In ME1, she was pretty much the only introduction you had to the quarian race, so she was the only way you could learn about the quarian race. But I agree, she seemed like a walking codex.

But in ME2, she really gained a great personality. Her character really developed and her enthusiasm is really kinda contagious! (In a good way :P)

As for Daddy issues. Not nearly as much as some other squaddies.

In ME2 he did seem a little more of a character but not too much. Hell even his loyalty mission was just an excuse to highlight the Geth/Quarian struggle. To me I just find there's no actual character but rather a bridge the writers use to make the Quarians seem relevant to the game (their struggle isn't really relevant in ME2).

Do you mean she? Tali is a she.

Artist name is in the picture.

Honestly I like this depiction of Tali, though it still isn't *alien* enough for me, and its still too fantasy elf to me.

Edit edit: Oh found a neat "how to draw Tali" in deviant art. http://dolmheon.devi...lar tali&qo=106

Notice the "Starring" list.
*happies*

I have my own idea what's going to happen to Tali in ME3 (pessimistic view; i somewhat doubt that she will be squad mate). I hope that I'm wrong.

Garrus is almost 100% confirmed as returning squadmate, and the rumors around Jack seems to poin her too as very plausible return too. Why Tali couldn't be back too? She's even got her second name changed in the one of our ship, dammit!

Substitute for the hair, swap out the pointy ears for something less familiar and top picture would be my favourite depiction so far.

I agree, I just like the art itself.

I think we have been over this already, but I want an *alien* Tali. Unfortunately we are constrained by the human silhouette, so any alien features will probably feel "startreckish."

He kept the Rayya part of his name throughout ME1 so I doubt that's a good enough reason to see him return.

The way I see it it's inevitable that she will join the fleet and replace her father. I, of course, could be wrong but that's what I'm expecting.

Again, why would the Geth attempt to make peace when they would be attacked if the Quarians felt they had an advantage?

Why would the quarians make peace when the geth are just going to hold their evolutionary nature against them? You see, the peace process is hopeless. This is why I support Daro'Xen and Koris is just a suitwetter.

Edit: about top pic

Get rid of this big elvaan ears and we're good to go.

Don't just toss Arcian's opinions just because he has a different view folks. He brings us some interesting points that should at least be considered.

It's the same crap I've heard a hundred times from a hundred different people.

Nishiktal wrote...

Considering the Geth are trying to stay as far away from the organics as possible in order to prevent any sort of conflicts, I am of the opinion that even one platform is an extremely generous motion from them.

I'm not impressed or grateful in the least. If the geth want peace they need to initiate dialog at the top level with the Council/Alliance/othergovernments. Otherwise I interpret their isolationism as hostility and in light of recent events I need to be prepared for the worst and might need to proactive action to eliminate the threat entirely.

Nashiktal wrote...

You must consider how the Geth see this.

I am well aware of their view, it is a very simple one. They fear the quarians capacity to do them harm. They know that the quarians are ultimately logical organisms and if they can get rid of a threat they will. The geth understand that the quarians see them as a threat and an obstacle. However this goes both ways. As long as the quarians know the geth see them this way they have no choice but to take proactive steps to mitigate the geth threat. Neither side can afford to lay down their swords.

The Garrus thread is here Garrus thread....that is the character that you prefer, if I'm not mistaken.

Garrus fans and Tali fans have always been friends and allies in the glorious fight for xenophilia, dextro bros and mocking haters. Let's stay allied please, I belive most of us are strongly pro team dextro anyway.

I can live with this.

Arcian wrote...Also, there is no singular platform large enough to hold every geth in existence. Therefore, no matter how you angle the idea, a lot of "uniqueness" is inevitably going to be lost, which would equal mass murder on an intellectual and sapient level.

Who even suggested this? You throw this out as an absolute truth without evidence. Whose angling an idea?

Not trying to continue the bickering here, just wanted to explain what I meant.

Talking to Legion reveals that the primary goal of the geth is to create a Dyson-esque megastructure large enough to contain their entire species, kind of like a planet-sized neural network. The heretics were promised a Reaper vessel to achieve this goal just for them (remember the heretic numbers in proportion to the true geth numbers so you don't make the mistake of believing a single reaper could house the entire geth species), while the true geth believed they had to make their own and not rely on others to achieve their evolution.

In any case, they haven't actually built this megastructure yet, which is why they rely on ground forms for the time being.

Finally, I understand your support for Xen. I knew it was based on a black and white viewpoint, ( that's not an
insult ) but it's the first time you made it that clear, or the first time I caught it. I just don't see all the choices in game as being simply black or white. I don't think the dev's wanted to make it that easy to pick a path or make a choice.

I think there are many grey area's deliberately included for ingame choices and I'm sure there are many who would disagree. I don't think those of us who see the 'grey' decisions are any more or less thoughtful about our choices than other player's either.

On topic, I agree with the 'dump the elf ears' in the top pic, but the rest is fine.

You know I have always wondered what Ascension meant by "what passes for their ears." Does that mean the ears are small? Does it mean they are weirdly shaped? Are they sunken into the head?

I suspect it was vague on purpose.

What "evolutionary nature" are the Geth holding against the Quarians?  The Geth have proof that the Quarians will attack them 100% of the time if there's an advantage.  How is that evolutionary nature?

I'm mainly picturing just like holes in the sides of their head where ears would normally be.

That is an interesting and risky take on ears, however that is offset by the extremely human face.

So it kinda swaps places with almost all the other fanart in existence. :D

I don't expect to win any friends with this, but what the hell.

It's a fairly old piece (and pardon the lack of polish, it was never my strong side) but it's still largely how I imagine Tali would appear without dat bowl.
Fundamentally humanoid features, but still decidedly alien.
