Yup! Damn class systems shouldn't inflict social barriers...

Maybe Tali could find someone better, (apart from Shepard.) But in game, I can't think of a better person that Kal.
Is there any other Tali pairing other than Shepard and Kal that people here think would suit her?
I know Tali and Garrus pairings are done often in fanfiction, but I have a jealous Shepard. If her best friend goes after her lover, then prepare for angry biotics :P

I don't know why people say "better" than Kal. To be fair, They never really discuss her other interests in people. So no one is really "better". Please Elabroate?

I imagine she means someone more fitting Tali.

Better suited, I believe is what is meant. Though during my very first playthrough of ME2, I had a feeling that there was something between Kal and Tali (during Haestrom mission). And then immediately got jealous :-P

Also, Doom. You got tops (congrats for beating out Tasha and Nod. They tend to have a monopoly on that). Post a Tali pic please?

:-P

I'll have to dive through my archive of Joke images and serious ones first.

Tali does benefit from her father's status.

What's her service ship? The Neema. Whose flag is on the Neema? Admiral Han'Gerrel. Who was he close friends with? Admiral Rael'Zorah.

Nepotism.

Hmm, in fact it's quite possible that Rael choose the ship where she would have go after the pilgramage, to make sure that someone trusted (by him) keeped and eye on Tali. It would be totally in Rael's style... "I wanna make sure she's safe, so I'll put her in a place where I'll still be able to control her".

Neither of us this time Nod. Hehe.

And yeah, I wondered if anyone can think of anyone in game who you think would make a good pairing (apart from Shepard and Kal.)
Sure Tali benefits from Rael's status, but there are negatives too. She says so herself that more is expected of her on her pilgramage because Rael is an Admiral. But she does not benefit in terms of wealth, or any sort of inheritance, or even legal benefits because she is the daughter of an Admiral.

I agree! I'm an odd Talimancer myself (well, my only manshep went for Tali, hehe.)

And yes, a lot of is... scary.
And not suitable for browsing if your two year old niece is in the room...

You seem pretty normal to me.

But yeah, lots of it is pretty disturbing

That is true, and same can be said for all the other fans.
Also, I do hope that she goes with Kal or someone if you don't romance her. I feel a bit bad for her when I play my Garrusmancer and the same for Garrus on my Talimancer.

Yeah, let's not talk about what you think of fans and concentrate on the character which is the topic of this thread.

WHY SO MANY FAT AND/OR GIANT TALI'S! >.<

Just an aside, I never said anything about fans.

*Stares nervously at the ban-hammerer type person*

And you don't seem that odd, Tasha. Of course, my RL friends have compared me to Caboose (from Red vs Blue), so I suppose I don't really have a good grasp of what's odd and what isn't XD

Is it just me, or do more than a few ME2 characters have "daddy" issues? Tali, Miranda, Grunt (to an extent), Thane (well, his kid), Samara (well, HER kid), Jacob (sort of).

And, I'm sure this has been covered many times before but, what happened to Tali's mother?

Being odd/different is the norm and what elevates one above the thralls.

Back on track: Do you think Tali would be good at battlefield medics?
Like if Shepard was hurt on a mission (Something that medigel won't entirely fix) and there was no one else there and shepard was having trouble moving/fixing himself, how well do you think she would be able to stabilize him?

Aside from giving Shep a shoulder to lean on, I'm not sure she'd be all that good at helping to heal him, what with the differing (holy crap, I'm drawing a blank on the word I want to use. This is awful. I want to say biologies, but I'm pretty sure that's wrong, wrong, wrong >.<).

Anyway, I think she could get him to the shuttle/Mako, but couldn't do much else. Mordin, on the other hand, he'd kick the problem's rear end, lol.

Tali is equal to everyone else on the fleet. She got it a little easier growing up, but is still treated the same. (She says this in ME1). If anything, it's worse for her because she is expected of more.

Some quarians are more equal than others, especially in Tali's case. She knows almost everybody on the damned Admiralty Board, for Christ's sake.

Well (giving her some metal scraps, electronic components and some element zero) she can always install a cyber implant on Shepard's wound in no time! After all she's a master engineer :D

I can see a post-deadly-wounded-Shepard with a mechanical arm protruding from his stomach. And holding ANOTHER missile launcher.

Yes, she may not be an expert, but she probably knows the basics, especially after the romance.
She had the First Aid and the nice nurse suit in ME1, too.

Link, you don't know me in RL. Hehe. I'm pretty odd.

Shepard can ask Tali about her mother in ME1 when she talks about her father. I'm pretty sure she said that she died soon after Tali was born. But Nucclear Buddha covers Tali's mum really nicely in his fanfiction (which I highly recommend to everyone :D)

And it would be awesome if Tali gave Shepard some cybernetics to save his life, she made need help from Mordin though, for the medical stuff.

Her mother died a few years before ME1, not right after Tali was born.

Infection due to an air-filtration malfunction if I remember?  I would also think that Tali would be well versed in combat first aid due to her own special requirements. Field surgery on humans, definately not, but basic first aid in the field deals with the same things for many species.

I'm sure Tali is competent at basic first aid, but she's not a doctor.

Tali swears more than any other squadmate except for Jack and maybe Zaeed. Granted, I don't know the intensity of the expletive, bosh'tet, but still. I thought quarians lived in a clean environment?
