Some sort of radiation shielding in quarian suits is necessary, since the suits double as EVA gear.  Think ME1 where there were often environmental hazards on the Mako levels.  And again, fetal exposure in general seems to be due to inhaled contaminants.

Again, it's certainly possible to have quarian biotics.  But as Tali says, they're extremely rare.  We're just outlining possible reasons why that is.

Edit: Praise the Omnissiah!

I see I'm not the only one that thought Tali could use some drapery...

I don't see why they wouldn't purposely expose some of their people to it, they already control the number of children and get people killed on silly recon missions. Nevermind the pilgrimage. The Quarians are kind of squishy and biotic shielding could help in a few ways.

Whoa, whoa...  You mean like Cerberus-style "accidental exposure"?  Ah, most of that seems to result in miscarriage of the potential biotic.  I'm having a hard time imagining anyone volunteering.

Anyone notice that Tali's faceplate is reddish in ME1 and blue in ME2?

More like Blue in ME1 and Purple in ME2.
Anyway, on the topic of Red faceplates, I think I found my new favourite Tali suit:

I'm only a little evil and I'd volunteer. That's assuming the mother would be unharmed (well beyond whatever damage a miscarriage normally does). And I don't even have that insane loyalty to group thing that makes Quarians willingly kill themselves rather than be used as a tool to get close to the fleet. It's just another sacrifice.

Wow, that video brings me to tears. One of the best ME2 you tube videos out there.

That picture reminds me of the concept art for Tali in the ME2 artbook.

Thank you. And even though Tali does die in the video, I still think it's very well done.

The psychological effects can be pretty serious.  And unlike herioc suicide, it's something the victim is still around to have to deal with.

As much as it tears me apart to see Tali die, I thought it was a beautiful video and it made me appreciate my Shepard's relationship with Tali (who, I am proud to say, fought bravely and survived the Collector mission) even more.  God, if we aren't able to continue our relationship with Tali in ME3, BioWare better be ready for a world of hurt...though right now, she's got competition from my current obsession, Kasumi.

Meh, Kasumi, as a DLC character, wasn't fleshed out enough. Like Zaeed, you could click to talk to them, but couldn't actually HAVE a conversation with either person. Also, I'm still annoyed at her for making me feel bad for wanting the Alliance to not get a worse reputation from whatever was discovered by her dead lover.

An idea had occurred to me yesterday regarding Tali...OOH! I remember! As I'm relatively new to this thread, I'm not sure if this has ever been covered in detail, so apologies for rehashing something.

After the Tali LM, you receive that "email" from Daro'Xen about discovering some of what Rael had been up to when she scoured the Alarei for information. She mentions that, as I hadn't shared the information with her, I would be forced to sit on the sidelines as the Quarians "reaquired the largest synthetic army in the galaxy" or some such.

Does anyone ELSE see this going horribly wrong? Or may perhaps be the Renegade option for Geth "recruitment" in ME3?

Also, Tali has never died.  The only two that ever died on the SM for me were Thane and Legion.  Oh, and Zaeed.

Either Bioware is planning on leaving some gaping plot holes on the quarian issue, or Daro'Xen is going to be your biggest pain in the ass in ME3.  We can only speculate but there is no doubt in my mind that she is going to cause Shepard and crew some serious trouble.

It's a shame really about her message. I think she has the right idea about the whole Geth issue. Besides, it wouldn't surprise me if she while trying to experiment on some geth get a slug through her brain. Easy way to deal with several issues.

Tali will kick Daro'Xen's ass! Besides, people were speculating that Tali may become an Admiral to replace her father. And if the admiralty board aren't unanimous in their decision, then they are disbanded.
So, despite the threat, it will be very difficult for Xen to do much.

I doubt Tali will replace her father, but its intriguing how they would ret con what she said about the Admiralty not being decided by family status in ME1. The Admiralty doesn't need to have a unanimous vote at all. They only disband if they use their given power to overrule the conclave just once. Even then, Tali says that they are required to step down willingly, there can be retribution if they do not but they must resign themselves.

In regards to Tali actually becoming an Admiral (disregarding that she is skipping several ranks, like Captain), any trouble that Daro'Xen causes for Shepard is a greater danger because they do not allow Admirals that have "emotional attachment" to the accused/defendant/target of their stupidity etc have a decision in the vote. That would immediately leave Tali and possibly Shala out of any decisions they make regarding Shepard. Since Koris and Xen are likely to support anything against Shepard, that spells nothing but trouble.
