Quick question. (Is actually important, not asking for asking's sake)

How do you reckon Tali would react to guy whose personality is thus:

"Earlier in the story, he is incredibly flippant, mouthing off to even the most powerful of opponents, and he generally enjoys rubbing people the wrong way. He does mature as time goes by, but never really loses his attitude. He is seemingly unflappable, not showing fear whether he's being attacked by overwhelming odds. He rarely shows any seriousness. He can be serious when the situation calls for it, but he still maintains a fairly laid-back demeanor during such situations and is never without a witty taunt or comeback. He can seem at times to be uncaring or even callous, but actually has a very strong sense of justice and prefers to fight fairly. He can be counted on to do the right thing, even if he makes cynical quips about it the entire time."

That's why it is a good thing we've got folks like Cerberus and their Overlord project on our side. Plus teaming up with the quarians gives us access to their greatest mind as well; Daro'Xen.

I'm going to have to agree with this second part.

Of all the admirals, Daro'Xen seems the most competent and actually knows what the hell she is doing in terms of the admiralty board. Yeah shes a few grains short of a loaf a bread but you need to recognize that most geniuses are toeing the line or just hopping right over into the lunatic area. I see her playing a large role in the final chapter of these games, one way or another. One could make the argument that she has sociopathic qualities which might make her an enemy but I guess thats for BW to decide.

"You're insane" Tali says. Indeed she is, but that doesn't make her a possible asset. Heck, Jack and Mordin and Morrinth are squadmates.

You might have meant to say this different, but I'll support this statement. I'm in full agreement with Tali on this one...Daro'Xen and Saphra are insane.

To clarify, Saphra Deden, Xen isn't the one who developed the geth taming weapon she supposedly found on the Alarei, she simply plans to use it. She isn't a genius or anywhere near the level of intelligence of the scientists on the flotila or Tali, who's tech expertise allowed her to give the Normandy those cutting edge shields. I think we can say with some confidence that Daro'Xen isn't the greatest mind of the Quarian species.

The fact that quarians have actually created a race of synthetics that have developed a conciousness through a shared network.

The Quarians did make the Geth a sentient race by accident however (still a massive achievement though). I'm suprised that they lost control of them afterwards. It's strange that they didn't build the Geth with some sort of base safety programing, like the 3 laws of robotics or something, to stop them from hurting their "masters" under any circumstance. Although I guess if the Quarians ever used the Geth for fighting in their military before they rebelled, it would explain how the Geth as a whole could bypass the saftey protocals of the civillian Geth.
Also what did Tali say in ME1 with regards to how the Mourning War started and why the Quarians lost? Wasn't it something to do with the other races refusing to help?
I haven't played ME1 (would if I could, but I use a PS3)so my knowledge in this area is patchy at best.
Edit: Just so everyone knows, I've followed Mass Effect's story since the first game was released. I do know what happens in ME1, I just haven't had every line of dialoge drilled into me from multible playthroughs like with ME2.

Hey there, I'd just like to nip in here and point out an excellent fanfic that has Tali/Shepard in it, although it's really much deeper than a romance fling. The shell of heroism is a deep, dramatic retelling of the mass effect main story and is, in my opinion, the best telling of the tale ever. The fic is already finished and the sequel, The Spirit of Heroism, is just as good as the first installment.

Please, check it out; you won't be disappointed.

How do you beat a virus?... by experiementing on it. I endorse it. is it right? hell no. But you need biological weapons just in case... is just something you need it has to be done. Will you ever used them.... very unlikely but as always u need insurance.

Now do I agree "how" they did it. No.

I think Xen will be an enemy in ME3. I think if you try to para both sides together and the results start to look favorable she'll use the control code the Aleri made and gain control of all geths perhaps even Legion sense by this point he would've been brought back into the geth and linked with all his brothers on the matters of ME2. She'll use the geth to start killing all the Quarians who were not on her side including the Admirty board.

Para shep will knock out Legion and try to wound geth and only kill if they have no choice. Ren shep would kill Legion and might just leave the ships to their fate. Anyway we have to get to Xen kill or disable her and use the undo the control on the geth then take Xen to the Admirlty and prove she was trying to under mind the peace effort. If both sides can belive that then we get Rannoch back if not then the Quarians go to war with the geth and we get the planet back ren style with barely a fleet left to repopulate it.

I'm talking Project Overlord specifically, not the goal of trying to gain control of the Geth (a horrible idea, imo). Project Overlord was an abomination. Being ok with Project Overlord would like being ok with testing said biological weapons on mentally handicapped individuals because, hey, what else are they good for?

Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Wrong, wrong, wrong.

?
whats with the idealistic views. Say it. Project overlord was testing weapons on a sentient species.

No different than testing antrax on humans.

is it wrong?.... of course it is. Will it be done. of course it will.

Even more when it comes to different species in space. Creating bioweapons is a must and easier actually. Since there is no fear of killing your own upon release like human against humans.

Is it wrong. of course. Is it necesary also true. Will they ever be used.... unlikely.

I'm not currently talking about those points, I'm talking about the person used to get Project Overlord off the ground: an "idiot savant" for lack of a better word. It's like taking advantage of a child.

It would be like hooking up a group of mentally handicapped people to a device that is used to run a biological weapons facility.

It's wrong if it's done on ANY sentient being, but ESPECIALLY on those who can be taken advantage of so easily due to decreased mental capacity.

The project is wrong from the ground up. Experimenting on geth or on the savant is the same thing, unforgivable. Where is your bleeding heart for the geth?

I just said it's wrong if it's done on any sentient race/being.

That aside, I was trying to make a specific point regarding the use of the mentally handicapped (and/or children) in experiments. As bad as it is to essentially mind control the Geth, it's worse to use people who can be so easily taken advantage of. Though some would argue the Geth aren't really sentient or alive, but I disagree.

Off topic again... We were warned recently.
So, a subject that Sephra  no one can troll.

Let's say that, hypothetically, the Mako makes a glorious return in ME3. What kind of banter could you see between Shepard and Tali?
(That's Tali, not Xen by the way, this is a Tali thread after all.)

S: Tali, I found that the Mako was still intact while I was exploring the Normandy crash site! I recovered it! Aren't you happy?? I'm going to tell it to Garrus, could you check the Mako's engine in the meantime?

*runs away*

T: Sure.

*jettisons all the cargo, including the Mako*

Shepherd: Tali, the alliance replaced the hammerhead with another Mako.

Tali: Shepherd, Don't. Let. Garrus. Near it. He's a terrible mechanic.

Any speculation on where Tali is at the beginning of ME3? I'm still convinced that anyone not in the Alliance will be banned from Shepherd's court martial, so she has to be somewhere. I believe it is possible for her to be back at the fleet (assuming she wasn't banned) trying to voice her opinion on the geth. I doubt she'd be an admiral by that point, possibly because of her romantic involvement with Shepherd, the death of her father could be used against her, mentally unstable and all that. I think she might just occupy herself by exploring Earth. Reapers invade, Shepherd leaves before he realized she's gone. Opinions?

Damn. I need to hurry up finishing my canon playtrough, I still have to play Arrival >.<

IMO I hope Tali's not going to be easily separated from Shep, after all the things that happened between them!
