If such a thing happens, my Shepard will be so pissed off that his immense fury will fry every Reaper in the Universe. Pretty much meaning that there will be no invasion. Meaning - ME3 will end before it'll even begin :P

Every single squad mate will be included in the the game assuming they survived the Suicide Mission, this is pretty much a guarantee. There would be no point giving us the choice otherwise.

What isn't certain is whether or not they are in Mass Effect 3 as a squad mate, a cameo, or just an email or the equivalent.

So expect to see Tali in Mass Effect 3, just don't get too excited that she will be a fully fleshed character. (although I think she will, or else what is the point of a romance plot that starts right near the end of the game?)

Seems like an enormous waste to bring Tali back, make her loyalty mission, make the confrontation with Legion, and make her a romance option, just to throw the character away in ME3.

Tali can't be plot critical in ME3. She can die in the suicide mission. I imagine Liara and/or the VS will take the role of "plot critical." However, that doesn't mean Tali can't return and influence the story in some way.

I hope we get more conversations with her than we did in ME2.

IIRC it was said that romances and all the stuff connected with them (cheating/betraying/staying loyal) will be important in ME3. Depending on the definition of "important", everything can happen.

I see it this way:

1) Tali is a squadmate and continued LI- happy Wolfen is happy :)

2) Tali as a cameo - <_< and throws the game out the window

3) Tali just has an email - Wolfen puts  "DESTROY BIOWARE" on his lists of things to do
4) Tali as a squadmate but no romance - <_< and takes the game back to the store and shoves it up the clerk's ass

EDIT: So I guess Bioware is going with option 1.;)

The fourth hipotesis is quite sensless... why she should return without being romanceable?

The haters may complain to the point where Bioware decides to make the Tali romance a one night stand. They already got rid of the Tali romance in ME1.

Do you think Tali will look like the Turian Females? Since Garrus and Tali share the same amino-acid or whatever....I hope she doesnt look like Skeletor.

I simply don't believe that Bioware listens to the haters all that much. And that's not just the Tali haters of course, goes for pretty much every character out there. For example, I hate Jack and Miranda, but I don't want Bioware to listen to my opinions on them for the sole purpose of the fans who do like them. Then again, most anti-Tali people seem to believe that we have no souls and shouldn't be treated like human beings, but hey, that's their opinion.

Edit: Not in any way no. Quarian and Turian bodies are completely different. Because they're bodies are built using the same set of proteins doesn't mean they will look alike.

Honestly, Tali romance in ME1 would have been a tad silly since she wasn't even considered a full adult by then. Would have required of Bio to expand upon the Quarian lore as well, something I doubt they felt they had the time to.

The only one thing that worries me about having Tali & Garrus with me in the final fight will be if I have to pick one to sacrifice or something like that.

If that happens, ME3 is going out the nearest window.

That, my friend, is what "load previous savegame -> change squadmates to Miranda and Jack" tactical manouver is for ;)

Shepard: You, lady, should unmask.

Tali: Indeed?

Shepard: Indeed, it's time. We have all laid aside disguise but you.

Tali: I wear no mask.

Shepard: No mask? No mask!

I'm not sure they said "important." They did say that cheating would have consequences.

What's more telling about the fate of Tali is Christina Norman's comment that getting most of your team killed in ME2 would mean Shepard would have a tough time in ME3. That seems to suggest that the squad mate's survival has some value in ME3.

Tali is among the most important love interests storywise, if we consider her tie to the quarian/geth subplot.

Here's one.
Another:

I don't think it is a spoiler to say that fans who let their team die in me2 will feel the consequences in me3

Tali may indeed prove important, but not too important. After all Bioware needs to have a back-up plan in case she is dead.

I'd like to see Tali's loyalty to Shepard tested, or her loyalty to her people, rather.

She said in ME1 that quarians were expected to always be loyal, no matter how difficult the circumstances. She can't imagine fighting against her own people. I wonder if, somehow, the Migrant Fleet became an enemy of Shepard who would Tali side with?

Thoughts, opinions?

We'll have to deal with the quarian/geth conflict anyway, Tali alive might bring to use a bonus in terms of diplomatic power, but she shouldn't be the the only key to solve the situation. About "loyal to Shepard or loyal to the Fleet?" it's a thing that I'd really curious to see... I guess that if we bring Tali into a similar situation whathever choice she'll pick up will be really suffered, but forcing her to choose one side or another without compromises sounds more a renegade thing, than something that a paragon or a talimancing Shepard would do... so I suppose I won't find it out of my own.
