien as feasible.

And welcome Flashheart!

Thanks for the warm reception, Tasha! I don't normally get emotional reading these forums but that "welcome Flashheart!" line has had me smiling like a cheshire cat for seven minutes now. Sorry if I messed up the quote. It's my first day and I'm still trying to work these forums out.Posted Image
Null, does your name have any connection to the Metal Gear Solid character?

And finally, just so this post has something to do with Tali:
Does anyone else think it would be swell if Bioware fixed it so that popular characters such as Tali and Garrus (can't have one without the other) survied the SM in ME3's default story? That way they could get the same attention as guaranteed returning characters such as Liara, and by making Tali and Garrus integral to the story from the ground up it would change the writers focus from "including a character if they lived in ME2" to "working around a characters death". Does that make sense to anyone? I know that at least two characters had to survive the SM in ME's cannon plot (one of which is almost certianly Miranda), but who's to say there couldn't be more? Maybe for once Shepard doesn't have to be a heartless bast*rd?Posted Image

Who is Vespaz?  They did good work.

My only contention is the eyes.  Tali's eyes appear to be glowy and one uniform color (lightish blue maybe?), but that is really nitpicking.  Overall, well done, and if she's anything like that in game (assuming we ever get to see her face) I would be happy.  Of course, I imagine they will make her look a bit more alien and less human but, perhaps time will tell?

Vespaz is the artist of that picture. The thing with the eyes is just a cool concept that could work. Besides, we don't even know if they are glowy

On the topic of glowing eyes. When Shepard removes her visor/mask in the love scene, there is no glow coming from within the helmet. No point source is noted in Shepard's eyes as well so they cannot be glowing on their own. They would require light from another source, the hud perhaps, to make them shine.

In all the ways that accepts Tali as a fictional character that shouldn't affect my working life, yes!

unless...

I live long enough for the possibility of witnessing 'our' intergalactic first contact and that first contact coincidentally resembles the Quarian race.... ah damn then all bets are off

A lot of people against it feel that way because "She is an alien and should look like an alien", but personally I'd like quarians to have hair; funnily enough it'd give them more diversity than the other races seeing as so far only humans have it.

My second favourite interpretation so far, although I'd prefer less human coloured skin. The first I would post but the artist gets all moody for some reason when people do. (You'd think the fact that people are appreciating, complimenting and sharing your work would be a good thing, especially when said work is on DeviantArt (Number 8 "Draw what you think Tali looks like") in an internet meme as opposed to commisioned/charged work, but oh well)

True, but it doesn't mean they cannot glow faintly, and the mask enhances it (due to it being glass) so it seems brighter. Not arguing against you here, just throwing out the possibility. =]

Personally I would like to see quarians have glowing/reflective eyes (either one).
