We're really not sure, because the dossier can be interpreted many different ways. However it'd okay to say that she at least finds human males attractive. Anything beyond that is kind of up in the air.jtav wrote...
Would it be reasonable to assume Tali is a xenophile, rather than this being a case of "It's You, it's Okay?" Is she normally attracted to humans?

That doesn't really fit her looking up her upbringing, no. But again, your story.jtav wrote...

It would make a little sense for quarians to be more easily attracted to other species (since they rarely see each other's faces looks would be irrelevent)

She did spend an awful lot of time with humans from the first game -- humans that treated her with kindness the likes that quarians normally don't receive outside of the flotilla. Her main attraction seems to be Shepard, but I think she has fondness for the whole species.jtav wrote...

I don't think you're going to find consensus here on that point. A xenophile will think she is one, someone who isn't normally attracted to aliens will think she isn't.jtav wrote...

This is also plausible. She was treated very well by the crew of the original Normandy. Way better than any other quarian we've seen outside of the Fleet so far.

I'd probably go with her being attracted to the human male form. Quarian male form is pretty similar, anyhow. Broad shoulders, etc.jtav wrote...

Shepard transcends those things.

To be honest, I only found one of Shepard's lines to be bad in all of Tali's romance so I won't complain.

I found that the way he said "tali?" at the end of "You in, Tali?" when he sits down for some poker with Gabby and Ken seemed forced and utterly... different.
EDIT: Yeah, I know thats not actually part of the romance.

Yes and I think the fact that it was "Shepard's Crew" is why she is mainly attracted to Shepard. (Paragon) Shepard is a great role model, treating everyone regardless of race or species equally, and the crew reacts to that. Even Ashley softens a little by the end of ME1, and the Normandy crash site dlc shows how Pressly had changed.
It is also important to note that maybe Tali sees humanity's potential because of Shepard. But the C-Sec officer, volus, and Quarian credit chit event shows that not every human is like Shepard. Which may be a reason she likes Shepard even more.
I haven't played with majority renegade so I don't know if that changes anything. Also sorry if this has been sayed before.

Well, Shepard is supposed to conform with the player's mindset at least a little. They still don't have this right...

It's early in ME1 and my Shepard wants to get to know the non-human members of her crew better. I was thinking....take them out to dinner, but I'm not sure if that would work or how that would work out with quarians. My second choice is just to take them out to a small and uncrowded night club to avoid the whole issue with quarians dining out in public...how they would do that and if they would want to eat out with people they don't really know yet and aren't quite comfortable with. Any thoughts? What would Tali prefer Shepard do? I think the 'go out for some drinks and talk' wouldn't be a problem, but I'm hardly an expert on this all.

Going out to eat should be no problem. It would provide an opportunity to learn about quarian culture when Tali starts eating slushfood from a tube.
OK, I had others say she might be uncomfortable. It would be a good chance to get to know Tali and the quarians from Shepard's perspective, but I'm worried how Tali would feel about it all. If she would even agree to it. I was thinking she'd be excited to go, but I also had doubts.

If they are friends it would be a little awkward, but I think she would be ok with it. Just my opinion.jlb524 wrote...

Tali would likely enjoy it since she is far from the wall-flower some people make her out to be. It might just be a little awkward due to the way she has to eat food however.
