I would figure that if Garrus is getting an updated armor look, so is Tali. Should be interesting to see what it is.

So far as revealing her face...I honestly would not care much if they didn't, but I don't think trying to preserve everyone's preconception of what she looks like is important.

No and in fact the suits do change over time. But another major change such as ME1 to ME2 is not needed.

There's no reason not to get redesigns.  Most people like a little change, especially if it turns out being cool.  For instance, chrome Garrus looks awesome.

And the fact that Shepard looked like he liked what he saw, then it means that her appearance isn't repelling. Especially seeming though Shepard was fine to have her pounce on him. But I would think that Tali should at least look alien.

I see it as a good thing. Something to the level of the drell could be a good compromise.

Apart from 'humanoid' everything else should read as uniquely 'Quarian'.

Especially considering that Rannoch had no insects.  Wouldn't make a lot of sense for the planet's highest biological form to be an insect when they aren't any on the rest of the planet.

I can think of two reasons why this might not be true (Shep liking what he saw)

1. Everybody in the ME universe knows what quarians looks like under the mask. It's not like all records of their faces got wiped out, events like the quarian entertainer demasking and kissing someone on stage while receiveing an award (in Cerberus Daily News) means it's no great mystery...And if you got close enough to a quarian you'd probably be able to see inside. It's purely a device by the devs to enhance the mystique of the quarians and drive fans crazy. And it's worked. So there's a good chance that Shepard has some idea of what he's getting into.

If that's not good enough for you, I'd place even money on Fornax having quarterly spreads on buck nekkid quarians.

2. Shepard and Tali have been through a LOT together. They're not just romantic partners, but longtime friends. That kind of thing can transcend more shallow attraction impulses. Add to that the deepening of their relationship through ME2, from fangirl/hero worship to more mutual respect and admiration, looks don't count anymore.

One other thing... who's to say that quarians find humans remotely attractive? Could be Tali's wishing Shepard is the one with the mask.
