So cute... Shepard instead looks like a statue :D

@jamesp81

About Tali and JAcob: she doesn't know that Jacob isn't xenophobic / racist like the majority of Cerberus personnel. For all she know he could be polite because he must, or because it facilitates his purposes... like TIM did. He was all polite, cooperating with Shep, but he's a bastard that backstabs you in the end.

Then your not a tali lover. Tali knows not to trust Cerberus. Neither should you.

TIM is a bastard in many ways... but he never lied to you about his motives. His number 1 goal is the supremacy of mankind. Period. No 1 person or thing is important enough to jeapordize it.

Hell he is one of my favorite bad guys. He tells you straight up what he wants. So from the very first moment you just dont trust him. Simple, clean efficient and relaxing. You dont gota bust your brains trying to figure whether he is lying... or usiong you, or tricking you for some ultirior motive.

Rule of thumb is he is doing all of the above from the start :P

1 I don't understand, why I'm not a Tali lover? I'm ok with her hating Cerberus, I hate Cerberus too. I only said that not ALL the Cerberus "employees" are bad xenophobic racist. Chambers is not evil, neither Gabby, Ken or Jacob (I don't include MIranda 'cause I still don't trust her, but it's a personal thought). Those guys don't know / accept that Cerberus is so evil.

When you find Veetor, Jacob says no one will harm him because he don't know / believe the fact that Cerberus tortures people. He's "ignorant". Miranda is one of the top operatives and probably knows it, and probably lies (that's why I don't like her, but maybe even she don't know that - I dunno)

2 Ok, he's clean and efficient and relaxing. But that's a method for persuading people (he do that all the time in the novels). But I'm pretty sure he don't tell you / lieas about certain things, like (if I remember right)  the Collector ship.
From Mass Effect wikia:

p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 23.0px; font: 13.0px Helvetica}

The Illusive Man intentionally allows Shepard to walk into a trap, to fool the Collectors into thinking that they have the upper hand, in order to gain information on how to pass through the Omega 4 Relay; Shepard was not happy at the apparent betrayal but the Illusive Man tells Shepard that he trusted the Commander could escape safely should any danger happen.

I dunno you, but I would be pissed off if someone intentionally would let me in a trap he made. Even if after that he apologizes.

And however, he didn't tell you "Oh, just to let you now, I'm gonna hunt you with my special ops with shotguns and badass close combat blades after you finish up your business with the Collector base and save the humanity again" :D

Tali doesn't trust them.

But you stated TIM "betrayed you". You have to trust someone for you to feel betrayed, and if you felt betrayed that means you at one point trusted the man behind the flotilla incident, no?
If you never trusted him, then it wasn't a surprised when he put you in harms way.

Tali said it herself , "your their most important asset, but once they have no need for you anymore..."
Tali is always expecting TIM to do something against them. So when it does happen she wont be surprise.

Of course I'm a Tali lover.  I don't like Cerberus or TIM at all.  But I do like Jacob.  He's a good guy that has enough sense to know what needs to be done without drinking TIM's kool aid in the process.  Tali is understandably emotional about Cerberus in general, but Jacob's one of the good guys.

Well, I think that someone can betray you even if you don't trust him. TIM rebuilt Shep, worked with him, financed him. He cooperated with him.

Even Shep won't be surprised when it will happen. But he needs TIM.

However, I also think that TIM would betray someone if that would facilitate his business or the human supremacy.

While Miranda isn't one of my favorite characters, she isn't as mindless or diehard loyal to TIM as some of you think. She agreed with blowing up the Collector Base rather than keeping it, and even quits Cerberus right in front of Shepard and to TIM's face if you bring her along on the suicide mission and go with the Paragon option.

Of course, those that really don't trust either might say it was all a show to stay in Shep's good  graces to facilitate a betrayal further down the road, but Miranda never struck me as careful planning type.

That, and she'd have to go through Tali and her shotfun first.  Something I don't see happening  :P

EDIT:

I'm aware it says shotfun.  I've decided to leave it that way because "shotgun?  More like shotFUN!"  Sorry, I'm amused easily.

Also, I see TIM and know it stands for Illusive Man, but a small part of me goes "Some people call me...Tim" everytime I've seen it so far.  And then I picture Tim the Enchanter's outfit on the Illusive Man, and I'm amused.

As I said, I'm easily amused, lol.

1. Tali, well. What can I say?
2. I think Jacob's a good guy, like a lot of the crew I think he only really joined up because Cerberus actually does things.
3. http://browse.devian...set=72#/d2iftb7 (this has got to happen at some point.

TIM can use Oriana to force Miranda against her will to stay with Cerberus.

Jacob always seemed very inconsistent in who he liked and who he didn't like anyway. Even though Tali shows her obvious distrust and disgust at Cerberus. Jacob likes her, and welcomes her very warmly. Whereas he immediately takes a dislike to Thane even though he is cool and polite, just because he is an assassin.

But Tali is justified in not trusting Cerberus due to what she saw them do in ME1.

I'm still honestly suprised in that last humourous Tali 'emotion' compliation and now mentioning Jacob's first introduction to her, we havent seen the 'Quarian Death Glare' picture yet.

Well people always say I look like I want to kill them (not always true), so I started practicing maintaining a poker face and I was still able to get my feeling across. I'm a weird person I guess.

If you get a chance Tasha, read the 'Ascension' book. It will definately clarify for you, Tali's (and the other quarian's) distrust of Cerberus. Jacob is quilty by association, even though he probably doesn't deserve to be. Tali learns her prejudice the same way we all do...ignorance.

Hey Tasha, I think Tali's mistrust stems more from Cerberus' actions in trying to blow up that ship on the flotilla.

As far as Oriana goes, presumably only Miranda knows where she's headed. I'm sure TIM could find out if necessary. Perhaps that will be some type of plot hook in ME3.

Unfortunately "guilt by association" tends to lean towards being correct most of the times. Not all the times and this times that doesn't hold true are still often seen.

But if your guilty by association... that usually tends to be because those your associating with have given others enough reason for suspicion.

Either way everyone should be judged individually or everyone is innocent until proven otherwise, but seldom the time to do it is available to hold true to the previous statement. When it comes to hairy situations whether is right or not, is "safer" and I use the word loosely to lean on the side of the big brush. Like they say, is easier to apologize than to beg for mercy.
