Just throwin this out there, but in physics there's this theory of all possibilities.  Essentially expressing that there's a realm full of infinite bubbles, each bubble being its own universe.  We are, of course, one of those 'bubbles'.  Because 'infinite possibilities' encompasses every scenario, that means that right now not only is there a universe out there where Master Chief is crushing The Flood,  but there's also a universe where shepard is killing geth scum and getting his talimance on.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiverse

just sayin'......

Man I totally wish I could live to see 2150.  Optimism tells me we'll pull through and have some kickass technology, if we get our heads out of our asses.

Get that nano tech in 2045 and you will.

*Edit* seriously guys be here more than me =/

It's just the throw of the dice Faust on who gets the top pic. Apparently it's your turn in the pickle barrel. Nice choice for that pic also. One of my favorite's.

That's why I hope the open slots system for Shepard is available for the teammates too.

...and she'll be able to in ME3. It's one of the reason's I took up modding ME2, I liked being able to equip my squad with what I chose.

Yeessh. The characters are my favourite part of Bioware's games. Not all, of course, but the most important part to me.

It goes without saying that good gameplay is always paramount to making a good game, but without a reason to care about what's happening on screen, you may as well be partaking in 30+ hours of mindless activity. Games like Tetris are a modern day equivalent of the ball and cup. Games like Uncharted, Red Dead Redemption and Mass Effect, on the other hand, are the reason Hollywood is worried by the games industry.
It's because I care about Mass Effect's characters that I care about its story. Seeing what happens with Tali, the Quarians and Geth will be my primary motivation for punting old ladies out of the way to get my launch day copy of ME3.

Like others said probably she can use it in ME3. That would be cool, although I prefer giving her an assault rifle... Garrus is the sniper here :P

I cannot for the life of me figure out where that picture is from.

I've had enough of your disingenuous assertions

And concerning the noveria scene. THAT is what the rest of the MEfanbase is talking about when they refer to us being weird.

Because of the imaginitive writings of die-hard fans? If that's true, then Bioware is truly maniacal for giving us the opportunity to romance aliens in video games.

It's the combination, imo. Like Flashheart said, the mix of good gameplay and characters that drive the story keeps me coming back for more. I immediately cared deeply about the geth/quarian conflict and the krogan/salarian conflict, but mostly because the characters presented me with no other choice with the spectacular writing and VA. That's why a potentially good movie suffers under crappy acting (poor Star Wars Ep:2 and 3).

I like! And the beauty at the top of the page, there's something quite appealing about the cartoony look.

Well 2 and a half, infiltrator made me angry face so i quit. Besides i wanted to get rid of ashley as a past romance so i went back to ME1 to sort that right out :D.

A human visionary with a fetish?, lordy. Guess when you think about it, it does kind of suck that at the end of the it is just a game. You can't help but wish you could exist during that time. Of course with all this hoopla about nanobots and living longer coming about in 2029 or 2040 ya never know.

I'm with you there.

Hell, when I was a kid, I was planning on getting a doctorate in physics so I could invent warp drive or something similar.  But none of that happened, and the one very limited space vehicle we have is getting retired.

I guess my dreams of being captain of a ship with a harem of green slave girls is gone.

This is the internet, you can probably find what you want somewhere, and probably already have.

Rule 34 is a blessing and a curse, dont like running into Tali rule 34 though for some reason.

Still, each to their own.

Lordy I've been reading that Mass Effect fan fiction "To Survive" by Calinstel all day. My xbox is cold i need to go boot up ME2.

It is one of the better fan fictions out there and I'm not usually a fan fiction kind of guy.

Bleh I wouldn't write it off as 'just a game'.  Technically it is, but i'm sure there are many a successful archaelogists and anthropologists who were inspired by Indiana Jones.  There's definitely a crapload of NASA, ESA, and JPL people who were inspired by Star Trek.  There's no reason this can't be a source of inspiration for somebody to strive to put us on the right path to kick ass space travel, even if still takes a century or two.  In the grand scheme of things, 2 centuries is nothing.  What's to say that what takes us 200 years to develop, takes another sentient race 2000 years to develop....maybe humans are fast learners even if we are behind (temporarily).

Just something I decided to do. (Originally done for Volrath)

The picture is supposed to represent both sides of Shepard and the choices in ME3(or, well, you know, possible choices) in his struggle to fight for Earth. Hence the colours and location of the background picture.

To Shepard's left is Admiral Daro'Xen(sorry if I didn't get the colours spot-on), who may or may not be in ME3(but it's somewhat fun to speculate).

(Background picture from flikie)

Good to see you too.

I try. But the brightness and contrast doesn't seem to have come out very well. Looks better on the rig I rendered the picture with... but, what can you do...

Got the Tali's bump map working finally though, so that's a plus. Heh.

Nice. The Paragon/Renegade system defined as two different but sexy quarians. I wish it was this way in the game. Xen is more my kind of girl, most definitely.

I always hate seing Sheploo though.
