Same analogy applies to Tali's pilgrimage. Shep has to go to all those planets and clear them out to get her the geth data. If you don't do it, we're not told what she eventually does for her pilgrimage, but she must have found some sort of gift and completed it successfully without Shep's help.Nodscouter wrote...
I think it will matter alot more than this. First of all, it's Shepard who fights the Shadow Broker mostly, I doubt Liara could take him on by herself. Secondly, Shepard gives Liara the information. Without him, she wouldn't know anything.

Is she using a Revenant AR on that pic? Pretty badass...

Sorry Spartan Burger. I put up the challenge image on the motivational thread, but I had forgotten who made the actual motivational. But hey, kudos to you! It made me laugh, and I saved it.
By the way guys, Tali kicks ass with the Locust shotgun you get with Kasumi's DLC. Her infamous shotgun threat has much more meaning now...
Not the same. If Tali had found the Geth data herself, I would agree with you. As it is, it's likely maybe she just went and recovered some derelict ship like other Quarians. Liara on the other hand don't really have any other way to kill the Shadow Broker. She might be a good biotic but the Shadow Broker is probably too much for her by herself. Plus, we also have Tela Vasir. She might not have even gotten to her without Shepard's help. I doubt the DLC will be extremely plot-important, but that doesn't mean there won't be mentions or the like in ME3.NuclearBuddha wrote...

Liara has the resources to order murders and kill assassins by herself. I'd imagine that if the player doesn't buy the DLC, it's not a big stretch for BW to say she took out the SB by herself (either by having Cerberus just give her the data or her figuring out his location alone). The point remains that it's optional DLC, and players in eastern Europe can't even buy it to play! They're not going to make it especially integral, I think.
Sorry, there is a shotgun you get on Kasumi's LM too. Forgotten the name though.Null_ wrote...

It’s been ages since I last had the time to read these forums (I’ve just started university and my timetable is fubar). I’ll try and make up for my absence with this list of a few different variations of “Tali haters” that I’ve come across in this otherwise wonderful community. I’ve also attempted to psychologically profile the different Tali haters to better understand their… um… let’s say irrational behaviour. If anyone thinks I’ve missed anyone or disagrees with something I’ve said, let me know and I’ll consider editing the list to include your suggestions.
Hipster-haters: People who go out of their way to express their dislike for Tali due to their perception her being “mainstream”. These haters usually describe Tali as being too sweet and sugary, and they like to demonstrate their individuality by choosing random profile pictures. By nature Hipster-haters are often Jackmancers, but non-Jackmancers may fall into this category as well.
Trolls: Similar to Hipster-haters in that they also flame Tali for being popular, but with one important difference. Trolls post hate comments purely for the thrill they get from kicking the proverbial hornets’ nest. Their comments make extensive use of slander, offensive statements and lies to generate as many responses as possible. To a troll, one popular character is as good to flame as any other, so long as they get their desired fan rage responses. A typical troll will continue to post in a forum until it is either dealt with by a moderator or “starved” by a lack of responses.
Miranda-mancers: People whose dislike for Tali directly stems from their choice of Miranda as their favourite LI. With Tali and Miranda being the 2 most popular LI’s, Miranda-mancers are the natural enemy of Talimancers, with disputes over which character is more popular a frequent sight. This rivalry is probably born out of a simple sense of tribalism, the need to affirm one’s gang is superior by comparing it to the next biggest gang on the block. As a result, comments from Miranda-mancers are usually something like, “Tali sucks, Miranda is better and here’s why…”.
Miranda-mancers almost universally believe they have numerical superiority over Talimancers. They also tend to think the polls section is skewered so they disregard any poll that shows Tali as more popular than Miranda (Seriously Bioware, why won’t you release the official LI statistics?). Due to these beliefs, Miranda-mancers don’t feel very threatened by Talimancers and hence, are not as protective and vocal as they could be.
Liaramancers: Easily identified by their profile pictures of either Liara or Samara, these are the most complex and enduring type of Tali Hater. Liaramancers are - generally- confused by Tali’s popularity and unable to understand what people see in her. Their inability to comprehend why some players choose Tali over Liara often turns to frustration. More often than not Liaramancers will directly attack Tali’s fans rather than Tali herself, e.g. “ Tali mancers are twelve year old boys/40 year old virgins.”.
However, when Liaramancers do go after Tali they don’t hold back. Their posts mostly start with a statement about how they don’t understand what we all see in Tali, followed by a detailed list of reasons explaining why Tali is their least favourite character/LI. Liaramancers also occasionally demonstrate that they have no sense of irony (joke) by mentioning that they believe Tali was written for “horny teenage boys and lesbians”, disregarding the fact that the Asari already fulfil that role.
Until recently I used to believe it was impossible to reason with any Liaramancer. However the sight of a Liaramancer politely talking with Talimancers on this thread the other day has caused me shift my stance towards some of them.
Garrus-mancers who hate Tali: Non-existent.
