Oh yes. Continuing your ME2 relationship after rekindling things with Liara would be genuine cheating. Shep deserves what he gets.

If you ended up with Tali after continuing the romance with Liara in LotSB, Liara's gonna be pissed.

As would Tali vice versa. Both of them would have a right to be mad.

To cheat on Tali after "linking suits" would just be an absolute betrayal of trust. I'd argue it's worse than turning in the evidence at her trial.

It's pretty astounding how much of a jerk Shepard can be.

Collider: Yes you can break it off if you romanced her in ME1.

Is there even an option to break things off with Liara in the DLC? I would hope there would be.

The only way I can think of is trying to keep it as neutral as possible.

That's good. Being unable to would be horrible. Though it does not pertain to me. I did not romance anyone in ME1. Just romanced Tali (so far as my male Shepard goes).

Ack, a conflicting account. I was hoping for a straight answer.

I wonder what's in store for the romance in the next DLC.

well if it is Ash I would expect a very very angry woman I fell a slap coming on and then rascit comment about Tali and then they will most likely make up I guess.

Well, if it is something for the Virmire Survivor, it's of less importance to me (since I didn't romance Ash).  Though it would be funny if she had something unkind to say about my Shep's serial flirting (got to the confrontation point for Ash/Liara in ME2, went with someone else in ME2).

I honestly haven't a clue what an unromanced Ash would say about Tali.  Maybe something snarky about "guess you really like aliens, huh, skipper?"

Anyway, I think that it will be "outside" views of what's going on, like LotSB.  That way they only need to VA in question, not the VA for each individual LI.

This is what I think should and hopefully will happen. More romance references, like they did with Kasumi and Liara's DLC. It's wonderful and what makes the romances feel more legitimate and not in their own self contained island.

It's like telling Tali that it was just his curiosity which got the better of him, and now he's decided to move on. Douchebaggery on high level, indeed.

To continue with Liara, you have to spell it out very clearly that you want it. No "Hello Shepard, I am Liara, asari are not promiscuous, I find you intriguing, let's meld." There's a clearly labeled "Let's be friends" path. My canon Shepard stayed single too, was holding out for Tali.

The trigger, as far as I can tell, is the dialogue choice JUST BEFORE the dialogue that invites her up to the Normandy.

I forget the convo, but it's pretty clear that she wants to know about where the relationship is.  The UR and middle options look like they rekindle things with Liara.  The LR option says things are over:  "no hard feelings."

I was on pins and needles, though, really.  I didn't want to have to reload the game.  Some things can't be unseen.  It was honestly a little sad seeing Tali help Feron out of the room so Shep could talk to Liara.  I can only imagine what she would have been thinking.

INTERVIEW WITH EMILY WONG

Today, a very special exclusive with Commander Shepard.  He'll respond to rumors of his involvement with pro-human organization Cerberus, as well as let us in on what it was like to see the Migrant Fleet!

(and then Shep gets ambushed about his chief engineer)

first a shotgun blast by Tali then crushed by Liara's biotics and he would have deserved every bit of it.

Shepard catching flak about being in a relationship with a Quarian would be great and would further illustrate racial tension in the galaxy.

that could be very funny and I would like to have that interview with Emily Wong in ME3 so Shepard could annunce who is his favorite girl in the galaxy which is in this case Tali.

Tali will be so blushing if that happens.

Saving it for ME3, most likely. Or perhaps the Virmire Survivor DLC. If it does happen, having some reference to Shepard's romance would be great.

Nah, you don't punch Wong, you punch al-Jilani.  Wong's the nice one.

And yes, it would be a good time to revisit the "I'm Commander Shepard and this is my favorite..." meme.

Right after the interview, Shepard and Tali gets jumped by Terra Firma telling them that what they're doing is wrong. Shepard/Tali's response?

Telling them to go take a hike, of course.

In LotSB, Liara mentions you with Tali, if you didn't cheat on Liara, she says nice things.

I'd be a little irritated at that. In ME1 I was polite to Terra Firma: there's nothing wrong with a race standing up for its own interests. However, dictating who you shouldn't sleep with falls pretty far outside a reasonable political agenda for them.

Not to mention that if the quarians had anything to offer, they'd be natural allies of humanity: they don't compete for the same planets, they're outsiders like humans are, etc.
