EDIT: Out of tradition, top of the page Tali, one of the few pictures that doesn't make me want to puke rainbows:

I'd rather they just go with no hair.

I would prefer to see Tali with hair. The way her hood always simulated the appearance of hair has left me with a mental perception of Tali just...having hair. I wouldn't like it if how Tali looks without her helmet betrays the general image that I get from her hood. It's an identifying part of Tali's suit that I think should be mirrored in her unmasked appearance.

With regards to Tali's facial structure, my only desire is that it doesn't stray too far from what we can make out under her visor in Mass Effect 1 and 2. I'm perfectly OK with sticking to those general features, and I'm rather hoping the designers give Tali a face that's more beautiful than hot.

You can dislike concepts all you want, but if it's implemented in the game, your complaints will regarded as butt-hurt syndrome.

And should they make an attractive face under the mask instead of a hideous face that only someone of that species could love, your complaints of "We don't need to see the face!" will be regarded as butt-hurt syndrome.

PS: Stop parading around as if the "Ugly Tali" stance is inherently superior or something.

It seem I am the only one here that has no expectations on Tali's appearance/don't care what she looks like?

Yes you're the only one. Out of thousands of fans

All I ask for is when/if she takes off her mask, she nervously bites her lip, has an embarrassed snort-laugh, and smiles

Yes, please. You haven't changed one bit, Rage lol

@Flashheart
I see what you mean. The artist designed both her hoods to be a representation of hair, but we know appearances can be deceiving. IMO either way is believable.

Yes, those complaints would. Fortunately, I don't care what she looks like. Anyone who takes offense at her appearance is butt-hurt. Thanks for agreeing with me :wizard:

The fact that her veil was done as "replacer" for hairs doesn't mean that quarians have real hairs under the helmet. It was a designer's choice to make her more recognizable and probably to balance the odd feeling that someone could have talking with someone who wears an high-tech gasmask all the time.

Also, talking doing considerations in-universe only: recently, in one of the GameInformer posts, it was said that the asari's "eyebrows" are painted/tattoed (that's why someone have them on some other don't) and that for them it's just on kind of facial mark like the others, not meant to resemble human-like eyebrows. It could be the same for quarian veils: the fact that for humans resemble certain kind of hairstyles, they could wear them for totally different reasons than simulating their real hairs.

Not that I'm particularry pro or agains quarians with hairs, I'm just saying... don't expect that automatically they'll have them only because of the veil's resemblance with human hairs.

I wonder how many people given the option would just toggle her helmet back on, being so used to it anyway.

On the whole insectoid banter, I'm no insectologist, but when I think of such things I dont think of a bad immune system, they always seem to me as creatures that have good immune systems, and are mainly carriers, so I cant see it turning out that way, doesnt suit the role to me.

Not to mention that Rannoch didn't have insects.

But anyway, we're not going to see anything too outre, I think.

a.  Shep was okay with whatever he saw without commentary.
b.  Ascension has them with almost all the humanoid facial features.
c.  What we can see of her face is relatively normal.

You are far from the only one.
I can see the charm of your scenario. I would also be fine with a quarian rapeface followed by the classic quarian pounce.

To be perfectly honest I still think they shouldn't show her face (there's another thread around here somewhere, my reasons are there). But no matter what she looks like, she's still got a great personality.

( PS The only reason I dislike the insectoid image is due to the fact I have one great big irrational fear of insects. Not due to any aestethic bias. However I do believ such an idea in and of itself wouldn't fit with what we know about the Quarians)

Talk to Tali in ME1.

Why wouldn't he be okay with Alien!Tali?

It means she's not ugly.

The books don't exist.

Only comic Evolution doesn't exist.
And Genesis.

An illusion.

Only nose and eyes( ignore glowing part) are very human.

I don't have a problem with space-elf Tali, just as long as her face fits her voice and personality. I'm on the fence about insect Tali, though. It's unique, but...I don't like insects.If/when they reveal her face in ME3, I'd prefer it to be at least semi-human.

You just know this is why they're struggling with the decision to reveal Tali's face, or not. My personal preferences are sure to be different from someone else's and the reverse is also true.  It's probably a no win for them or a very tuff call to say the least. If they show her face great !, if not I'll be fine with the picture in my head.

As far as the "insect Tali" look...meh, not for me. It doesn't fit the few clues we have. (see buddha's post)
