I guess some people think the romance portraits Tali's whole personality.

I think the romances portray alot for all of the LI's.  Everyone has their "public face" (no pun intended with Tali), and personality that they have with people day to day.  Get to know them personally and the barriers drop.  People act differently with friends/family compared to strangers.    Confident people turn out to be depressed/shy/etc. or quiet people turn out to be funny/intelligent/etc.

I don't really like taking Tali to the final battle with the Shadowbroker. His comment about her and Liara's response really just don't mesh well.

Also Kasumi better be giving that quarian poem book to Tali as a gift.

Kasumi, would trade it to Tali for a favor , she wouldn`t give anything to Tali (or to anyone) fro free. I bet she would ask Tali help upgrade her multitool to have the same " experimental lock breaker" Liara had in Lostb.

Ya thats always bugged me. Taking Tali along during, say, the Shadow Broker mission. Why would I take a squishy Quarian in an enviro-suit along to take out an army of some of the game's most advanced enemies?

Because you're going on the most awesome ship ever.

It's one of the reasons I don't think Tali actually stayed mad at Shepard when checking out the power systems. Maybe it's just me.

That'd be interesting. Based on her logs on Haestrom, I can see Tali having an interest in ancient Quarian architecture/artifacts. Liara probably has a rudimentary knowledge about the same thing.

Yes, that would be interesting...thanks for the plot bunny!

I took her and Garrus in my first playthrough for 100% "old times".  The next playthrough I went with my more typical and preferred Miranda and Zaeed.

I like to run Tali and Zaeed on non-loyalty missions. The guys a beast against all forms of shielding, and Tali can distract tougher enemies with Chikktika.

I dont know about that, Kasumi seems to really like Tali. Plus Kasumi seems to be a theif less for the money and more for how much she enjoys her work. Of course Tali being the nice girl she is would probably upgrade Kasumi's omnitool anyway.

Tali is murder on synthetic enemies. But you really don't run into that many of them in Mass Effect 2. And LOKI mechs have armor on hardcore and insanity.

Though I noticed she absolutely would not go down on LotSB with heavy shield-drain and the geth shotgun.

She died for me a lot, but I suppose I don;t utalize her to her fullest as she is not my typical choice.

When I have access to both Legion and Tali (which is pretty much the very end of the game since that's when I do the IFF mission), I will take them with me everywhere. I love using the double Attack Drone combo.

My male Shepard is an engineer. Him, Tali, and Legion made insanity easy mode.

Harbinger: I'm covered in droooooones!

Yes, it's quite powerful.  I usually play as an Engineer, and I took Tali with me the last time through LotSB....the battle were a lot easier with two drones.

How does Chikktika fare as Attack on Insanity? I always go Explosive.
I managed to run completely out of ammo on that last big fight at the locked door. Liara went down and I had to rely on Tali's AI to finish off a handful of mercs. Thank the good lord for shield drain.

I really never saw the benefit of evolving her drone into an attack one. It's going to die in five seconds anyway so it might as well explode and do some damage first.

Also Tali is very useful for insanity adept runs since that drone keeps enemies from ripping you apart while you launch biotics.

I never go Explosive Drone. Most of the time, the enemies will spread out, making the explosion a little less explosive. Attack Drone cuts through defenses, which is a must when you're playing a defense-intensive Insanity mode. I've always had it do much more damage and last a lot longer for me. When I have Tali and Legion both, I alternated their drones. By the time one went down, the cooldown on the other was ready to go.

Also, there are a couple places where ammo does respawn periodically throughout the fight at the locked door. 'Course, you have to get to them first without dying.

I get a lot more out of Singularity than I would out of Tali's drone. In those situations, her Energy Drain is her greatest asset to the fight. Her drone is the distraction she needs to get into shotgun range.

She fared well, with the 2 attack drones, plus Liara's Singularity to immobilize 3 enemies every time.  I would pick 3 enemies to target with each of those powers, then quickly remove their shields and finish them off.

I only had troubles with the Azure merc battle, as some would flank my Engineer and I'd be screwed...but then I figured out the best cover spots, so then I was all good.

Would it be reasonable to assume Tali is a xenophile, rather than this being a case of "It's You, it's Okay?" Is she normally attracted to humans?

I would think that she's attracted more to who Shepard is and what he does, rather than what race he is.  Listen to what she says about him:  she talks about how he accepted her despite who she was, she talks about how he's a courageous captain, she talks about the heroic things he's done.

It's because of all that that she's willing to try to make things work, not because she's a xenophile.  You could write it that way, but there's not really much proof for it within the game.

The Explosive Drone's pulse doesn't even deal enough damage to warrant it over the Attack Drone. For an ability with one of the longest recharge times in the game, assuming that it will be destroyed (and then allowing that to happen) isn't a very strategic move.

Tried using it a couple times, and I simply couldn't find a good use for it compared to Attack Drone.

I usually leave Tali to rot in Engineering. My preferred squadmates are Miranda and Legion, the 2 most useful squaddies ingame. Miranda's powers are ownage quality, while Legion has a Widow and the drone, while Tali only has a crap shotgun. It's a no-contest.

Going out to eat should be no problem. It would provide an opportunity to learn about quarian culture when Tali starts eating slushfood from a tube.

OK, I had others say she might be uncomfortable.  It would be a good chance to get to know Tali and the quarians from Shepard's perspective, but I'm worried how Tali would feel about it all.  If she would even agree to it.  I was thinking she'd be excited to go, but I also had doubts.

A walk might actually be a better idea:  she enthuses a lot about the atmosphere of the wards in ME1.

Ironically, the geth plasma shotgun makes Tali incredibly powerful again. That thing is overpowered as hell.

In your well mannered opinion. It is about strategy and how you use squadmates. If you don't use them right, you won't get the expected results. Tali's energy drain is very useful and her combat drone is a godsend on upper difficulties.

Yeah, but who needs a shotgun when you've got a sniper rifle?

I keep her back to guard a flank while I snipe.  Thus her drone is for my own safety.
