Assume that everything here is said in good humor and light-heartedness unless there's strong evidence that suggests otherwise. If I wanted srs bsns arguments and what not, I'd just visit the Steam forums.ADLegend21 wrote...

didn't seem like it. not the best welcome when someone tells you to bow to the character a thread a centered around. for future reference.jacobOriley wrote...
IT WAS SARCASM....geez. Your views on Tali are well documented on other threads. I was being friendly and polite despite that.

A twenty-five year old woman? Made an admiral? Highly unlikely, given that such a position demands experience. It's not the same as making a child into a king/queen with someone guiding them as regent.
Why? we've had younger generals.
Do you really think Tali is politically savvy enough to be an Admiral? See, i don't think it's so much an age thing as it is the desire to be a politician. I'm sure there are young 'people'/quarian's with that desire and training(?) to be the "Young Admiral", but Tali......nawww. The Admirals are qualified by age, experience, etc., but there has to be a desire to play the game of politics. Tali would lose her cool, take out a shotgun...and ther ya' go!
How many times do I have to say it, its not that Tali is a good leader, its that people WANT Tali to be leader. Not to be rude, but I have said this multiple times already.

I wasn't ignoring your premise, just adding that whether the quarian people wanted her for the Admiral's spot or not, Tali would have to want to fill those shoes. She might out of loyalty to her people, even though she might want to do something else to help them. I think she's more valuable to the quarain's as an emmissary who's actually out there doing things. Tali and you might have different thoughts on that, which we'll just have to what and see I guess.
(and then I threw in a smartass remark at the end, which didn't help

Didn't Tali say she wasn't selfish? If her people wanted her to take a spot as an admiral I'm sure she would take it, because she thinks of others before herself.
Eh, that would depend on the estimation of her own abilities. If she thought she would make a good admiral, which I doubt, then she may refuse. (if they giver her a choice, Quarians seem pushy)
However I do get tired of people calling Tali a bad leader when she hasn't been given a fair shake yet. Saddled with Prazza, called a bad leader for things she wasn't even in charge for (haestrom) its sad.

Logically this makes perfect sense, 10,000 ships reporting to a single person is a bit absurd (yes, I'm simplifying the chain of command quite a bit). I suspect there are different levels within the "admiral" title similar to how current military organization works. What does this mean? If, and it's a big if, Tali somehow got on the board for whatever reason it would be as a lower admiral with one of the more senior admirals taking her father's actual place.
I don't really want to fan the fire on this because from a personal standpoint I would be sad to look for a new chief engineer but at the same time I don't think that circumstance would be the gaping plot hole some people think it would be.
EDIT: Tali led several search parties in ME1, sucessfully I might add. Of all the possible leaders in Mass Effect, like Shepherd, Garrus or Miranda,Tali is by far the youngest of the party by something like five years (Shep's 31, I've always assumed garrus to be a few years older than Shepherd). In other words she hasn't had a chance to fully develop into her talents.

You and I are definitely in the same boat on that one. She may not have good leadership abilities or.....Prazza is a varen's ass. We don't really know ( yeah I've seen the other arguments). And I think it was you who mentioned that Tali was attached to the marine detail that Kal Reegar was the squad leader for on Haestrom. I really like Kal, but doesn't that make that mission his responsibilty?

Actually I am not sure. Was Kal the highest ranking member of the security team? He definately is now. However you can't really blame Kal, or whoever was leading the mission for all the deaths. What could a small strike team do about a platoon of geth falling on your head in a surprise attack? They definately were not equipped for a dropship attack.
Also on the subject of Tali and Prazza... I study leadership. There are several factors involved in leadership that make up a good leader that doesn't even involve direct involvment from the leader itself. However we can simplify the Tali-Prazza thing with a simple three-way classification...
Leader, follower, situation.
Tali, Prazza, finding veetor with cerberus interference.

I thought there was a conversation with Kal where he himself claimed it was his squad.... and they were certainly out gunned by the huge geth presence. I was just offering the counter point on whose failure Haestrom was.Nashiktal wrote...

I will defer to you on this one, since I was being less than serious about Prazza being a varen's assNashiktal wrote...Also on the subject of Tali and Prazza... I study leadership. @Jacob I think you're right there. I haven't played ME2 for a while, still currently stuck with my ME1 playthrough. In any case seeing how intelligent Kal is when it comes to tactics and warfare, I find it hard to believe it is his fault. It just seems like one of those disasters you can't really control happening.

OT: Tali is all but confirmed for ME3 in some way. What other news should come with that confirmation that you want?

Of course, continuance of the romance subplot as well, although that seems to go without saying.
Other than that...nothing specific. Most of all I hope she remains in character. Whether her face is going to be revealed I'd prefer not to know in advance.
