Well, I jsut took her on the collector ship mission, and she drained my medigel. I think it has to do with her health. I had her use the GPS and her Combat drone was level 3. Luckily I took Grunt too so I used him as her meat shield from teh preatorian on and she didn't die again. jsut my experiene though and I chuckled a bit when she killed a Harbinger and said "eat that"Quole wrote...
I always wondered why Tali was regarded as a weak squadmate to have with you, considering combat drone is an extremely useful ability. The GPS is also ridiculously OP.

What difficulty was that on? For me, my squad mates almost never die on normal.

Glad you're giving her a chance (not sarcasm). I really believe all the squad member's can be played well if we give them a chance. Everybody has their favorite's, including me, but I like to learn to play them all with their strengths. It just doesn't make sense for me to hate any of them.ADLegend21 wrote...

Sometimes Tali is too aggresive with her shottie and you end up having to back her up! or heal her up.

That's definitely the best time to deploy Chikktika!Someone With Mass wrote...
I've learned that Chiktikka works best on big enemies that takes a moment to turn around. Looks so funny when a Scion doesn't know which one of us it's supposed to shoot.

I made mine explode the first time, it was kind of sinister. It'd just glide up to people like "oh hey hows it goi-'BOOM.
Worked wonders in the long run, but at a glance it may not seem like its doing much.
*edit* We still gotta put pictures in?

Just me, but I usually go with combat drone. I use it more for distraction so I can get in close, or another position or take the shot.Quole wrote...

I think the explosive one's better. She can't stay alive for long once she's drawn the aggro, so she can might as well go out with a bang.

The drone is probably the most powerful ability in the game once you learn how to use it.

I'm currently writing a FanFic and was wondering if it would be fundamentali wrong to give Tali a Proboscis. Nothing to weird, but just wondering if it sound too strange.

I 100% agree.
I don't think Quarians have a proboscis. They would press up against the visors and make them all weird.

Also, I find Tali to be very similar to Jack in the way that she goes right up to enemies with a shottie, guns a blazin', without a thought about opposing gunfire.
Gotta love them two

This. I believe the AI is different for each squaddie based on their loadouts and talents alone, and the reason I find Tali + Garrus/Jack the most useful is because I choose them the most, and developed a good sync. I only play on Insanity, and the toughest parts (Horizon, derelict CS, SM) was actually more difficult when I took a different, "technically" more effective squad.jacobOriley wrote...

I notice that at the times when I didn't direct the squad's positioning, their AI was truly illuminated, and I would see Grunt with an AR resisting a charge and staying by me while Miranda took her Locust 30 feet ahead right of the enemy where she crumbled to the ground on more than a few occasions. Some squaddies are just too antsy and can't stay in one spot while others seen to root themselves. I swear Zaeed and Garrus both sniping act completely different. I rarely even saw Zaeed he was all over the place, while Garrus liked to stand near me and I'd accidently shoot him and he'd say "Sorry, I was in your way" lol what a guy.
DISCLAIMER: This is just in my experience.
As I said above, all the shotgun users have this tendency. The GPS is such a blessing for it's range so I don't see that too often anymore. All the other shotties require them to get way too close, but the real blessing for me is when any squadmember doesn't leap on top of cover where there is none, crouch, and take fire till they collapse. I saw Miranda and Jacob do this the most and couldn't understand why (I sometimes wouldn't direct them so it wasn't a positioning error). So I gave up. Maybe I need to give them another chance.Tasha vas Nar Rayya wrote...
