AHEM. Quarian pounce. Just... Quarian Pounce.
Edit: I damn knew that would bring me another top. What was that about false sense of security Tasha? I couldn't hear it over the tops.

Damn! I'll get you back :P

Those collectors are still alive as well. I wonder if they just don't even bother to attempt to attack Tali because they know that their efforts will be futile?
Also, love the morale boost special ability!

I think they are begging Tali to not kill them by becoming her human (collector) throne/pedestal

If they were dead that whole thing would've worked but sense they're alive it looks odd.

They know to behave. She has her shotgun out.

Goodwood wishes to know how many of you Talidivas see her as hooking up with Kal'Reager if you yourselves didn't romance her?

This is the case in his personal head-canon, at any rate.

As much as I like Kal', she'd never go for it. She'll wait for my Shepard.  :P

I always got the impression that, should Shepard be with someone else, Tali would "settle" (for lack of a better word) for Kal.

I think it's very possible. Clearly Tali has some feelings for him and Kal'Reegar at least respects her. Though she might be a little too young and immature for a man like him. He might prefer a hard working enlisted/commoner woman as opposed to some pampered, spoiled officer/noble.

Tali isn't a noble. Kal himself is a squad leader in the Marines (head of the team protecting her on Haestrom, or so Goodwood thinks), so he's probably an officer anyway.

Tali is absolutely a noble. She is the daughter of an Admiral. Kal could be an officer, but he could also just be a senior enlisted man. He seems to old to be an officer of lowly enough rank that Tali is his superior.

But Tali isn't his superior -- at least, it isn't established in any playthrough that Goodwood has ever had and certainly not in any of the Tali romance dialogues. As for her being the daughter of a member of the Admiralty Board, so what? Tali admits herself in the first game that being born to such a guy as Rael'Zorah didn't have any such benefits as that -- she says that she isn't royalty, only that "a lot was expected" of her.

It's obvious from the way Kal always refers to her as "mam" that she is his military/social superior.

She says that under the eyes of the law she was no different from any quarian. However certain expectations and opportunities were afforded to her.

"I probably had it better than most."

Tali's upper class, not some peasant like Kal.

You are making conclusions based on facts not in evidence. Goodwood objects to this, and a judge would probably sustain the objection. She doesn't actually mention the law in the ME1 conversations relating to her father, only when describing the Conclave and the Admiralty Board...and to be frank, while she might have indeed said that she "probably had it better than most," this does not automatically translate into an aristocratic society. Again, Tali herself denies that there is such a caste system.

As for the "ma'am" thing, I grant you that this is probably a sign of respect at least. However, it is not established how old Kal'Reager is, nor is it ever mentioned that Tali is actually in the quarian military. As far as we are made aware, Tali is simply a really talented mechanic/programmer who was able, thanks to her own initiative and help from Shepard, to make quite an impression upon the completion of her Pilgrimage by relaying the geth data to the Flotilla. And because of that, she was given more opportunities to do things to benefit the quarians, and by completing those missions, earning a reputation as a brilliant engineer.

That's it, unless Goodwood has somehow missed half the quarian-related lines in both games.

I doubt there's any such nobility/commoner caste system in post-exodus quarian culture, considering the higly communal nature. However, Tali is still the daughter of a highly influential member, formally so, of quarian society. As distant as daddy dear was, his station still conferred quite a bit of benefit (and additionally, expectations) to Tali.

Tali says herself that her being the daughter of an Admiral didn't make her an 'heir' or different from any other quarian in ME1.

Besides, I find it ludicrous that class boundaries would have an effect on a relationship in this day and age. For my femsheps who go for Garrus or Thane, I can see Tali settling down with Kal. He's a good guy, and my Sheps would approve.

I never really thought much about the kal/tali pairing before, but it seems popular amongst some female fans. However, for me, as much as like the voice actor and seeing the potential in Kal as a more developed character, as well as wanting Tali to be happy in my femShep universe... I almost feel like... there might be someone better waiting for her around the corner. It's not the class thing, can't really put my finger on it though.

Thier friendship isn't shown too much, but I suppose it could be possible. Maybe Tali finds the whole "ma'am" thing a bit adorable. I know I do :?

Use your brain.

Anyone close to the leadership of the fleet or the leadership in any society, is living at level above the rest. Privilages and expectations.

Tali is equal to everyone else on the fleet. She got it a little easier growing up, but is still treated the same. (She says this in ME1). If anything, it's worse for her because she is expected of more.

It's kind of like being a famous person's child. You're equal to everyone else, and maybe get it a little easier in some cases. But you're expected of a lot.

Though you have a point, leaders such as adrmials problaby do get more privlages. But I don't think Quarians really have the time, space, or resources to divide eachother into "classes".

Says the almost-communist.

Besides, it's far more likely she's treated worse because people think she gets treated better than others. She seems to barely have had any connection to her father, so I doubt that'd get  her much.

Yup! Damn class systems shouldn't inflict social barriers...

Maybe Tali could find someone better, (apart from Shepard.) But in game, I can't think of a better person that Kal.
Is there any other Tali pairing other than Shepard and Kal that people here think would suit her?
I know Tali and Garrus pairings are done often in fanfiction, but I have a jealous Shepard. If her best friend goes after her lover, then prepare for angry biotics :P

Tali does benefit from her father's status.

What's her service ship? The Neema. Whose flag is on the Neema? Admiral Han'Gerrel. Who was he close friends with? Admiral Rael'Zorah.

Nepotism.
