Spartan: Yes, I agree with you on that. While seeing the Collectors take the crew and getting to play as Joker was fun, seeing the whole thing from Shepard's POV would've been much more jarring. Exploring an empty ship, bodies everywhere, teammates freaking out, good stuff.

It'd be interesting to see something like that, I doubt we'll ever see that in ME3 but it's something to think about for a rainy day.

Dark energy is going to be the ace-in-the-hole for the organics, no question from me. Those people without Tali aren't going to have a way to integrate it though! Too bad, they lose.

They might not lose, they'll just be able to watch as the Reapers destroys nearly everything before they can stop them, while if Tali's alive, she helps you to minimize casualties.

Now that I can actually see happening in the game.

So summa ****** laude at Yale smart then? I also wonder how much of that prowess is a result of her education, however. I mean the girl has to have talent, obviously, but do you think it really would have turned to "prodigy" status if she wasn't Rael'Zorah's daughter?

They do make a point of saying that she got the best training available, so there's that.

I tend to think she's more got a knack with how things work than einsteinian math genius, though.

Definitely an awesome mix of both. She's got the knowledge and the experience.

Like Kaylee in Firefly. I love that kind of friendly, nerdy tech ladies.Posted Image

I think she's more Badass Normal than some sort of abstract genius, to bring tvtropes into it. She works with her hands, y'know? And not in a glamorous way. "One month ago fixing rusting barges" or whatever she says in ME1.

But Tali still doesn't have a doctorate.

Therefore, she will never be able to have an intelligent conversation with Mordin.

Well the fact that she's so highly esteemed, and called a genius would put some credence in the latter.

Well, she's probably capable of calculus, so she'd at least be safe.

"Mordin, I need some immuno-boosters. Thanks. Bye!"

Simple.

She might not have a PHD but she is capable of earning one easily. At least with in the field of engineering and Programming.

I'm not sure whether this means she's smart because she was privileged or because Rael was a strict father who made sure she did her homework every night. I tend to agree with the latter.

^ Ya me too. Rael doesn't seem to be the loving caring type.

Rael was more concerned about what he wanted for Tali and not what Tali wanted for herself. This doesn't necessarily make him a horrible monster of a father. But it doesn't make him the best one either.

Doctorate is a human term, Tali is quarian. Who's to say that her hood and body wrapping is not the equivalent of a full blown quadruple PHD?  I doubt they would created diploma's.

Rael definitely cared about Tali, but I don't think he ever stopped seeing her as a child. He looked out for her, but didn't take her opinion into account.

A good pilgrimage gift would probably be a medical degree or something.

The man sent her into geth territory, a place where no ship has ever returned, to collect data on stars.

Rael looked at Tali as a tool. He cared for her the same way a mechanic cares for his wrenches.

I wonder how hard it was for Tali to get those parts or what she had to do to get those parts for that matter.

I never got that impression

Also known as abuse to caring people.  Tali deserved better so she got Shepard.

No parent really Does BTG, but for Rael I think it was because he lost a little bit of himself when his wife died, she was likely his Moral Anchore, his root to something other then a Military lifestyle. He problem didn't know how to really treat his own daughter, with out feeling like he was playing favortism toward her, which really any parent will do to some degree. Then again he could have been trying to mask his feels of pain after lossing his wife and didn't want to feel the pain of the loss of his daughter so he may have pushed her away to avoid the pain, if he ever lost her. So he just delt with it the only way he knew how, treat everyone including her as if they where another soldier/sailor. Distanceing help with reducing the loss feeling.
